Moat House Care Home

The new visiting facilities at Moat House work very well for my uncle. I am able to book a 20-minute visit subject to availability by text message. I was visiting him in a gazebo in the garden but now the winter has arrived they have installed a visiting cabin which is accessed from the car park. I was greeted by a very friendly visiting host who showed me where to sit and gave advice on using the microphone. My uncle was then brought through to the other side of the Perspex window. We had a lovely chat and we were able to hear each other. My uncle is able to understand to a certain extent why I am not able to visit him inside the home which makes it easier for us. My uncle has been at Moat House for the last 2 years. He has settled well, enjoys the food and says the staff are always pleasant and very helpful. He likes to join in some of the range of activities available. In his own words- “I couldn’t be in a better home.” Well Done Moat House.

Moat House looks after my uncle so well. The staff are always cheerful, kind and thoughtful and my uncle is going from strength to strength because of their excellent care. I have been very impressed by how innovative the home has been in facilitating visits during the Covid-19 situation and how they have still carried on with all sorts of organised activities. Moat House go above and beyond in every aspect of their care of their residents.

My lovely father-in-law has been a resident of Moat House for several years. He is really happy there and extremely well looked after. It has been very hard during COVID, but we have been able to book visits outside, and it has been so reassuring. He knows about the pandemic, but we need to keep reminding him why we have to wear a mask and why we cannot come inside. The staff are lovely with him and make sure he is well wrapped up when he meets us and that we are socially distant. They give us tea or coffee and make us feel welcome. Dad loves to see us. Moat House has managed as well as possible in these difficult times, and dad tells us by phone that he is good, he likes the food, he enjoys watching sport and environment programmes on the TV, and he feels safe and secure. There are plenty of activities he can do if he wants to. We are all looking forward to the day we can have a big hug with him.

We've been very impressed with the help and ease in which my brother moved into Moat House. All queries have been addressed immediately and our brother has improved due to the social interaction within the home. Unfortunately, everyone is suffering at this time due to Covid but we feel satisfied that we have chosen the right home. Staff are wonderful and always keep us informed. Thank you, keep up the great work!

Even under extreme difficulties, Moat House staff continue to provide the highest care possible with a smile and kind word to residents and relatives alike. This is our 3rd stay at Moat House so much so that our relative has decided to make this her permanent home, a decision easily made by the consistent care provided by all staff. Keep up the good work!

Very friendly staff, always polite and helpful to residents and visitors. Residents are treated with understanding. I am so glad we chose Moat House for our dear friend. He is very well cared for and happy.

I consider that the staff and carers at the home are very caring and look after my relative to a very high standard. The home is clean and well decorated. The food is always of a good standard and plentiful.

Our first impressions were of surprise that the home was far superior to the ones we had visited before we came here. The office staff, the carers and the rooms were all of a better standard. My aunt asked us "how did you find this place - It's lovely", she said.

I am confident Mum is being cared for very well. The staff are always more than helpful. I have had a couple of meetings with the management with regard to Mum's short, medium and long term needs and all of my questions/concerns have been properly and professionally addressed.

The home is extremely well looked after and is a pleasure to visit. The recent refurbishment has raised it up another level and made a beautiful looking home.

The carers are friendly and helpful. After 5 and a half years, he is moving to be nearer family but will be sad to leave.

Highly professional staff, who are invariably gentle, kind, courteous, bright and cheerful. The staff join in enthusiastically with residents' activities. There is a very full and wide range of activities to motivate residents, including regular professional entertainers. Staff positively welcome suggestions for activities and seek views of residents and relatives. Where possible, residents are taken outside for rides and walks off premises. At regular meetings, the views of residents and representatives are sought and acted on by management. At such a meeting, a new resident commented on the positive warmth of reception. An amazing and ambitious programme of developments is underway.

Since my father's admission in February 2019, I have nothing but praise and admiration for all the staff in Moat House Care Home. From the pre-admission meeting to now, the way things have been/are handled has made my decision to place dad here so much easier.

The home is excellently run with a great team of carers and wonderful entertainments staff. It is well looked after and the food is very good.

My experience here is with the knitting club and I visit and made friends with 1 resident whom I visit weekly. I have got to know quite a few of the residents and they always seem very happy. Both the carers and activities coordinators I have come into contact with are fantastic. I was included in their Summer Fayre and Christmas Fayre and it was fantastic to see so many friends and families there.

I have volunteered at moat House and really enjoy it. The activity program is wonderful. The residents seem very happy and like joining in. The food is well presented and appetising. All staff are friendly and approachable.

When both of my parents who are in their 80’s became seriously ill at the same time, it was a very upsetting time for everyone, as myself and my sister could no longer give them the care they required. Dad is registered blind and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Mums heart condition and mobility deteriorated. Both are now cared for at Moat House Care Home. They have just had their first Christmas there and Moat House made it magical and fun with lots of Christmas activities for the residents and families. Mum and Dad enjoyed the activities leading up to Christmas especially the Christmas Eve party together, having a little dance, despite their mobility. We visit almost every day and it is so reassuring for us, as all the staff are so caring and compassionate to all the residents care needs. Despite our families difficulties, seeing Mum and Dad so happy and lovingly cared for, really was the best Christmas present for us.
