Always found the staff helpful and caring looking after my husband who has been at The Willows over a year. They do everything for him as he is unable to look after himself. This care home is very homely and I, as a visitor, am always welcome.

I would like to commend this care home. My mother has been living there since June 2015. I cannot stress too strongly how well she is cared for. She has engaged in many of the activities and all of the staff are caring and considerate. It is such a relief to know that she is being so well cared for.
She is happy. I am happy and the food is good too.

I visit my friend every week in the home. She is well cared for and finds the staff friendly and caring. The staff make every effort to organise events and entertainment in the lounge although my friend prefers to keep to her room as she is quite a private person, she is aware that she can join in whenever
she wishes. She enjoys the meals provided and really appreciates being in her room when she is feeling our of sorts. She also feels safe and secure something very important to her.

My aunt was a resident at The Willows for four years, during which she was for the most part very content. The staff looked after her well and were concerned for her needs, but also her wants and wishes. On my visits to my aunt, I found the staff friendly, courteous and efficient and there would generally
be someone popping in to check on my aunt and perhaps have a quick chat with her. My aunt sadly died at The Willows but I believe this was absolutely the best situation for her and I would like to thank the staff for their kindness throughout.

Found staff very friendly and caring in all ways. Nothing seems too much trouble, very willing to help if possible. I feel very comfortable when I come to visit my husband. Unable to state too much as he has only been at The Willows three weeks.

I was sent to The Willows at Hinckley after being in hospital for nearly a fortnight. This was to give my husband a break and to give the family time to get a bedroom set up for me downstairs near the bathroom. Some of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly this brightened my stay. The main problem
was I was not used to eating very much so could not enjoy the main meals, but, I did enjoy what I was able to eat. It was good my husband and daughter could come and join me for Sunday dinner (the Turkey was delicious) Thank you for my welcome and time I spent with you.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.305)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.305) out of 10 for The Willows Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.505 for The Willows Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 93 Ratings = 4.505
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Willows Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?

“Kindness for me means putting our residents at the centre of everything we do and providing care and support at all times.”

As someone who has worked in the health and social care sector for over a decade, rising from carer to senior carer then deputy manager and then home manager, Olayide has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.

Olayide closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Olayide remarked:

“First and foremost, I enjoy meeting residents and relatives and understanding their needs and requirements. I operate an open-door policy to discuss any questions or concerns residents and their loved ones may have and encourage relatives to visit the home to develop good relationships, which further support those we care for.

From a management perspective, I am committed to creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere, where everyone works as a team. I have installed an effective quality assurance and monitoring system to supervise all staff to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of residents and staff is promoted and protected.”

Olayide has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievements being pursuing her dreams and equipping herself with knowledge and in education.

Outside of work, Olayide enjoys spending time with her sons and her husband, as well as relaxing watching movies, listening to music, and reading. She loves travelling and especially likes a day out in the countryside or at the seaside.
