My mom moved into Rosemary Lodge in March of this year. To date, we have felt supported as a family, as this move was a big change in our lives. New friends on both the resident and staff side. Fantastic staff who are friendly, helpful and a credit to the home.

My mother has settled in well at Rosemary Lodge. She is well cared for and her individual needs are met, including referrals to outside agencies as required.
She says the food is very good and there are plenty of activities to keep her occupied during the day.
The staff have always been very helpful
when I have telephoned or visited.

My Grandad moved into Rosemary Lodge 2 years ago and has loved every minute of it. He loves the room and the staff are all amazing. Last May during the peak of COVID my mom passed away suddenly she was my grandad's limited power of attorney, I then had to become my grandad's limited power of attorney.
It was all a bit of a minefield trying to sort out my mom's stuff as well as my grandad's. The staff were all so helpful, caring, and compassionate throughout. During COVID they have done everything to make sure we have as much contact as possible. They are always at the end of the phone and always have a smile on their faces.

Mum moved in around 4 months ago and considering that she can be a very 'prickly' and exacting person, the staff have all done an excellent job to get her settled in so that she is now more relaxed and contented than she has been for a few years. The staff work to treat Mum as an individual, but also
to work with us as part of the extended team. Activities are tailored to residents and adapted where needed to make sure that they work. The COVID visiting 'pod', whilst not perfect, does provide a useful way for the wider family to visit relatives. Residents meetings where Mum is able to express views about what she would like to see on the menu have been a good boost for her.

Generally, it is a pleasant place to live, with friendly and caring staff. Unfortunately, it is felt that food standards have gone down (not as good as it used to be!) There needs to be more choices, more home-cooked food i.e. not shop bought apple pie, meringue or rice pudding but more homely food
that elderly residents love. Tea time choices are very poor and the quantities are small. Also for residents that are in the rooms upstairs, there needs to be more contact with staff, as they often feel forgotten about.

I have found the staff at Rosemary Lodge friendly, dedicated and helpful. My mother says they are very kind and caring. I do not think my mother could be in a better place. My only criticisms are that it is expensive, with a 10% increase this April! Also, I wish they would get Mum's hearing aid sorted
for good as it keeps falling apart and that affects her quality of life.

My father has resided at Rosemary Lodge for 2 years and 9 months. His care during this time has been excellent. During the pandemic, the staff have kept everyone safe. As soon as possible relatives have been able to visit outside and this has had great benefits to residents' well-being, including my
Dad. Under difficult circumstances, all the staff have contributed to the residents continuing to enjoy living in their "home". Thank you to Rosemary Lodge.

I have always been delighted with the care Mum has received at Rosemary Lodge. Mum moved in 2018 she is very happy and well. The staff are lovely so friendly and caring. Rosemary Lodge is beautifully appointed and extremely well cared for, always looking immaculate, yet retaining a lovely homely atmosphere.

Rosemary Lodge provides excellent care for my Grandma. They ensure all of her personal care needs are met, her medical needs addressed as required and do so with respect, empathy and patience. The staff interaction with both residents and visitors is wonderful. They are professional, friendly and make
visiting a pleasure. The home is always immaculately clean, the food is of a very high standard and all staff willing to help with anything. I feel a huge sense of relief knowing my Grandma is safe and happy.

Since arriving at Rosemary Lodge in October 2019 my mother has been treated with the utmost dignity and respect from the caring and thoroughly professional staff at all times. As we live a 2-hour drive away we do not visit as much as I would like but I can sleep easy knowing that she is being cared

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.095)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.095) out of 10 for Rosemary Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.814 for Rosemary Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (53 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.814
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.281 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosemary Lodge is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.4 = 0.781
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

"In the late ’80s, while studying Social Care, I began questioning why shouldn’t living in a care home be a well-deserved enjoyable stage of life rather than a place that is limited to God’s waiting room. Shouldn’t it be a time to socialise, active and nurture the spirit in a comfortable lifestyle? Shouldn’t a Resident be cared for as if they were family? The answer to all, was ‘Yes!’ And so, Rosemary Lodge was born and based on these values.

Today more than 30 years later, Rosemary Lodge remains in the same experienced hands. Many elderly ladies and gentlemen have resided happily in our home. It continues to enjoy a hard-earned reputation and is well supported by the local community and medical professionals. Our ethos and our standards remain consistent. Just as we take care of our Residents 24 hours a day, Rosemary Lodge does not stop in its efforts to evolve, improve and maintain its position as a leading luxurious care home."

"I found my dream job in 2004 – by sheer chance! I was helping out at Rosemary Lodge as a “Girl Friday” and I immediately knew where I wanted to grow. I started at the bottom and worked my way up – through hard work, gaining hands-on experience, and studying to become a Registered Care Manager.

My years at the Lodge have been wonderful – there is something special in the aura of the home, and the energy and attitude of our team. Our Residents and their families feel it as much as I do. For me, it’s my second home and I am grateful to be the Mom of our happy family here."

"One thing is certain at Rosemary Lodge –no two days are ever the same. It’s a great choice if you don’t want boring days.

A second thing is it is a friendly family home. This applies to Carers too. We work together to make a difference in the lives of those we care for.

There is little more rewarding than empowering our Residents to enjoy life.

My idea of a good day is finishing work, knowing I have put smiles on faces."

"I wasn’t sure what to expect when I joined Rosemary Lodge, but my goodness I was pleasantly surprised having only worked in a corporate environment, I was looking for a role that would be challenging but in a different way.

The Lodge certainly does that, there is a special feeling as soon as you walk through the doors such a family atmosphere and a happy, homely feeling. The aura around the home is peaceful and the warmth you receive from the residents just makes my job worthwhile."
