Always find the staff pleasant and welcoming they respond to the needs of residents. Having residents with a variety of conditions the staff appear to be versatile and able to cope. My relatives seem to be happy and contented, I feel confident that this continues when I am not there. Overall I am satisfied with The Rowans.

The care my mother has recieved over the last 4 years has been very good. I have found the staff very friendly and supportive to me and the family. The staff have always consulted me on any issues regarding my mother's care and wellbeing.

During this period of lockdown, the staff have kept me informed of my mother's health and the overall position regarding the home.

My Mum had previously stayed for respite before becoming a permanent resident due to her second stroke and dementia. We chose this home as it is always clean and inviting. The staff is fantastic. They have genuine care and empathy whilst also having good sense of humour with all. I am always made to feel welcome when I visit. There is a nice atmosphere in the home all round.

Exceptionally caring and compassionate staff, nothing is too much trouble and given the current health crisis; they have been highly professional. The home is clean and welcoming, and my mother-in-law feels safe and very settled.

My sister and I made the very hard decision to place Mum into this care home last July 2019. At first, we thought we'd made the right decision and mum appeared to be very well looked after, however as time went on, Mum became more withdrawn and she looked at times dirty and unhappy. I even had to ask for Mum to be showered! Mum lost weight and the staff when I called all gave a different version of mums wellbeing. On two visits Mum had 'funny turns' and I had to request for a doctor to be called as nothing had been done. 9 months on and Mum has sadly and suddenly passed away (09.04.2020) I'm still waiting for a call from the home regarding my mum's personal things (to which they have lost her jewellery) and no condolences have ever been made/offered it's like my Mum never existed. I have sent various emails and I am still awaiting replies after 11 days. In this difficult time, I am saddened by their lack of response and decency.

My stay here has been quite satisfactory, having been very well looked after. The staff have been very friendly, very promptly catering to my needs and questions. If I were to name my favourite carers it would be a long list. IF I have future need of this kind of care, I would be happy to stay here again - no complaints.

I cannot fault The Rowans at all. After a bad experience in another home, Mum moved here in September 2019. She has dementia, so moving her to a home was a dramatic experience, not only for her but for us too. All the staff made mum and us feel extremely welcome and at home. I feel comfortable to actually leave Mum in their care, as I trust them. People with dementia are all different, all have their own little traits and the staff relate to each resident as an individual. Mum is no angel, but the compassion that they show to her is second to none. No one is left in a chair, they are encouraged to move around and 'be themselves'. Activities are organised and diets carefully monitored and adjusted when needed. Every person who works at The Rowans, in my opinion, deserves a medal.

Mum has been in the care home for over three years. She needs lots of care and is in bed all the time now due to illness. Today the nurse came to re-dress Mum's bed sores, both the nurse and care staff showed great care talking to Mum, explaining what they were doing and kept asking if she was alright.

I thanked them for their care in looking after Mum.

My mother moved into the care home on 27th December 2018 from a different care home. What a difference it is here. The staff are very friendly and helpful, it is extremely clean and the rooms are nice.
On the management and admin side of things, I can't say it enough as to how helpful they have been to me, even giving me directions to various places.

The grounds are nice and I can't wait until the warmer weather when they will show up even better.

Mum went into respite when Dad was taken into hospital. She was apprehensive. The Rowans is a lovely place, the staff were helpful and friendly. The care was great and although staff are busy they always make time for the people staying and family. When the time comes I wouldn't hesitate to call them to see if they can help.

My mum, who has Alzheimer's, recently spent two weeks at The Rowans for respite care. We weren't sure what to expect as this was a first-time visit and Mum was apprehensive, however, she seems to have enjoyed her time there and has returned home more relaxed. The bedroom was pleasant, quite like a B&B room in fact.

There are various lounges - small and large - and the dining areas have a welcoming feel and clean appearance. Mum particularly enjoyed the food. There appear to be plenty of activities going on daily but no one has to join in unless they want to. There always seemed to be plenty of staff members around and they all were cheerful and knew my mum by name. Obviously being in a care home is not like being in your own home but I think Mum, who lives alone normally, found it easy to feel at home and described her stay there as like being on holiday.

The environment and atmosphere is very friendly, there is always someone to ask and happy to help. The care and support my uncle has received has been very good, however, I do feel sometimes I have had to address some of the things I wanted doing a couple of times.

My uncle is always treated with dignity, I feel he feels respected by the nurses, some, in particular, listen to him intently. Staff are always available to talk, some know my uncle very well and have a good relationship with him. The management is excellent and have always been there, they are always happy to listen to your concerns and will resolve them the best way they can. Rooms are clean and presentable, they are hoovered and cleaned by staff regularly. Staff also come round to rooms of the residents to see how they're doing, they also collect them for meal times. The facilities and activities are excellent, always entertainment on and something to do. I feel its a safe environment for my uncle and he gets good quality care for the money.

In my opinion, not suitable for people in later stages of Dementia/Alzheimers, not caring enough, no compassion from Management and majority of staff.
