The long-serving team at Asra House, an ‘Outstanding’ CQC-rated home (February 2022) for residents with an Asian lifestyle, are what makes this home really stand out. Speaking several languages, including Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Swahili and of course English, they are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents and celebrating every aspect of their cultural and religious beliefs.

The home-cooked authentic Asian cuisine at Asra House is a real highlight. Meat and vegetarian dishes are prepared by the home’s chefs in separate kitchens. Residents enjoy a vast variety of curries and daal dishes, with samosas and chapatis, served with home-made chutneys, raita and Indian sweets, every day.

Residents enjoy so many enriching activities, from traditional music, prayers and dancing to animal visits and laughing yoga. So many religious festivals are celebrated, and children from the local school often join in the celebrations.

There is a whole-home approach to activities and every day there is ‘happy hour’, where the team stop what they are doing and enjoy spontaneous activities with the residents.

The residents and their loved ones have a very active role in how their home is run, with resident and relative ambassadors. They support the manager with staff interviews and provide feedback to the team, many of whom have proudly been with the home for over 15 years.

Asra House also has its own minibus, to take the residents out on trips into the community, from the local park to temples and mosques.

The home has a beautiful secure garden leading from the main lounge, which is a beautiful space to relax in the summer with loved ones, who are welcome at any time. And the residents’ spacious bedrooms all have ensuite wet rooms.

The home also has a private Facebook group for family and friends, who can catch up with what their loved ones have been enjoying doing.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1192 but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.
