My mother came to Seale Pastures House after a long hospital stay. She has settled very well enjoying time spent with other residents and activities at the care home. She was uncertain whether to stay due to the location from her previous home but has now decided she is happy to do so.

The facilities are first class, the care my mother has received could not have been better anywhere in the area.
The cost as my mother is self-funding is below average cost for the area.
The care staff are friendly and very conscientious towards the residents.
I would recommend this care home to
anyone.

Staff always make me welcome when visiting my mother. A warm and friendly atmosphere. They let me know if my mother is unwell etc. Very clean environment, no nasty smells. Mother is kept nice and clean, hair shampooed, showered clothes washed etc. My mother is very well looked after and taken care of.

Overall the care is good. The food is good. The home is nice and clean and I feel my mother is well looked after and to a high standard. As all care homes, they could be cheaper.

Mum has stayed in various care homes before she came to Seale Pastures House but none came up to the standard of care, cleanliness and security that she has received since she became a resident two years ago.

As mum's mobility in her bungalow became difficult she concluded that a move into a residential home would be a good idea. Fortunately, we knew of Seale Pastures House as our grandmother was a resident there 25 years ago!
After an initial period of adjusting to her reduced independence and recovering
from a fall at home which resulted in a prolonged hospital stay, mum has become content with her daily life at the home. Obviously, while settling in some small issues have arisen but they have been resolved sympathetically by the staff. There is a genuine commitment from the management and all of the people involved in the core and pastoral aspects in the running of the home.
We have always thought that mum would enjoy being in the right care environment as she is a gregarious, witty and appreciative individual. Who remains active by providing gifts for others with prodigious knitting talent. Indeed we would like to think the home has been enhanced by her presence. Finally, as a son and daughter, we have also made new friends at the home and enjoy our visits to see mum

I use this day care/respite care home for my dad who has Parkinson's and aged 81. From the first visit all staff were wonderful, cheery, polite and caring. They provide in invaluable service for him and me, taking care of all his social and health/well being needs. Initially dad didn't want to be with
anyone but me, but even after the very first visit it was clear that it wouldn't be a problem continuing his care at Seale Pastures . The food is always cooked fresh, is varied interesting and well balanced for his needs. The home is clean and always staffed sufficiently (to the outsiders eye). I couldn't rate it better.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.742) out of 10 for Seale Pastures House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.742 for Seale Pastures House is calculated as follows: ( (262 Excellents x 5) + (77 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 345 Ratings = 4.742
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Seale Pastures House is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
