Overall Experience

This is a small care home that has improved since new owners took over recently. The manager is capable, professional and has made the environment better for residents during her time there. Unfortunately, middle management supervisory staff have a culture of simply ignoring residents like my mother who is sometimes prone to acting out. Although it's a care home for residents with mental ill health, I get the feeling that middle management staff do not care about the residents on a personal level. Communication is very poor, and I have never been notified of important developments affecting my mother. Concerns that I have raised are often ignored by experienced supervisory staff that have been with the care home for a long time, and should know better.

Reply from Michelle Carter, Managing Director at Field View

We are disappointed to read these comments, particularly as we encourage relatives to raise any concerns directly with the home manager or senior team at the earliest opportunity so they can be reviewed and addressed without delay.

On behalf of my family, l want to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Field View Care Home Redditch for their kindness, patience and dedication in caring for our mum during her 2-year stay at Field View. Mum had developed the onset of dementia by the time she had moved into Field View. It wasn't an easy time for any of us. The staff at Field View gave us the confidence that mum was in good hands. Special thanks to all the staff who in my opinion treated their residents as family, and in mum's case, especially her final weeks the staff were attentive and compassionate towards mum's care, which gave the family lots of comfort right to the day of mum's passing.

Reply from Harpinder Birring, Provider at Field View
