Douglas Court is a family-run, award-winning care home providing affordable quality care based within close proximity to Derby city centre providing easy access to bus stops, train station and local amenities.

A friendly, well-trained team ensure high standards of residential and dementia care in a comfortable, caring and compassionate environment.

Resident happiness and well-being is at the heart of the home and dedicated activity coordinators provide a daily fun, engaging and stimulating social programme designed to encourage residents to lead a fulfilled, happy and enriched life.

In the dementia care suites, residents have access to sensory areas, reminiscence activities and memory boxes. A minibus, means residents frequently get out and about on day trips to places of local interest.

The purpose-built home has a range of large comfortable bedrooms and spacious communal lounges. Home-cooked meals are served in a dining room overlooking the pleasant landscaped sensory garden, which also has a patio seating area and an aviary.

The deputy manager is very knowledgeable and professional, her knowledge of the care of elderly people is outstanding. Her care and compassion for both my father and me has been very supportive and she is always available for any advice and support. The deputy manager is a real credit to Douglas Court.

I cannot speak highly enough of our experience with Douglas Court and particularly the deputy manager. Mum required an urgent admission into a care home and the move to Douglas Court was seamless and efficient. The deputy manager visited Mum for an assessment on the Thursday, straight away the deputy
manager impressed us with her professionalism and caring nature; Mum took to her immediately. We then visited Douglas Court on the Saturday and even though it was the deputy manager's day off, she came in specifically on the Sunday to admit Mum. Upon arrival, the deputy manager was there to welcome us and Mum soon felt comfortable with her new surroundings. Since her admission Mum has settled well and this is thanks to the professionalism and care of the management and staff.

After a difficult time with my father passing away, my mother had to go into care. The management and staff at Douglas Court have been wonderful. I have found them both supportive of me and taken excellent care of my mother and she has settled in very well. Douglas Court is a very warm and friendly

From the initial enquiry to moving Mum in three days later, we were treated in a very welcoming manner and with the utmost respect. The administration was dealt with efficiently and without fuss.
Great care was taken to get to know Mum before she set foot in the home. On arrival, a notice was out on
her door saying how devoted she is to her husband (my father) which touched her. All in all, I am comfortable and reassured by the home and its staff.

Could not be happier with the care and support given to my loved one since they moved to Douglas Court last year. All staff are welcoming, caring and it is clear to see that even at the busiest of times that all give 100% to their job.

I have had no problem in sorting my dad's care home as excellent.
In particular, the staff are professional and exceptionally caring. Whenever I phone for an update on Dad's day the information is concise, accurate and never embellished. What a wonderful home!

Attended a six-week review today, we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. The staff are always friendly and my dad is always happy and smiling. The home itself always smells fresh and clean and everyone goes the extra mile to allow him to feel as independent as possible.
Dad's wishes and dignity
are always of number one concern and are never compromised.

My mum needed emergency respite care due to her worsening anxiety and dementia. Her admission to Douglas Court was quickly arranged and she was welcomed into the care home. Every staff member from the manager to the maintenance man has made Mum feel at ease. The atmosphere is so warm and friendly and
I know she is being well cared for. She loves it so much she now wants to stay!

My dad's been at Douglas Court for over 10 years, they do an amazing job, no concerns. He's looked after well, always clean. Dad's always down in one of the rooms chatting and talking to residents and staff.

We couldn't have wished for a better care home for our mum. She was reluctant, to say the least when she first arrived last summer. This was made difficult by the fact that we haven't been able to see inside the home or seen that much of her but slowly she has settled in. She has always told us about
the wonderful staff and the care she receives. She has said more than a couple of times when we visit, she likes the hotel she's staying at! She has told us the home-cooked food is marvellous and looking on the social media website, the activities she gets involved in are better than anything I got up to during lockdown! So, a big thank you to all the staff for your ongoing support and the dedication you give to your job, especially in these difficult times.
