Moat House Care Home

My great-grandad lived in Moat House care home for many years. I always felt very comfortable visiting as the staff are friendly and took great care of him. Their garden was a lovely place where I and my younger siblings would go to watch the birds with Grandad. Overall, a lovely place.

My grandad lived at Moat House for seven years until he recently passed and I can honestly say it was the best care home we could have found for him. The staff were amazing and they did everything they could to keep him as happy and comfortable as possible. They were always friendly and approachable and the staff always had time for us and my grandad. The home was always clean and tidy and the food was always great. I would highly recommend Moat House to anyone looking for a care home for their loved ones.

My grandad lived at Moat House for four years and he enjoyed every single moment. He made an immense improvement with his weight, overall mood and health in general, after moving in. The carers always put the residents first and my grandad loved spending time with them, when he could. I would recommend Moat House to everyone. I can't thank them enough for what they did for my family.

My auntie had to come here for her own safety. She would not go anywhere else as she is a Burbage lady all her life. She has been made to feel special and important, and the staff are speaking and looking after her like she is their own grandmother. My auntie also told me that she is glad that she made the choice to come and live here; it brought tears to my eyes as my auntie was overwelled with the excellent care that the staff are all showing her. The activities also included her and myself in the craft afternoon, which I also loved myself. Looking forward to coming for another excellent and caring visit. Well done to all the staff at Moat House.

Wonderful care home, residents are treated with respect and well cared for. My family have seen a real improvement in my granny's attitude and outlook on life compared to the way she was prior to her residency at Moat House. She frequently takes part in a variety of activities and has really developed her social life within the care home.

My grandad received the most excellent attentive care at Moat House. He was extremely happy there, and we furnished his room just how he wanted with his familiar things around him. It was so lovely to see the rapport he had with all of the carers and staff - they were always available to discuss anything with the family and immediately shared any concerns. We would not hesitate to recommend Moat House to others and will always be grateful for the wonderful care my grandad received throughout his time there.

Well, we had heard that Moat House was good, but we didn't know it would be amazing! The decision to move to residential care can be a difficult one, but we needn't have worried. Our mum was immediately made to feel respected, nurtured, safe and cared for in her final weeks. She had a great sense of humour and laughed every day with her carers. She went to Mallory Park to watch the motorbikes because staff had heard she used to ride a bike with our dad. She struggled to eat so staff made sure she was offered her favourite things. And at the end of her life she was given so much loving care and attention. We, her family were also supported brilliantly throughout and will be forever grateful that we found such a special place for our lovely mum.

My husband came to Moat House in July from hospital for rehab. While he was in the care of Moat House, the carers and management could not be more professional, caring and kind. I certainly can't praise them enough, I would highly recommend Moat House to anyone. The perception that I was concerned about from a residential/care home, was that they were just left in a room with the TV on and just have a poor standard of care, but I was proved completely wrong with Moat House. They are exceptional to say the least.

During the few months my mother was at Moat House my mother was, with the help and support of the excellent staff, gradually beginning to gain confidence and take part in the many first-rate activities and facilities at the home. The home is undoubtedly a well-designed, well-built, very well run and very comfortable place for residents, but a care home is nothing without its staff. All of the staff at Moat House were excellent. Caring, friendly, very professional and approachable. I could not think of a better place for my mother to have spent her last months and the staff are to be congratulated on the wonderful way they run the place and care for the residents.

Since Dad arrived here in February, he has been treated with wonderful care and understanding. Everything and everyone is exceptional, and he is so happy and contented.

I would like to pay tribute to the kindness that all the carers showed my mum during her near two year stay at Moat House. But particularly in the last few weeks of her life is when their love and professionalism really came through both to Mum and her family. You were brilliant. Thank you.

My nana has been a resident in Moat House for several years and receives the highest standard of care from all the staff. With excellent facilities and regular entertainment, she couldn't be happier. Since moving to Moat House we've noticed a big change in Nana. She's now more relaxed, her anxieties have lessened and her overall health has improved. I couldn't recommend Moat House enough! They are just brilliant! Thank you for everything that you do.

My father has been a resident in Moat House for several years and without a doubt I highly recommend it. The place is very well kept and the facilities are very good. The resident's rooms are clean and well equipped and the communal areas, such as the lounges, are very nice. The garden is lovely. The staff are caring and friendly and interact with the residents in a nice way. The food is good, well prepared and enjoyed by my father. There are plenty of organised activities for the residents if they want to participate. Moat House have dealt with the Covid restrictions very well and kept us informed at all times. My father is very happy there which is perhaps the best endorsement.

We feel that granddad is safe and very well looked after at Moat House. He feels staff are always so friendly and helpful and we see this too when visiting. There are lots of activities going on and the garden is so lovely. Moat House have made visiting safe and accessible whenever regulations allowed it during the pandemic.

The care home has the welfare and happiness of its residents at its core. Residents are treated with compassion and respect and are well known by the staff. The care home provides a rich range of activities for residents to get involved with.

My family and I have been visiting our mother who is a resident for the past two and a half years. The staff are for the most part extremely kind and caring and do a great job across the board from the cleaners who work tirelessly to the activity team who do sterling work and the carers with their endless patience.

The management and company's policies are at times hard to understand and on a personal level they don't appear to apply much ethics to some of their decisions. They have however taken time to listen to our concerns as a family and hopefully will review some of their practices as a result.

Moat House, Hinkley provides the assurance to relatives that their loved ones are being cared for. My Grandad has spent a challenging year away from us but Moat House have done everything possible, during Covid, to make him and other residents safe. Where they have been able, using all restriction guidelines they have responded quickly and efficiently to allow distanced meetings, which have been so important for him and us. The staff are friendly and caring and there is an excellent programme of activities set for the residents during the week, when able to mix. Finally, the facilities and grounds offer a feeling of community and when visiting (under normal times) we feel welcomed but also able to visit the garden with him.

My father was a resident at Moat House until he died and was cared for extremely well. A close friend recently required residential care, and I had no hesitation in recommending Moat House. He is enjoying everything about living there. He finds the staff very helpful and caring.

Under the excellent management, it ensures we have a happy, well run home. There are plenty of activities one can join in with from artwork to games and quizzes to keep one's brain and body working. All the staff, no matter what their job or position is in the home are cheerful and helpful and I must give credit to our carers who respect our feelings and help us keep our dignity. In Covid lockdown, they have gone above and beyond duty. What more could anyone want?
