Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.


Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

My mother-in-law spent her final two months in Boultham Park House (BPH). My wife and I chose BPH because we sensed immediately we entered the place a light, bright, airy, friendly, welcoming and above all caring atmosphere. From the manager, through all the carers, the kitchen staff, the cleaners and
the maintenance man, everyone very actively and positively devoted their time and energy to caring for the residents.


The whole facility was custom-built to provide for care. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped. The food was excellent with hot and cold, nutritious and varied menus served in whatever way the residents needed to match their physical and emotional needs. We witnessed excellent activities to encourage residents' involvement. There were outings, there was a full engagement in all Christmas celebrations that brought joy and stimulation. Above all else, BPH gave my mother-in-law a home for her final days that was filled with laughter, warmth, dignity and love.

My Uncle required respite from his carer.
I made enquiries and within 4 hours he had a placement with you.
First impressions, I was overwhelmed by the genuine care we all received when we arrived.
The staff (Admin) and carers were second to none. Day two and my Uncle has settled in so well he doesn't
want to leave!
Excellent service, we can't thank you all enough for everything.

Mum lived here for 4 years and she was treated with understanding and kindness despite being a little 'difficult' at times. She was given respect and her dignity maintained. Her end of life care was particularly good.

All the staff (manager, carers, kitchen staff and handyman) treat residents and visitors with respect, dedication and are friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely furnished and kept clean and tidy. Meals are very good, giving choices at each meal. Friends and family are encouraged to visit at any
time and lovingly supported through difficult times.
I would want to live here if I become unable to care for myself.

I became a resident together with my wife in the care home on 3rd January 2017. In this short period of time, I have been greatly impressed by the care workers ability to deal with every situation that presents itself. Nothing is too much trouble and attitudes dealt with with great tact. All the working
staff create an atmosphere of friendly cheerfulness. The building is modern and stands on beautiful grounds with lovely views. As the weather improves outings of a variety are organised which gives pleasure and helps pass the time. Entertainment is also provided indoors. All is extremely efficient.

Mum was very content here, the staff who like a laugh and a chat with the residents were brilliant. The food was also very good, as was the work of the cleaners and laundry staff.
The entertainment lady was also very nice and encouraged residents to take part in as much as they wanted too.

Yesterday we (myself) and one of your residents and several friends held a surprise afternoon tea at Boultham Park Care Home. I organised as a mark of our love for this resident who was to move from the home to live with her daughter. I was very helped by the staff who gave me so much help in setting
things out, and in supporting me in keeping it a surprise event. In the year that my friend has lived at the home, I have seen such love and dedication from all the staff. Their care and kindness has been exemplary - always going the extra mile! Thank you so very much.

I cannot fault this residential home for the care given to my mum and my family. I feel that if anything it would be more staff needed. The staff were so caring to us and mum in her last hours of life, they were truly fantastic.

We took mum into Boultham in January 2015. She had dementia and was no longer steady on her feet. When we arrived a young carer greeted us at the door with a welcoming smile. Mum was very frightened. They soon settled her in. I visited mum regularly in the two years she was with them, and can honestly
say all the carers were kind and very patient with all residents.
They are very well trained in dementia care. We valued the friendship they gave us too. Boultham was always kept clean and the domestic staff do a brilliant job. On the sad day that mum passed away, we were supplied with food and drink.

Absolutely brilliant. All staff show the utmost care and dedication to their respective jobs. Nothing too much trouble and go out of their way to do anything which was asked and always with a smile, no negativity what so ever. Sometimes when you walk into a place, you get a kind of vibe and think along
the lines of not being very good. But I never did have that feeling at Boultham Park House, always greeted with a smile and kind words and all staff knew what they were doing, in a nutshell, didn't miss a trick. Best possible care, knowing mum was in good hands, a great comfort to the family.

I would like to congratulate you on the amazing standards of caring at Boultham Park. My aunt was a resident for 11 years and died recently at the grand old age of 100. The staff are dedicated, friendly and caring not only to the residents but the extended family. I live 3 hours drive away, but was
always happy to leave my aunt, confident that she was content and well cared for. I only wish other homes in my area (that I visit) were up to your standards. My thanks to all concerned.

Boultham Park House provides not only their residents with a safe, secure community- spirited environment but also offers huge reassurance and support for residents families that their parent is happy and safe 24 hours a day. Having experienced care in her own home prior to going to live at Boultham
Park House my mother is now happy and healthier enjoying excellent and regular meals, activities and good company. She no longer feels lonely has put lost weight back on and enjoys the friendly, caring, community spirit shared between staff and residents.

I cannot praise the staff for their helpfulness, cleanliness, and the loving care they give to their inmates, enough. My cousin entered the home just before Christmas, was rather reluctant, but settled in well, she loves it. My cousin has just had her 100th birthday and what a party they gave her, it
could not have been better. My brother is in a home and it is not a patch on Boultham House, I am well impressed.

Joanne Johnson

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2003

Joanne Johnson is the Home Manager at The Orders of St John Care Home, Boultham Park in Lincoln.


Joanne has worked in the care industry for the last twenty-two years, the last fifteen being with The Orders of St John Care Trust. She began my career initially as a Carer, working both days & nights before then being promoted to Care Leader, which gave Joanne the necessary leadership skills to become Head of Care and more recently Home Manager.


As Joanne has developed personally in each role, that passion has never left her and now as the Home manager, she still gets a real satisfaction from engaging with the Residents and helping where she can.


Since working in the industry, Joanne has achieved NVQ Level 2&3 in Health and Social care, Level 3 in effective Management. Jo is a medication champion for the Trust, and an appointed First Aider, who is working towards her level 5 management award.


In 2016, Joanne was presented with a chairman’s commendation for meritorious service which she is extremely proud of.


Every day is different in the life of the care home, usually very busy, but managed effectively by prioritising tasks. Jo has a very approachable nature and has an open-door policy enabling all colleagues, residents and visitors to feel they are able to talk to her.


Joanne’s passion for care of the elderly developed at a young age, having a close relationship with her Grandparents and taking her Grandfather to visit his friends in a variety of care providers, she soon realised that she wanted to support individuals and make a difference where she could.


When not at work, I enjoy foreign travel, socialising, dining out, reading and spending quality time with my husband Richard and my much-loved dog Ollie.
