Overall Experience
My mother spent the last twelve months of her life here. She was well cared for. She was always clean (as is Park View) and comfortable and really enjoyed her food. We were always kept well informed if Mum was ever poorly.
She recently celebrated her 100th birthday and we had a party for her at Park View.

She passed away peacefully in Park View and the staff, plus the local community nurses, GP surgery were all so kind and supportive to Mum and her family and friends.

Reply from Dani Pathirage, Home Manager at Park View

Thank you Jane for your kind words, we all miss your mum here at Parkview and still remember how happy she was on her 100th Birthday party.

My sister has been a resident at Park View for 18 months. The staff here are friendly, caring and welcoming and I particularly appreciate the fact that I can visit without a prior appointment.

When I was recently unable to take my sister to a medical appointment, she was accompanied by a carer who knew her well which was important to her. When I saw my sister today she had just enjoyed a visit from local school pupils who had chatted with her in her room. Staff are aware of my sister’s difficulties and are considerate of her needs. She often needs encouragement to join in activities and I commend the staff for their patience, sensitivity and good humour.

Overall Experience
My mum was diagnosed with dementia and has been there since February 2023 and has been quite challenging at times.
The manager's office door is always open and management has always been there to answer any concerns that I may have.
My mum is generally happy and just wants someone to talk to, so I try to visit most days therefore I feel that I have a good overview of the floor that my mum is on.
The cleanliness is first class even the cleaning staff interact with the residents, the food is good and my mum seems to enjoy her meals.
I took time to choose a care home for my mum, as I have looked after her for 5 years myself and I know her needs. I feel that Park View are like our extended family, all the day staff are lovely, caring and happy to fulfil request whenever possible for example food likes and dislikes, coffee, tea, milkshakes and juice are served throughout the day.

Mum's room is spacious and very clean she has her own TV and bathroom.

This is a brilliant care home, my mother has resided in Park View for two and a half years. Care is second to none, staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble for them, always pleasant and very caring. All staff deserve commendations for the care they provided to all residents.

Since Mum moved to the home last September, she is finally settling in and moving out of her room to play bingo. Staff are always very friendly and respectful and ready to answer questions and help if they can and we know she is much safer than she was living on her own with dementia and Alzheimer's.

When she entered Park View the light had gone out of her eyes and she was confused and agitated. After one month in residence, her old spark and personality has returned and she is no longer confused. In her words.. 'if you have to leave your own home ... this is the place to come!'

My auntie moved into Park View in December 2022 and loves it.
The staff are all friendly, and take time to make sure her needs are met.
My auntie lived alone before moving into here and didn't really see anyone, so enjoys the interaction.
The home provides activities to do, and the coordinator is always bubbly and bouncing about, which my auntie thinks is funny. The carers go above and beyond and always say hello, and ask her if everything is ok when passing her room.
According to my auntie, the meals are lovely.

Her room is quite large, comfortable, warm and always clean.

I highly recommend this care home!
From the day my 94-year-old mom entered this home in June 2022, she and I were greeted by all the staff and made to feel most welcome.
This gave my mom and me great comfort and reassurance. Within a day all her clothes were clearly labelled with her name and hung in the wardrobe.
The room was re-arranged to accommodate my mom's furniture and pictures hung on the walls to make her room feel homely.
Even though she has had a couple of falls, it was no fault of the staff and they quickly put measures in place to prevent it from happening again. The staff are all so kind to my mom and family. My mom is very happy here.
I have worked in care myself and my dad had to stay in 2 and Park View is by far superior to them. They treat my mom and family with dignity and respect and the staff always smiles and talk to you when you visit.

The CQC rating should be outstanding!

Mum went into care home for the last months of her long life. She was treated with respect and care. Her dry sense of humour continued to shine and surprise. full of admiration for the care shown to Mum and the family when visiting. Staff always ready to listen, advise and liaise when the occasion demanded. Both mum and the family were appreciative for all that was done both in care and support. It was apparent that Mum's final months were dignified and as comfortable as the staff could make them.

My mother was a resident of Park View for many years. Sadly she died at the beginning of November. She was really happy there, and I always felt she was so well cared for. The home is nice, lots of space and is very safe for the residents. The staff are great, caring and helpful. I would recommend, without hesitation, the care of a family member should it arise. Well-run and nice to visit. Thank you to everyone.

Our Aunt Edith Gore sadly passed away on the 10th August 2021. She had been a resident at Parkview for the last 6 years. She was blind, hard of hearing, and immobile for the majority of the time. All the time she was there she was given the most amazing care. All the staff were lovely. She was always clean and her laundry was always kept immaculate. The food was good and always nicely presented. Her room was smart and kept to a high standard. Sadly through Covid we were unable to visit but we were kept up to date at all times and had no worries as to her care. When we were able to visit we were always treated politely in a friendly manner. Edith was happy there and considered it her home, and we were pleased that her end of life care was there. We cannot thank all the staff there enough and would recommend the home to anyone.

I visited my father yesterday, and I just wanted to comment on how happy and healthy he seemed. I don't live locally and it's so comforting to know that he is in good hands, even though his dementia can make him challenging at times. It is a credit to the staff how he is flourishing at the moment. We thought that there was a lovely atmosphere at the home and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We are very grateful for the care which he is receiving, especially after a difficult time in his last home.

I have visited my friend on three occasions now. She has dementia and has not been out of her room on my visits. I can only comment on part of the survey. I have felt safe while visiting having been given a temperature check, flow test, mask, gloves, and apron. My friend's room has been clean and tidy with many of her own belongings to make it feel homely. She has been treated with kindness and patience while I have been present, and the staff seem to know her well.

My first visit to my Mum's room since she arrived at Park View. Lovely surroundings, view of the garden and trees is very calming. So pleased to see the lovely relationships she has with staff. Her room was very personal with many family photos and personal effects. In what had been a difficult year for all I would like to thank all the staff and fellow residents for making my Mum so welcome. I always sensed this but it has been wonderful to be with her again and see it for myself. Your hard work is appreciated so much. Thank you.
