I've had good care from all carers. The management is reasonable
Mum moved to Homewood in October 2025 following her Alzheimer's diagnosis. The staff are caring and friendly and Mum has settled in well. I visit most days and the staff are always so welcoming. They do not have set visiting times which is great. The programme of activities that Jackie organises for the residents in vast and caters for everyone's interests. Mum enjoys the musical performances especially. The food is very good and varied. They are given a choice of meals each day. Putting Mum into a carehome was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make but she is so settled and happy. Thank you Homewood!
Thank you to each and every one of you.
My Dad has been cared for by Homewood since last August. He is very well looked after by all the staff. Ivy and Leighanne always go above and beyond to help Dad. He can be challenging at times due to his medical issues, and always treated with dignity, patience and respect. The room is bright and sunny with hygiene always excellent especially the bathroom.
Very happy with the care our mother is receiving.
My mum was in Homewood for 4 months, and I cannot rate it highly enough. She was fully supported by the staff, who are like family. Nothing was too much trouble, and Mum was able to be as independent as she was able. As her health went downhill, coordination between medical staff and senior carers was excellent, as was the system of disseminating any changes in her treatment. The activities on offer are amazing and varied - from keep fit to board games, musicians, movies and outings, something for everybody. There are good choices of food, and room cleaning and laundry is seamless. Thank you, team.
My mom feels safe, comfortable and happy living here. The activities manager provides a varied diary of experiences and something for everyone to enjoy and there is a lovely garden space to explore. Mom enjoyed the flower arranging and had her nails manicured recently.
I would recommend definitely it to anyone who is looking.
I have felt at home from my first day, and the staff are very thoughtful and helpful, really caring, and make you feel at home and will do all they can to help you.
My mother lived at Homewood and it was a very positive experience for us all. Sadly mum passed away recently at the home and I cannot praise them enough, for their love, care and attention she received during her end of life care. She was treated with dignity and compassion. Carers sat with her when we could not be there and nothing was too much trouble. The care we have received from both the manager and all the staff has been second to none. I would recommend Homewood without hesitation.
Our friend spent 2 years at Homewood, where she was safe, free from anxiety and very well looked after by dedicated staff members. The range of activities was wide and varied. She needed much persuasion to move to Homewood from her flat, where she was simply not able to cope. We were so relieved when she moved, and we are very grateful to the staff.
Mum has been able to furnish her room with items from home and bring in her precious personal possessions. The nurse carers have all medications sorted and I don't have to worry about doctor appointments or prescriptions anymore. From the maintenance man to the cooks and cleaners, everyone is friendly and open to help. A particular member of staff sorts all the activities out and site visits which include a wide range of animals visiting as well as all sorts of games, chair fit, pottery etc. A visiting hairdresser helps keep mum and her friends looking smart. And the weekly church services offer comfort to many. I commend all the staff for their patience, assistance and the time they spend looking after our loved ones. Thank you.
Mum was very lonely and very frail in her own flat and her mobility was very poor. Since moving into Homewood, her mobilities have increased remarkably. I can't believe the change in Mum's mood and general wellbeing. She's mixing with people and enjoying activities. I can't thank Homewood and all the staff for everything they've done and continue to do. You are all marvellous. Thank you. I would just like to add, it would be better if more diabetic foods were available, i.e. desserts.
The activities provided are many and varied and Mum's needs and wishes are listened to thanks to the excellent activity co-ordinator.
The home is always kept spotlessly clean, the laundry and maintenance service are very good and the food looks tasty and well-presented. Would recommend Homewood to anyone.
I had been ill in hospital for some time. I live alone in Hampshire, and my only daughter lives in Warwickshire who found Homewood for me. I moved here on 13th January 2023. I have never been so happy. The staff are so kind. The home is very clean, the food is very good indeed. All in all, I am pleased I came to Homewood long may I stay.
Absolutely no issues. Very happy with the service, and care my mum receives. She looks amazing. All the food meals are good. Activities are brilliant. Couldn't wish for better care. We feel welcome every time myself and my family visit.
Admitted efficiently and sympathetically at short notice and displayed admirable flexibility in meeting needs for respite and refuge during a family crisis. We are all grateful to one staff member in particular and the manager!
I joined Mum in the dining room for lunch. One of the care team was really helpful, supporting Mum to walk as far as she could and then getting a wheelchair for the rest of the way. It was lovely to hear Mum say grace at the start of the meal for everyone.
The care team member then accompanied us back to Mum's room and supported Mum back into her armchair in the way she needed letting her do as much as she could herself. Overall it was an enjoyable visit.
Thank you so much for your positive comments and review, I am very pleased you enjoyed your time spent with your mum. Many thanks.
Staff are friendly, caring, and work hard to ensure that the residents feel valued and their needs are met.
Daily activities are varied and interesting and welcoming communal areas are available with each floor operating as separate areas which encourage interaction and friendships. Residents also have the opportunity to mix with others living on different floors.
Rooms are ensuite, spacious, and Mum was able to bring items of furniture to personalise it.
Mum’s health has deteriorated over the years but the care has not. She is well looked after; communication with me is good so I know how things are going.
I would have no hesitation in recommending MHA Homewood.
Thank you for taking to time to review our home, we are so pleased to have been able to provide a sense of home. Thank you so much for your kind words.
Mum was on the whole happy and well cared for. The home was clean, well decorated, and Mum felt part of a community. It was rare that there wasn’t something that the chef would not make to encourage eating.
The opportunity to send Mum a weekly electronic newsletter was very well received.
The staff were great, but I felt stretched particularly when resident's health status changed. I know that recruitment is difficult but an additional person who could be there pastorally, make drinks, and help residents would have taken some pressure off. I was surprised that there were times when there was no manager or deputy manager in the home. I think that having a senior staff member around at weekends would be a huge benefit to the staff, residents, and families.
I have nothing but high praise to say for Homewood where my sister is a resident and has been for the last 9 months. The staff are very caring towards her and me when I visit.
Thank you for taking the time to submit such a kind review, we really do appreciate your feedback.
