Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.


Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

The home has a happy, friendly atmosphere. Family members are made to feel welcome and part of their team. Residents are well cared for and look happy to be there. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and management alike and managers door is always open. Meals are cooked on site and residents
have plenty of choice. The home is very clean and tidy, one of the best homes! Keep up the good work.

Mum was very happy here and got on well with staff and residents alike. She joined in most activities and days out when possible. She was watched over 24 hours a day- which gave me the reassurance I needed knowing that help was always at hand if needed. The carers were wonderful, such a difficult job
yet each and everyone was always smiling.

The care home was a bright and warm welcoming place. Staff very friendly and caring. After mum settled in she was happy here and felt safe. She went on outings and did a lot of activities in the home. The staff were very approachable and if we asked questions about mum's care they would always inform
us of every aspect of this.

Mum was only a resident for five months but the care given to her was excellent, she was treated with kindness and consideration at all times. When she passed away she was treated with great dignity as were we as relatives. The home has a very friendly atmosphere inside and outside (the gardens are
beautiful and residents are included in the gardening!).

I have visited a friend in the above home on a regular basis during her three year residence there. The staff, of all levels were always clean, tidy, friendly, willing to help and treated me with respect. I have never had any reason to be anything but thoroughly grateful for what they did for my friend,
who became increasingly frail and displaying severe dementia.

Boultham Park House is a very welcoming care home. The building is light and airy and well kept. The staff are friendly and my mother settled in there from the first day. The home is small enough to care but big enough to give the feeling of space and the various communal rooms add variety for the residents.
The gardens and access to the nearby park are an added bonus to a caring care home.

Joanne

Joanne Johnson

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2003

Joanne Johnson is the Home Manager at The Orders of St John Care Home, Boultham Park in Lincoln.


Joanne has worked in the care industry for the last twenty-two years, the last fifteen being with The Orders of St John Care Trust. She began my career initially as a Carer, working both days & nights before then being promoted to Care Leader, which gave Joanne the necessary leadership skills to become Head of Care and more recently Home Manager.


As Joanne has developed personally in each role, that passion has never left her and now as the Home manager, she still gets a real satisfaction from engaging with the Residents and helping where she can.


Since working in the industry, Joanne has achieved NVQ Level 2&3 in Health and Social care, Level 3 in effective Management. Jo is a medication champion for the Trust, and an appointed First Aider, who is working towards her level 5 management award.


In 2016, Joanne was presented with a chairman’s commendation for meritorious service which she is extremely proud of.


Every day is different in the life of the care home, usually very busy, but managed effectively by prioritising tasks. Jo has a very approachable nature and has an open-door policy enabling all colleagues, residents and visitors to feel they are able to talk to her.


Joanne’s passion for care of the elderly developed at a young age, having a close relationship with her Grandparents and taking her Grandfather to visit his friends in a variety of care providers, she soon realised that she wanted to support individuals and make a difference where she could.


When not at work, I enjoy foreign travel, socialising, dining out, reading and spending quality time with my husband Richard and my much-loved dog Ollie.
