During her lengthy stay in the care home, my mother was always treated with respect. The staff showed a great deal of patience with her at all times. Towards the end of her stay, the staff never stinted to go the extra mile. She was kept calm and comfortable and could not have been in a better place.
I will be forever grateful to all the staff for taking such good care of her.

From the moment Dad arrived at Rowans Care Home, it was clear that he was in wonderful hands. Our entire family is truly grateful for the wonderful care and support he received during his five-month stay, especially after his hospital visit following a fall.


The staff at Rowans are not only professional

but also incredibly warm and friendly. They created a nurturing environment that made a significant difference in Dad's well-being. It was heart-warming to witness the genuine affection and attention he received from everyone there.


While the only reason for moving Dad was the distance from our family, the farewell he received was nothing short of amazing. It was an emotional send-off that brought tears to my eyes, clearly reflecting the strong bonds he had built with the staff.


We cannot thank you enough for the love and care you provided to Dad. It brought us peace of mind knowing he was so well looked after. You all made a lasting impact on his life and ours.

My mum has been at the Rowans for a few years now. Having been accepted there due to declining health, it couldn't have come at a better time for her.
Mum is looked after which gives us the peace of mind that if anything was to happen She would be cared for immediately. All of the staff are wonderful,
including the manager. Not only are they happy they can't do enough for Mum and us as a family. They are always happy to see us and often have a chat with us about all sorts they become part of your family as well. They work hard and yes they sometimes say they are tired but that doesn't stop them from doing a job thanklessly. The home is clean and tidy and you are made to feel welcome. If we have a problem or issue they are always there willing to help in any way they can and if they cannot do it immediately they will get it sorted.
Can't praise them enough.

My aunt went into The Rowans to be near us after the death of her husband. She was only there for ten weeks before her death. In her time there all I can say is all the staff were wonderful to her and her family. She had slight dementia and was treated with respect, love and care and not spoken down
to. Four members of staff were wonderful keeping us well informed of her health condition. Updating us when a paramedic or when the doctor had been. All rooms have been decorated and refurnished to a high standard. All areas were spotless and clean. My aunt was always clean and well-dressed when we visited her. A member of staff came up often to encourage her to take part in events but she wasn't up to it. She was really good with my aunt, always cheery with her and would have a chat even though my aunt didn't participate in any entertainment. My brother and I were so happy we chose The Rowans because the staff gave us peace of mind leaving her with them knowing she would be well cared for.

My mother-in-law spent the last 8 months of her life being well cared for in the care home. She was treated with respect and her hygiene was always good. The morning of her passing was handled so respectfully, from the phone call alerting us right through to her being taken to the funeral director.
We could not wish for better treatment by all the staff concerned, they were wonderful! I can't speak highly enough of them. They now do a fabulous job of caring for my father-in-law.

Big mistake putting my mother into this care home, her condition went downhill faster than a runaway train.
So many staff are not properly trained. Rooms are small with no bathroom. Meals were not that good, no regular kitchen staff. Poorly managed.

My mum was discharged from hospital to the care home in November 2020 and passed away on the 6th of March 2024.
The staff were caring and attentive during this time. Always helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble given the circumstances.

I visit an elderly gentleman with late stages of dementia who was moved to The Rowans Care Home from another Care Home. He can be difficult to manage with personal care but the staff are amazing with him and treat him with respect and dignity. His speech and interaction are so much better at The Rowans,
the staff always chat to the residents when walking past or helping them. The meals are lovely and plentiful with a choice, staff always going around with tea and biscuits. The rooms and communal areas always clean.
Would definitely recommend The Rowans, staff work hard and lovely. Well done!

My mother lived in the home for over three years. The care she received was superb, especially at the end. We were always welcomed too. Her dietary needs were catered for, the building was clean and staff members were caring and good-mannered. Thank you.

My mum has been in The Rowans nearly one year. The care home is absolutely brilliant. The staff are amazing, they are so good with Mum. They look after her needs, Mum has lovely meals. The carer is so kind to Mum, she is like our family now. The Rowans is like home from home.

I have been visiting a friend for a few months. I find it a very pleasant experience as the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Cannot comment on value for money as I am not aware of the cost of the residency. It seems to be a very good home from my experience when visiting my friend.

The Rowans Care Home is a welcoming, friendly care home. The staff should be proud of the way they care for their residents. They are very attentive, hardworking and dedicated in the way they work to ensure all residents' needs are met. Our sister has been a resident since August 2022, since our mother
passed away, who she had loved with all her life. It was very upsetting and difficult for her and the family to find a residential place to suit her needs. The Rowans has done this above and beyond! They are very supportive and encourage her in every way. This is due to their dedication towards our sister who is now very content. As a family, we hold The Rowans staff in high esteem. All of the staff should be very proud of their continuing care they provide for all of the residents.

My husband has only been with you since July and I can see a difference in him already. The staff are very caring and look after the residents very, very well. He was previously in a private care home but seems much more comfortable with yourself.

The staff at the Rowans have always been very caring friendly and helpful since my mother moved in December 2022. I did have some concerns about the management. However, management has changed and I am delighted to have seen improvements in such a short space of time. The biggest is the introduction
of a key worker system which has worked in social care for many years. I know it is a great benefit to the people supported. I look forward to seeing more improvements under the guidance of the excellent new manager.

My auntie was at the Rowens for over 2.5 years with dementia. I was a frequent visitor. It's a very homely, clean and spacious place and the meals were varied and tasty. All the staff went over and above their duties to give excellent care and support while maintaining my auntie's independence for as
long as possible. The staff are very professional, caring compassionate and loving. There was regular entertainment and activities. Communication was good. I will be forever grateful for the kindness and love shown to my auntie, and the support and care I was given. I had peace of mind knowing she was well cared for not only physically but mentally and emotionally too. If you find yourself in the terrifying position of needing care for your loved one then I highly recommend the Rowens. I’m not one for reviews normally but I witnessed on a regular basis the care, hard work and dedication to enhance the lives of not only my aunties but other residents and it needed acknowledgement and many thanks!

My mother moved into The Rowans Care Home in February 2022 following a series of falls. The staff at The Rowans were very helpful in trying to make her feel at home, filling hot water bottle for her at night which was important to her comfort, getting new carpet and heater in her room. Mum thought the
food at the home was good. Mum had an ensuite room which she was very happy with.
My brother and I were not local so phone communication was important and staff were always happy to take the phone handset to her.
Staff looked after Mum well with frequent checks as she continued to have falls. In September Mum had a fall and broke her hip and she deteriorated physically and mentally after this. Staff did everything to make Mum comfortable and worked well with medical staff and daily nurse visits. They kept us well informed by phone and email.
Mum died in December, staff had alerted us and we were able to be there. The staff were very sensitive and caring both to Mum and to us.
