I joined Gildawood Court as Home Manager in September 2020, after spending the last 15 years of my career in the care sector.
I first started in 2005 as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities, becoming a CQC Registered Manager in 2009. Since then, I have managed various care settings, including domiciliary, supported living, residential and also nursing before starting at Gildawood Court.
As Home Manager, I enjoy the variety and challenges which each day brings at a care home. I have been impressed with how the team at Gildawood Court genuinely know the residents as individuals and treats everyone with such care and respect.
It is my responsibility to ensure that our residents receive the best care possible, that they are listened to and that their needs are met. It is also really important that my staff are supported in their role to assist our residents. It is a team effort and we all need to be working together to ensure the development of the home is the best it can be for its residents, relatives and staff.
I am also looking forward to building strong relationships with the local community and being active in exploring the lovely surrounding area.
In my spare time, I like to take my dog for walks and relax on the sofa watching a good movie.
