My mother moved into Oakleigh almost 2-years ago after a bad experience at another home. Mum seems to be happy and settled in the home. The family and I cannot be more pleased with the excellent staffs care for Mum.
The home is clean, which is also an indicator of a good home and mum has got a really
nice room. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for an excellent care home with dedicated staff for their loved ones.

My mother-in-law has been a resident here for just over a year, and she is very happy and settled here. She has right from day one been treated as part of the family, all the members of staff are so friendly, caring, and nothing is too much trouble for them. We also feel we are part of the family whenever
we visit, although at the time of writing we are all on lockdown so not able to visit, we call/video call her, and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff whenever we ring. I must say in the present situation; they have been outstanding.
Before she came here we looked at other care homes, but they didn’t feel right, but as soon as the door was opened to us here, we felt so welcomed by the manager and her fabulous team. We were shown around, and we felt like a family this was the best place for her.
We are so glad we found Oakleigh and cannot thank the staff enough.

Mum has been in Oakleigh for almost two years. We could not have chosen a better place for mum; to make her home. The care she gets is outstanding as are the manager and carers.
Now more than ever, with what's happening, we are so pleased Mum is in their safe hands. They go the extra mile with everything
from regular updates, telephone calls plus video calls meaning we can see our loved ones are well.
We would certainly recommend Oakleigh to anyone looking for an outstanding care home.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Oakleigh for nearly two years and is very happy there.
She is well looked after by the manager and her excellent team. We are kept well informed of her wellbeing during the current Coronavirus crisis and look forward to visiting again when it's all over.

Oakleigh is an outstanding care home with outstanding people who do ordinary, everyday things extraordinarily well.
That means the world to families; knowing that loved ones are cared for as individuals.
Oakleigh can’t replace a family, but they are part of the family.

My lovely mum has vascular dementia and has been a resident since March 2018; following an unhappy experience in another home. The staff treat the residents with respect and dignity and have restored our faith in the care system. Mum has settled in well and is very well cared for in a clean and safe
environment. The staff have especially handled the last few weeks during the Covid-19 crisis impeccably. We have been getting regular group updates on our loved ones' wellbeing, which has been a great comfort to us. We talk to Mum regularly on video chat, which is lovely as we can see that she is well and very content. The lovely staff are always available to answer any queries and concerns.

We have been delighted with the care Mum has received in Oakleigh for the last four and a half years. The staff are very friendly but always professional in the way they carry out the care of the residents. Mum is always nicely dressed with coordinating items of clothing, and her hair is always tidy.
The residents are based mainly in the lounge areas in the day, and there is always a member of staff present to ensure their comfort and safety as well as to engage with them in cheerful conversation.
The food is tasty and nourishing, prepared fresh each day. The lounge areas are comfortable and homely and are cleaned frequently. In short, both the care and the accommodation at Oakleigh are of the highest of standards and at no time have we had any reason to be less than pleased with everything.

My mum went into Oakleigh when she could no longer live alone at home.
She settled from the moment she arrived and was made to feel very welcome and comfortable in her new surroundings. Recently Mum has had a spell in the hospital.
On returning to Oakleigh, the manager and staff could not have done
more for my mum and still are. Encouraging her to eat, drink and making sure she was looked after in every possible way. Always looking at ways to improve her quality of life. We as a family, cannot thank them enough.
We would certainly recommend Oakleigh.

I consider this care home to be extremely good. My mother is very well cared for physically and mentally. She takes part in the activities they provide for the residents and she's always clean and dressed well. Medically the manager has sorted out her medication with the doctors and there has been a
vast improvement with her mental health and improvement with her appetite. I would not wish for her to be anywhere else.

My Mum has been in Oakleigh for 3 years 3 months. I feel extremely lucky that my Mum is in Oakleigh where she receives marvellous, compassionate care. All her needs are cared for by all the carers with love and attention twenty-four hours a day. Whenever I visit I am welcomed and feel part of the family.
I feel blessed every day Mum is at Oakleigh. I would thoroughly recommend Oakleigh to anyone as an excellent care home.

My mum has been in Oakleigh since mid-2018. I have always been very pleased with the care and attention she has there. A homely space for my mum to see out her final years, where it is calm, clean and comfortable. The room my mum has is lovely and adequate for her needs. The staff are all lovely, very
approachable and nothing is too much trouble. Any issues or concerns you have can be raised with them and are dealt with swiftly and efficiently. The care and consideration shown to her varying and ever-changing needs are second to none. Highly recommended.

Since my Grandma became a resident at Oakleigh myself and all of her family have been both pleased and impressed with the care that is in place for her at the home. With 23 rooms, the size is ideal, where the number of residents is small enough that the care for each individual along with their specific
needs are clearly catered for. The home is clean, homely and well equipped to deal with my Grandmas specific needs with dementia. During her time there her condition has deteriorated as the disease has progressed and the alterations in her care needs have been efficient and smooth. The staff are friendly, approachable and clearly care for the needs of each resident. They treat my Grandma with the dignity and compassion she needs along with kindness and gentleness. This is an excellent home and I would certainly recommend it to anyone else looking to place a loved one in to care for the last years of their lives.

On visiting my sister-in-law's mum who is a resident, I found that the home was very clean, the size of her room was ideal to meet all her needs and very homely. The rest of the home was well presented. I was told that the food is very good and home cooked. It certainly smelt lovely when I visited.
The staff were all very caring to all the residents and I felt that everyone was well looked after.
All staff were very friendly. The resident I was visiting seemed very happy and contented.
The home was tidy and uncluttered with a lovely little conservatory overlooking the very well kept gardens.
I would certainly recommend this home to friends and relatives.

The care at the home is wonderful. All of the staff are extremely caring and know all of the residents. My mother has been in the home for just over three years and during that time has been well looked after.
The home is always clean and is kept at a comfortable temperature. Whilst my mother does
not like to participate in many of the activities, the staff do their best to ensure that all of the residents get an opportunity to participate if they want to. All of us are very pleased with the care that my mother gets.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.950)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.950) out of 10 for Oakleigh is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.950 for Oakleigh is calculated as follows: ( (342 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 358 Ratings = 4.95
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Oakleigh is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
