Dad's previous care home could not manage his difficult behaviour which results from his Alzheimer's and severe hearing loss. Staff here have been kind and patient and learnt how best to manage him and are able to get him laughing and happy, although he can still be non-compliant and agitated on occasion.
Dad is well fed and cared for and happy in his own world and I am reassured that he is in good hands.

My father was accepted to reside at the New Wycliffe in January after a very difficult two months when he failed to adjust to previous care homes. Management at New Wycliffe made a very special effort to provide activities that would interest him and give him freedom of movement (with discrete supervision),
so that he did not feel imprisoned. All the carers know dad and call him by name. They know his character and his needs and handle his occasional agitation with sensitivity and complete professionalism.


In addition to caring for my father, management have been aware of my concerns for Dad and gave me an immense amount of support when I needed it. I received daily phone calls to let me know how he was settling in and to give me reassurance that they were beginning to anticipate his needs. Any questions I have asked or requests that I have made have been dealt with promptly and courteously.

The staff, particularly the manager, have been very supportive through this difficult time. Problems have arisen but the manager has helped us all through the process and the staff have been kind to our parents.

My father has been a resident at New Wycliffe Home for 16 months. All the staff there look after him so well. The home arranges activities and trips out. I can visit whenever I want and I know that my father is safe in their care.

The manager is excellent and this is reflected in how the home and staff run. She is approachable and knows all service users by name and their history. Staff are kind to residents and treat them with dignity.I spent a lot of time here and I have never heard or seen anything to cause me concern. Sometimes
dining area floors are messy after meals and are not cleaned. Rooms are basic and would be nice to have a shower in en-suite facilities. Food is home cooked on premises with a good choice.

Mum was frail, anxious, isolated and unable to move unaided with poor eyesight.


In this lovely environment, Mum has thrived due to the excellent leadership of the manager; her staff creating an effective/caring team whilst providing a comfortable, happy, relaxed atmosphere.


Their support enabling

Mum improved mobility/access to activities trips out. Very good meals with choices.
Family members visited regularly, open access always welcomed and witnessing excellent care/rapport and respect of residents at all times.
Loved to see Mum laughing and joking with staff, she felt secure and happy. More independent.


Choices of activities Vista also hosted themed events and parties (very good links between Vista and the local community).
Excellent sensory Garden which my mother enjoyed Mum became more confident having choices again, more in control, great to see the change in her, knowing her care couldn't be bettered elsewhere.

Excellent management who are approachable. If there are any problems or concerns, they are dealt with very quickly.


Caring staff who treat residents with dignity and compassion (would always be nice if more staff were possible).
