Although my husband has only been here one week he has really settled well. He enjoys the food and is happy with the staff which is all good for me abling me to relax a bit.

I have found the manager and staff extremely helpful any time I ask questions and have always got time to speak.

A very welcoming home, caring and friendly approach plainly seen to residents and their families. Staff very helpful, show great interest in getting to know individual residents in caring for them. Good sized, comfortable rooms and my father reports "very good food". The peace of mind for our family in knowing that our dad/grandad is being looked after is priceless.

For the short time, my relative was a resident, I was very happy with his care. Due to Covid, his illness and disabilities, unfortunately, he did not have the experience of all the facilities available. The staff were all very kind and caring to both of us, and the home is beautiful.

Staff were very welcoming and make every effort to make my mum as welcome as possible under the circumstances. They were always polite and helpful on the phone, and such a shame that her stay was not as long as intended.

My mother has been a resident at The Willows for three years. Her care has always been good and any concerns have always been listened to and acted upon. She has always enjoyed joining in with the activities and entertainment. The staff work hard to keep the home clean and tidy and look after the residents. Their efforts during this year of Covid have been heroic.

My dad has been at The Willows care Home for nearly 3 years with vascular dementia and Alzheimer's. He also has prostate cancer, heart issues and has limited mobility. He is 96 years of age. The staff have been excellent in their treatment. They respond with empathy and consideration to his demands. The staff seem to have a great understanding of the complexities of dementia. If DAd wishes to eat in his bedroom they respond to is needs. Dad pays privately, but if he did not the treatment would still be excellent.

I am very happy here because all the girls are very kind. I hope I never have to move away from here. I think the cost of social care in this country is beyond belief.

My mother has been looked after very well for over two years at The Willows. She always appeared clean and tidy and the meals are more than adequate. The staff are very caring and kind. There were a couple of issues I had to raise with senior staff, which I can honestly say was dealt with immediately. The home has had lots of improvements to the interior and exterior which greatly improves the place.

Olayide SiyanbolaJob Title:Home Manager

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?

“Kindness for me means putting our residents at the centre of everything we do and providing care and support at all times.”

As someone who has worked in the health and social care sector for over a decade, rising from carer to senior carer then deputy manager and then home manager, Olayide has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.

Olayide closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Olayide remarked:

“First and foremost, I enjoy meeting residents and relatives and understanding their needs and requirements. I operate an open-door policy to discuss any questions or concerns residents and their loved ones may have and encourage relatives to visit the home to develop good relationships, which further support those we care for.

From a management perspective, I am committed to creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere, where everyone works as a team. I have installed an effective quality assurance and monitoring system to supervise all staff to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of residents and staff is promoted and protected.”

Olayide has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievements being pursuing her dreams and equipping herself with knowledge and in education.

Outside of work, Olayide enjoys spending time with her sons and her husband, as well as relaxing watching movies, listening to music, and reading. She loves travelling and especially likes a day out in the countryside or at the seaside.
