We are deeply grateful for the exceptional care that New Wycliffe Home provided to my mum during the final 18 months of her life. The dedicated team at the home went above and beyond, contributing to what we believe was an extension of her life. It's clear that the staff's commitment to excellence created a compassionate and supportive environment where my mum not only received exceptional care but also thoroughly enjoyed her time.

The team's attentiveness and the overall atmosphere at New Wycliffe Home truly set it apart. Their commitment to providing top-notch care is evident, and it brings me comfort knowing that my mum's last months were spent in a place that prioritized her well-being and happiness. If you're seeking a home that goes beyond the expected in terms of care and compassion, I wholeheartedly recommend New Wycliffe Home.

Our mum has been a resident at The New Wycliffe for 11 months. She is now 98 years old, registered as severely visually impaired and has lived with dementia for over 10 years.
When we could no longer support mum living alone we were really fortunate to find a room at New Wycliffe. The 24/7 care has given us such peace of mind and the staff are so caring and diligent.
Following a short stay in the hospital, Mum has been welcomed back with open arms by the staff who all genuinely love our mum.
My family visit her regularly and all confirm that the staff at the New Wycliffe are caring, well-trained and competent to interact positively with all of the residents.

We are so pleased that we have been able to place Mum at the New Wycliffe.

My father has been a resident at New Wycliffe for just under a year. He suffers with dementia and mobility issues The way the staff have dealt with Dad has been fantastic. He is always clean and tidy with a cheeky smile. They all spend time with him and show him love and respect and I will always be grateful for that. Thank you.

My mother moved into the Home for an initial assessment period of four weeks in September 2022. She is now a permanent resident.
We were aware of the strong reputation of the home previously as a distant family member had been a resident a few years ago.
We have not been disappointed - the home itself is both warm and welcoming and having met many of the staff during the last three months they have been fabulous with Mum and all the family members who have visited. They are passionate about the support they provide and the culture within the home and the value base of the team are both refreshing. The management team clearly lead by example and have found the time to help us as a family manage what is always a challenging transition period for all concerned.

Most importantly - they have provided peace of mind to Dad who has both personal trust and confidence in the home itself and the team within. As a family - we would like to thank all the staff for their ongoing support and encouragement.

We came in to recce the home for a week's respite for my mum who is partially sighted and not very mobile.
From the minute we walked in we knew this wasn't a care home - it was a caring home from home.
The manager was just lovely, engaging, informative and trustworthy.

He spent over an hour with us there was no hard sell, no rush and we came away feeling uplifted about the care, beautiful surroundings, menus etc.

Since my auntie moved into the New Wycliffe she has put on weight. The staff are really good to her, she likes to chat to the staff and staff will spend time talking to her. It’s the best place she could of moved to. She was in another care home where staff and management were rude to her and didn’t understand her dementia.

My cousin has been in the Wycliffe now just over a year and seems to have settled in fine. She loves the activities provided and occasional days out and we have been told all the staff love her.

Definitely worth a 5-star review.

The majority of staff are good. Activities have pretty much stopped, they need more interaction with the residents, due to this the price of care is far too much.

From the initial visit, I knew this was a good caring home filled with professional supportive caring staff who are 100% there for the residents. My mum has been a resident for over 3 years now and I have nothing but praise for the wonderful hard-working staff at New Wycliffe.

We had been struggling to look after mum in her own home and so made the difficult decision in November 2021 to move mum to a home. After looking at several we chose New Wycliffe, as although some other homes may have flashy branding and décor New Wycliffe seemed to focus on care.

Due to Alzheimer’s mum’s health has deteriorated rapidly over the last 4 months. Mum is struggling to eat and drink and is generally bed-bound but the staff are still fantastic with mum. From making sure that they try to encourage her with food and drink she likes, sorting out any health concerns with the GP's, to ensuring that they leave the cooking programs or radio on for her. Mum is always clean and tidy, and all the staff (managers to the cleaners) try in every way to make the time mum has left comfortable and dignified. It’s at times like this that you realise what true care is and New Wycliffe is full of it.

Mum has been a resident in the New Wycliffe Home since August 21, a reluctant resident who is Blind and has severe MH issues, all very recent, so both she and my family have struggled with the big changes that have happened of late. The home/staff have not only supported my mum but also us over the last few months, listening to our concerns, worries, and up and down days. Mum is not the easiest of patients but they have shown her compassion and cared for her even when she didn’t want them around, the dignity they show her is amazing, facilities are clean, and welcoming and the staff are always friendly and considerate. My thanks go all the seniors/carers for their patience and smiling faces. From a very novice family, you are all truly worth your weight in gold!

Mum has been at The New Wycliffe for 8 months and has adapted well to living in the Home. The staff my brother and I have met during our visits are very attentive and caring towards mum and we are pleased with the ratio of staff to residents as we know that this is so important when caring for the elderly. Although mum's mobility is poor this does not exclude her from the many activities and themed parties organised by the staff and she loves anything that involves music and is happy to sing along.

We are grateful for the photos and videos sent so that we can see how she is getting along. The main thing is that mum is being well cared for and my brother and I can visit almost at any time to spend a bit of time with her either in the Visitors' room, her own bedroom or, if the weather is good, to have a walk around the gardens at the New Wycliffe.

I’m sure the New Wycliffe saved my dad's life. When he was at home, he was struggling to move, his Incontinence was really getting him down, his dementia was getting worse, and he was depressed. Since moving in last September he is a different person. I haven’t seen him as happy or active in years! He actually has a conversation with us now, his sense of humour has returned! They do so so much for the residents, there’s always something going on.

Our family all agree that he has a better social life than us now! I cannot thank them enough for the outstanding care they provide for my dad. I wouldn’t want him to be anywhere else. My mum felt guilty at first, she was upset that she couldn’t provide him with the care that he needed. Now she is so happy that he is there, she has her husband back, I have my dad - he wasn’t himself at home. New Wycliffe has brought him back to life. I will always be eternally grateful.

Due to previous experience, our family chose the New Wycliffe for our mum. She settled in very quickly and we all commented on how well, happy and relaxed she looked. Mum is always treated with the utmost dignity and respect and the care she received has been wonderful it has been such a relief to the family to know she is so well looked after. All staff are friendly, extremely caring and nothing is too much trouble. Communication is excellent and everyone is aware and responsive to Mum's needs. Her room is clean, well equipped and feels like home. When visiting the New Wycliffe the overall impression is of one big happy family. The range of activities offered is excellent, there is always something going on which mym enjoys. Despite recent restrictions, we have always been kept fully informed of mum progress and have been sent pictures and kept fully up to date with what is happening when we have been unable to visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending the New Wycliffe to others.

My mum went to New Wycliffe Home to start with for respite but it was then clear that with mum's complex needs, a permanent position was needed and mum stayed on. The staff from all aspects were amazing and cared for her and supported both her and me through this process. My mum became poorly with water infections and at 98 became very frail.

Such care was taken with her frailty along with her sight and hearing loss. The staff were so understanding of her needs, every facility was in place to help her to be comfortable. After a spell in hospital and further water infections, my mum passed away on 3rd January 2022 of old age and frailty. Again, New Wycliffe Home supported me and my family with such kindness and I will always be truly grateful. Thank you.
