Fairfield has 47 bedrooms in total, including some ensuite and ground floor rooms where available. The home has four households and a self-contained care cottage, each with its own lounge, dining area and kitchenette, where residents can make snacks and drinks whenever they like. Each household reflects one of three lifestyles - town, country or classical living. Hobbies, interests and local information are represented in the hallway decorations, sparking conversation and memories.

The care cottage has bedrooms with ensuite wetrooms, an open-plan living area and kitchen. Residents can live in a way that feels familiar and use facilities such as the café, covered plaza and launderette. There's also a beauty salon offering unisex hairdressing and manicures and a quiet room for crafts or celebrations. The garden features outdoor gym equipment, a side-by-side bike, pitch and putt/bowling lawn and a café terrace, while the covered plaza has seating, a fountain and a giant chessboard.

The Lifestyle Coaches plan a mix of activities and will always do their best to ensure that you can carry on doing what you enjoy. WCS's Memory Maker minibus provides regular, local trips for residents, including those who need to use a wheelchair. Relatives are invited to join so families can make new memories together.

Fairfield benefits from a circadian lighting system developed to be easy to retrofit into older buildings without needing to rewire the home. Circadian lighting mimics natural daylight to set the body's internal body clock, helping people to be more alert in the day and sleep better at night. It has been proven to support health and wellbeing and has significant benefits for residents, particularly people living with dementia. The home also uses night-time acoustic monitoring, allowing staff to respond quickly if someone needs support during the night and leaving those sleeping well to rest without being disturbed.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
How lucky were we to get Mom into this lovely care home. Our family had to make the tough decision for mom to go into care. Fairfields is a lovely caring home mom could not be better looked after. She is treated with dignity and respect just what we wanted for her. We are also treated like family, visiting
anytime we want and made to feel very welcome. We feel like we are visiting Mom in her own home were able to make tea and relax with her. All the staff with no exception are lovely pleasant people always smiling and always have time to answer any questions we may have and putting our minds at ease.Nothing is too much trouble. We cannot put into words how grateful we are to these lovely caring people. Sincere thanks to you all

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.761) out of 10 for Fairfield is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.886 for Fairfield is calculated as follows: ( (159 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 176 Ratings = 4.886
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fairfield is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
