The staff are all friendly and always pop in to check on Mum when I've been to visit. She's well fed and very well looked after. She enjoys the singing and dancing.

I came to The Willows Care Home after I hurt my arm for three weeks. The care I have received has been second to none and I can't fault any of the staff. The food has been amazing and all fresh and home cooked. Everyone has been so warm and welcoming and I would definitely recommend.

Mum has only been at The Willows Care Home for a short time but already she feels at home. Everyone is very friendly and respectful of Mum's needs. There are a variety of activities that Mum is encouraged to join in with but doesn't feel pressured if she's not in the mood. My family have felt welcomed
by all the staff.

I visit an elderly friend and am always impressed with the friendliness of the staff and how they interact with him. Of all the care homes I have visited, this is the only one I would consider living in.

Lovely atmosphere, happy to leave my aunty here at The Willows after worrying about her going into care. All the staff are extremely caring and friendly. MY sister and I checked out several homes in preparation for her reaching this stage of her life and can honestly say it's the only one where residents
seemed relaxed, happy and content. My aunt has been here for 2 weeks now and really seems to have settled in very quickly and is happy.

In the short period that my parents-in-law have been at The Willows, the care they have received is absolutely second to none. All the staff, whatever their position, cannot do enough. Their approach to understanding our families needs are always paramount. I would totally recommend the Willows to any
family looking for the best care for a family member.

Although the home is not the most modern or built to cater for those in wheelchairs, the staff are friendly and help everyone to make the most of themselves. There is a nice atmosphere around the home, could do with sprucing up a bit.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at The Willows Care Home

We would like to thank you for your kind comments regarding our staff and the atmosphere within our home. It means a lot to us to know our residents are enjoying their stay with us, and that their families are happy with the person centered care we strive to provide. We acknowledge that our home environment is appearing a bit tired in places, but we are excited to say that there are plans in place for a refurbishment of our home in 2022 as part of our ongoing commitment to our home.

A very welcoming home, caring and friendly approach plainly seen to residents and their families. Staff very helpful, show great interest in getting to know individual residents in caring for them. Good sized, comfortable rooms and my father reports "very good food". The peace of mind for our family
in knowing that our dad/grandad is being looked after is priceless.

For the short time, my relative was a resident, I was very happy with his care. Due to Covid, his illness and disabilities, unfortunately, he did not have the experience of all the facilities available. The staff were all very kind and caring to both of us, and the home is beautiful.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.305)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.305) out of 10 for The Willows Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.505 for The Willows Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 93 Ratings = 4.505
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Willows Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
