My mum has veen staying at The Old Vicarage since December 2025. The home is warm, welcoming and spotlessly clean. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble, the food is good quality and my mums room is light, bright and airy, any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently and the communication
is always forth coming and appropriate. Bronwyn, ellis and kacy are really caring. I am always made to feel welcome and part of The Vicarage family! I hav found every member of staff to be compassionate, hard working and dedicated to make the residents life happy and to feel safe, in a place they can call home.

Our first impression of The Old Vicarage was wow! What a lovely airy place it is. Welcomed by very friendly staff, clean and tidy and happy and relaxed atmosphere. Uncle had been living alone for many yrs we felt that @ 96 years old he needed some help. We couldn't have chosen better for him. He's come
out of his shell and he mixes with the other guests, (we call them guests) Its just like a luxury hotel, staff are wonderful, very attentive and efficient on all fronts. Uncle calls The Old Vicarage his home, we are so glad we chose to bring him here and so is he. Thank you for everything, we appreciate all you do.
Reply from Michelle Chambers, Admissions Manager at The Old VicarageThank you so much for taking the time to share such a lovely review. We're delighted to hear that your first impression of The Old Vicarage was a positive one and that your uncle has settled in so well. It means a great deal to us to know that he feels at home, has come out of his shell, and is enjoying the company of others.
Your kind words about our team, the atmosphere, and the care provided are truly appreciated and will be shared with the staff, who work very hard to make The Old Vicarage a welcoming and supportive place to live. We're honoured that you entrusted us with your uncle's care and are so pleased that both he and your family are happy with your choice.

Both of my parents have been residents at Kiwi House for 18 months now, and I am delighted with the flexibility shown by the management and senior caregivers of the home. This flexibility has allowed them to stay together despite one needing memory care and one not. The rooms are lovely and spacious
with room for their personal effects. The caregivers are unfailingly friendly and pleasant with big smiles. They always greet residents by their first names. My parents love the little garden with the path around it. There are many activities for them to join in if they want to, and a special celebration with a singer included "their" chosen songs because it was their anniversary. It seems as if management and caregivers really do know each individual's needs and situation and are responsive and supportive towards family members if there are any issues or questions.

From the moment we placed Mum in Bowood Court we became aware of the friendliness of all the staff, from the carers, activities staff cleaners, kitchen, admin and management.
The level of care in what was a difficult time was wonderful to Mum and us, and it made the family confident the right decision
had been made.
The home is constantly being cleaned, there are plenty of activities and some lovely areas inside & out to relax in, especially the budgerigar aviary.

Mum was happy here and very well cared for. The staff were very attentive and had her best interests at heart when caring for her. They kept me up-to-date with any changes and always sought my opinion before making changes to her care plan. Her room was comfortable and tidy. Medical intervention was
requested promptly when required and I was informed at every stage. I want to thank all the staff for their care and couldn't have wished for a better environment for my mum to see out her days.

Myself and my sisters viewed this care home initially 6 months ago and found it very comfortable and homely, with many different activities on offer, including hairdressers and chiropodists. When the time came for my aunt to have the need to be cared for, we didn't hesitate to show her what was on offer.
Her mind was very accepting of her new accommodation and she has been very happy there for the past 4 weeks.

On 5th July Kiwi House held 'Kiwi Fest', a day festival of music and entertainment for the residents, and their family and friends. What a fantastic event. The music and entertainment were excellent and there was glitter stands, food stalls as well as singing and dancing. The garden was decorated with
streamers and balloons and the patio turned into a stage. It was fantastic because Kiwi provided us with such a happy relaxed environment to share fun times with our loved ones. I am sure an amazing amount of effort has gone into preparing and delivering the day, top marks! As well as this event, over the past 2 months Mum has had trips out to a riding school for afternoon tea and Newstead Abbey for a picnic, again lovely activities she has really enjoyed. All the staff we deal with are so helpful, kind and caring. I would recommend Kiwi House to others who may be looking for a care home that both cares and is a home.
