My dad moved into The Old Vicarage in March '25. In January '26 his mobility deteriorated, and I was so worried we would have to move him, but in Feb it was confirmed this would be his forever home. I cannot praise all the staff enough. They are so understanding and caring with their residents, especially
the ones with dementia. Eventhough my dad needs to be hoisted, he still gets to go out on their trips - big shoutout to the entertainment team. Families are always kept updated, and treated with the utmost respect.
Reply from Michelle Chambers, Admissions Manager at The Old VicarageThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words
We are delighted to hear that your dad has found his forever home with us and that our team has been able to support both him and your family throughout his journey. Providing compassionate, person-centred care is at the heart of everything we do, and it means so much to know that this has made a positive difference, especially during changes in your dad's mobility needs.
Your special mention of our care and entertainment teams will be greatly appreciated. We firmly believe that every resident should continue to enjoy meaningful activities and outings, regardless of the support they require, and we're pleased your dad has been able to remain involved.
Thank you again for your trust and support.

My dad has moved here for respite after time in hospital. He is absolutely thriving and is able to be as independent as he chooses to be. He is encouraged to join in with activities or to sit quietly as he wishes. We're really pleased with has well he is being cared for and the support from the staff
with visiting services eg eye test. Thank you all so much.

My mother first arrived at Kiwi House in December 2022 as a result of vascular dementia affecting the ability to look after herself.
Kiwi House have always been attentive to her needs, making sure they treated her with respect.
They had a person-centred approach, which showed in the individual approach
to each resident.

My uncle, Martin has been a resident at The Old Vicarage since Nov'25. He had a tricky start due to being dishcarged from hospital with an infection and needing to be isolated in his room. These challenges were dealt with in the best possible way by the staff and he soon settled in. I really enjoy visiting
and have a good relationship with the staff and management. Communication is fantastic and any issues/ queries are dealt with promptly. We as a family are very happy with the care.
Reply from Michelle Chambers, Admissions Manager at The Old VicarageThank you for taking the time to share your family's experience at The Old Vicarage. We are so pleased to hear that Martin has settled in well following what must have been a very challenging start after his hospital discharge.

We're also delighted to hear that you enjoy visiting, have built positive relationships with our staff and management team, and that communication has been clear and responsive throughout.

My mum has now been at Kiwi House, Derby for over 2 years and I am very impressed with the standard of care she had received from housekeeping through to management. As mum's care needs have increased both she and the family have been supported through those changes. Staff are all well trained in dementia
and the building is well designed so it looks like a 4 star hotel but feels like a home. Residents are encouraged to keep the skills they have through well planned individual care and activities. Despite her dementia mum regularly tells us she enjoys living at Kiwi House and feels safe there.
Reply from Lexie Jex, Marketing Assistant at Kiwi House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share such a lovely review. My mum has veen staying at The Old Vicarage since December 2025. The home is warm, welcoming and spotlessly clean. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble, the food is good quality and my mums room is light, bright and airy, any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently and the communication
is always forth coming and appropriate. Bronwyn, ellis and kacy are really caring. I am always made to feel welcome and part of The Vicarage family! I hav found every member of staff to be compassionate, hard working and dedicated to make the residents life happy and to feel safe, in a place they can call home.

Our first impression of The Old Vicarage was wow! What a lovely airy place it is. Welcomed by very friendly staff, clean and tidy and happy and relaxed atmosphere. Uncle had been living alone for many yrs we felt that @ 96 years old he needed some help. We couldn't have chosen better for him. He's come
out of his shell and he mixes with the other guests, (we call them guests) Its just like a luxury hotel, staff are wonderful, very attentive and efficient on all fronts. Uncle calls The Old Vicarage his home, we are so glad we chose to bring him here and so is he. Thank you for everything, we appreciate all you do.

Both of my parents have been residents at Kiwi House for 18 months now, and I am delighted with the flexibility shown by the management and senior caregivers of the home. This flexibility has allowed them to stay together despite one needing memory care and one not. The rooms are lovely and spacious
with room for their personal effects. The caregivers are unfailingly friendly and pleasant with big smiles. They always greet residents by their first names. My parents love the little garden with the path around it. There are many activities for them to join in if they want to, and a special celebration with a singer included "their" chosen songs because it was their anniversary. It seems as if management and caregivers really do know each individual's needs and situation and are responsive and supportive towards family members if there are any issues or questions.

Mum was happy here and very well cared for. The staff were very attentive and had her best interests at heart when caring for her. They kept me up-to-date with any changes and always sought my opinion before making changes to her care plan. Her room was comfortable and tidy. Medical intervention was
requested promptly when required and I was informed at every stage. I want to thank all the staff for their care and couldn't have wished for a better environment for my mum to see out her days.
