Family-run Moat House Care Home offers award-winning affordable luxury in the beautiful conservation area of Burbage village, Leicestershire.

Residents are cared for by the same friendly faces with a well-trained team who ensure high standards of residential, daycare and dementia care in a comfortable, caring and compassionate environment.

Wellbeing and happiness is at the heart of the home and dedicated activity coordinators provide residents with a daily fun, engaging and stimulating social programme designed to encourage a fulfilled, happy and enriched life.

In the dementia care suites, residents have access to sensory areas, reminiscence activities and memory boxes. With its own minibus, Moat House residents frequently get out and about on day trips to places of local interest.

Well-equipped facilities include spacious, tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms, a cinema, a traditional pub, hair salon, and lifestyle kitchens where residents are encouraged to assist with everyday tasks such as making a cup of tea or laying the table for dinner. Tasty home-cooked meals are served in dining rooms, which overlook the attractive gardens.

Set amidst two acres of mature trees, Moat House has beautiful sensory gardens with an aviary, patio seating area, water feature as well as a relaxing spinney moat walk.

My mum went into respite at Moat House during a very stressful time. During the whole time there the organisation, management and care were all exemplary. She was very anxious about going into a new environment but the expertise and kindness of the staff made her stay enjoyable. The only reason she
moved was to go to a care home with my Dad and to move nearer to family. Exemplary care, in an exemplary care home. Thank you.

On our first viewing some months ago, my dad and I knew this would be the best place for him. We have not been let down. The care, support and friendliness shown to Dad and his family have been exceptional by the staff and management. He celebrated his 90th birthday, a wonderful and memorable occasion
with his family, fully supported and catered for by Moat House. Recently after Dad fell and broke his hip, following 2 weeks in hospital, his improvement at Moat House after 2 days is quite incredible. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

My mother has been in Moat House Care Home for over 12 months. I cannot fault the care she has received. All the staff are so friendly and have made her feel "at home", safe and secure. She has a beautiful spacious room. The garden is a little haven that residents have access to. I have only very positive
comments to make and thoroughly recommend it.

My wife has been a resident since January 2020. From the late stage of Alzheimer', she obviously had deteriorated now and cannot carry out any functions of life herself. During this time, her every need has been excellently dealt with by the wonderful staff at the care home.

I would like to thank all the staff at Moat House Care Home for their kindness, care and support to my husband and me during his stay.
Sadly he passed away in September but his care was excellent and the staff were very supportive and kind.
He loved his time there enjoyed the activities and especially
the musical afternoons. I was always made welcome and kept informed of any decisions made for him. Carers are very special people so many thanks to you all (especially to tall trees).
It's a lovely home and we loved sitting in your lovely gardens drinking tea and homemade cakes.

Moat House staff, especially the manager, have been absolutely exceptional when taking care of my grandad. They’ve helped him wherever and whenever he needs it and have been extremely supportive of him since his time there compared to the last care home he was in. The care home has made a world of difference

Exceptional Care. My Mum has late-stage dementia, insulin-dependent diabetes and a weak chest among other things and has been in Moat House since 2019. During this time, she has had four life-threatening illnesses and, if it wasn't for the exceptional care shown by the carers at Moat House, she certainly
wouldn't be alive today. Her needs are many including needing hoisting, continence care, and constant supervision. Even though she doesn't communicate, the carers always include her in the many activities that they provide. They make sure that her Joy For Life robotic cat is always by her side and, if she doesn't want to cuddle the cat, they ensure that she has a teddy or some other item to cuddle. I'm so grateful for the care and attention that she gets, I can't thank everyone enough. Writing this, I'm close to tears. Thank goodness she's with you, Moat House.

My Mum has been in Moat House Care Home on respite care since the end of December 2022 following a stay in hospital. We have decided to make the stay permanent as a result of the excellent care. She was hesitant to interact with others at first and the staff were very kind and considerate in encouraging
her to have lunch in the lounge and in attending the activities. She is actively involved in a number of activities throughout the week and is gaining confidence in being in social situations again. Mum is getting wonderful care 24/7 and we can relax and enjoy visiting her without having to worry about her falling and being in difficult situations at home. Mum is mentally stimulated every day and can choose to relax in her lovely room if she prefers. We are completely in 'the loop' with medication and care changes and nothing is too much trouble. We are so grateful for everyone's help in the transition process for Mum's move into Moat House from her own home. Thank you to all of the staff in Moat House and at Head Office.

I am submitting a review after six months and a well-managed covid outbreak! I cannot fault Moat House!
Mum has now been a resident for six months. At the age of 94 she continues to mourn what she has lost but now also appreciates what she has gained. Through systemic failure, care at home was insufficient.
Care at Moat House- amazing! I love to visit. At the age of 94 and having led a good life, my mum deserves the best possible care and she gets it 24/7!
Every member of the Moat House team is commendable. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum is well looked after and I would accept nothing less for her. Her care is everything I would wish for. She has company and stimulation. She is hugely grateful for the efforts of the team that care for her and so am I. Long may it continue! Thank you to all concerned.

Grandad has been at the care home for many years and I have been so grateful for all of the love and support that he received in his time there by the wonderful staff. He sadly passed away in April 2022 and, although it was hard for all of us, it was lovely to see him and spend time with him as much

The carers at Moat House Care Home were professional, friendly, kind and very accommodating whilst my dad was in for respite care. Dad's room was very clean and the cleaners and maintenance staff were brilliant. The events team work really hard to come up with innovative ideas to keep residents involved
and entertained and the trips out are a lovely idea. My dad put on weight, so the food is recommended. Well done and thank you to everyone.

My great-grandad lived in Moat House care home for many years. I always felt very comfortable visiting as the staff are friendly and took great care of him. Their garden was a lovely place where I and my younger siblings would go to watch the birds with Grandad. Overall, a lovely place.

My grandad lived at Moat House for seven years until he recently passed and I can honestly say it was the best care home we could have found for him. The staff were amazing and they did everything they could to keep him as happy and comfortable as possible. They were always friendly and approachable

My auntie had to come here for her own safety. She would not go anywhere else as she is a Burbage lady all her life. She has been made to feel special and important, and the staff are speaking and looking after her like she is their own grandmother. My auntie also told me that she is glad that she made
the choice to come and live here; it brought tears to my eyes as my auntie was overwelled with the excellent care that the staff are all showing her. The activities also included her and myself in the craft afternoon, which I also loved myself. Looking forward to coming for another excellent and caring visit. Well done to all the staff at Moat House.

Wonderful care home, residents are treated with respect and well cared for. My family have seen a real improvement in my granny's attitude and outlook on life compared to the way she was prior to her residency at Moat House. My grandad received the most excellent attentive care at Moat House. He was extremely happy there, and we furnished his room just how he wanted with his familiar things around him. It was so lovely to see the rapport he had with all of the carers and staff - they were always available to discuss anything
with the family and immediately shared any concerns. We would not hesitate to recommend Moat House to others and will always be grateful for the wonderful care my grandad received throughout his time there.
