Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.


Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

My husband came in with me after I broke my shoulder - I was his carer.
We were allocated a double room and was made very comfortable.
We both get looked after and manage to go on some outings together.
Staff are always very pleasant, even though they have all been doing more than their share
due to illness, both residents and staff were hit badly.

Excellent all-round care. All staff very helpful, kind and friendly. Will always take time to talk to me and explain how my mother is. Nothing is too much trouble. I feel all my mother's needs are met. I feel very happy and thankful that my mother is very well looked after and could not wish for more

The care given is very good and the staff are dedicated and empathetic. Good activities with visits to the local wildlife park, which was a major exercise well delivered. Work on the festival display was engaging for my mother and productive - really impressed.

After I spent a week in hospital because of all my joints becoming stiff and making my mobility hard work, I was transferred to this home which I've found to be well run, pleasant with caring assistants friendly and helpful. Also, the kitchen staff provide enjoyable food.

Very caring, safe and looked after. I'm only here for one week but should I need care at a later date I will not hesitate to ask you to look after me again.
I couldn't eat or drink when I arrived but within three days, started to feel more like my old self.

They provide continuous care with dedicated staff but always look for improvements with experienced staff mentoring recruited staff generally, overall with the care of residents with all 'age' related problems/difficulties.

Other than initial formalities, I was made welcome without undue ceremony.


Food is good, in acceptable helpings, sufficient for sedentary individuals such as myself, well prepared and courteously served.


The general ambience is very good.

My uncle has received nothing but first-class care at Boultham Park House. He took a while to settle in but the staff have always borne with him and allowed him to find his feet and a routine, make new friends and make the most of the facilities available.


The care home itself is always clean and

tidy, well decorated and my uncle's room is always spotless, with clean towels and bed linen and he is delighted with the meals/food and the laundry service - these never being his favourite tasks at home!


The activities are varied, including music and physical activity and residents are free to join in as they wish. My uncle's health and anxiety problems have vastly improved in his time here and as well as hairdressing, etc, having 'in house' optician, chiropodist, etc, has been a real boon.


All the care staff and management are very professional, friendly, kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble and I always feel confident that my uncle is in the safest of hands.

Boultham Park house is given the top accolade at the award ceremony for all homes in St Johns Trust! Thrilled that the manager and all her amazing team have been recognised for their excellent care and dedication, showing consistently high standards throughout the home. Thank you is sometimes not a
big enough word, but the trophy and recognition from management and peers are richly deserved. Now everyone knows the Manager and her team are "simply the best"!

Absolutely fantastic, staff and residents are brilliant. Nothing is a problem. Food is outstanding, anything you wish to have different from the menu can be done. Night team are also fantastic nothing is too much trouble. Facilities and garden are exceptional.

I cannot express how much it meant to me that my Mum was happy and cared for in her last year. I was always consulted regarding her wellbeing. The staff are amazing, friendly, helpful. Boultham Park House was home to my mum for over 3yrs. My mum suffered with dementia and passed away in June 2018. During this time I always found the home to be clean and comfortable with a good standard of hygiene.
The meals offered were nutritious and well balanced and very well cooked. If mum who
was a poor eater didn’t fancy anything on the menu it was never any trouble to the chefs to prepare her favourite scrambled egg or whatever she fancied that was available.
Visitors are always made welcome and actively encouraged to visit and join in activities and events.
The care given by the staff particularly as mums dementia worsened was amazing. The standard of care and compassion was undoubtedly delivered with professionalism and compassion with mums dignity always respected. The staff not only cared for mum but supported my brother and I.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the care home and can’t thank the manager and her wonderful team enough.

Mum has responded really well to the environment at Boultham Park House and made fantastic progress when compared to her arrival after two weeks in hospital.
She is pretty much like the mum I knew before her fall. In fact, the social situation at Boultham Park House has actually improved her general
communication abilities. It is an amazing success story for her and all of you associated with this change, from the medical care to the time found to support her.

The staff are genuinely friendly and professional. Support for residents and relatives is always available. Response time to alerts is rapid. At no time are residents feelings or wishes compromised. Food is of a high standard. Every effort is made to make BPH a home from home. Activities could be improved,
if there is a criticism, however, the basis of the care home is to deliver faultless care and attention which is achieved on all levels.

Joanne

Joanne Johnson

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2003

Joanne Johnson is the Home Manager at The Orders of St John Care Home, Boultham Park in Lincoln.


Joanne has worked in the care industry for the last twenty-two years, the last fifteen being with The Orders of St John Care Trust. She began my career initially as a Carer, working both days & nights before then being promoted to Care Leader, which gave Joanne the necessary leadership skills to become Head of Care and more recently Home Manager.


As Joanne has developed personally in each role, that passion has never left her and now as the Home manager, she still gets a real satisfaction from engaging with the Residents and helping where she can.


Since working in the industry, Joanne has achieved NVQ Level 2&3 in Health and Social care, Level 3 in effective Management. Jo is a medication champion for the Trust, and an appointed First Aider, who is working towards her level 5 management award.


In 2016, Joanne was presented with a chairman’s commendation for meritorious service which she is extremely proud of.


Every day is different in the life of the care home, usually very busy, but managed effectively by prioritising tasks. Jo has a very approachable nature and has an open-door policy enabling all colleagues, residents and visitors to feel they are able to talk to her.


Joanne’s passion for care of the elderly developed at a young age, having a close relationship with her Grandparents and taking her Grandfather to visit his friends in a variety of care providers, she soon realised that she wanted to support individuals and make a difference where she could.


When not at work, I enjoy foreign travel, socialising, dining out, reading and spending quality time with my husband Richard and my much-loved dog Ollie.
