Mum was placed here in Oct 2021 as a temporary move to get her out of hospital to wait for home carers. After several weeks of waiting, they still hadn't materialised and as mum was settled in the home it was decided she would stay there. What a wonderful place it is. The staff are kind and so caring
and take great care of her, always with a sense of humour. The management are always available and ready to answer any questions, nothing seems too much trouble. They continue to care for my Mum in a great way.

Covid restrictions have made visiting difficult at times but I've been kept informed about anything I needed to know about at all times.
I have experience of several homes and this is definitely the best by far.

My grandparents moved in full-time on December 19 having previously been at Nene Lodge for respite. They had a beautiful double room and the staff were very attentive, full of humour and caring. Then the pandemic hit. This was very challenging for me as I live 200 miles away and in that time my Grandad
passed away. Having been married for 73 years, I worried about how Nan would cope. However, the manager then arranged for video calls with her so I was able to see and interact with her. She always says it's as if we are sat down with a coffee having a chat. I'm not sure who has gained the most from the calls!

There are lots of activities, Nan has her hair done, made friends and still has her cheeky humour. The procedures in place for visits during Covid have kept all residents safe and it's a real family environment. The staff are incredible and have been so close to my grandparents all my life, it's fantastic that can continue all due to Nene Lodge.

When Mum needed care, she was adamant she was not going into a care home until we showed her Nene Lodge. She fell in love with the setting and thought it was more like home than a facility. The staff were terrific and took excellent care of her. Several months ago Dad requested to go to Nene Lodge and
they immediately took him in, rearranging his private room to accommodate his needs, decorating the room with his things so he had familiar items around him. The original staff remembered him and my Mum and were as careful, loving and generous with him as they were with her, and everyone who stays there. They went above and beyond, helping me as I lived overseas, to navigate covid policies and procedures and be in touch with Dad as much as possible. I called it The Lodge as it was very much like a retreat and he called it 'home'. I cannot thank the team enough for being there for both my parents when I couldn't. I can only hope that I am as fortunate to find such wonderful people when it is my time in life.

My father-in-law has been residing at Nene Lodge for over a year. We have been very pleasantly surprised by the high level of care he has received. All carers are highly motivated and good-humoured. Food and refreshments are plentiful. Exercise classes are well attended and held at least twice weekly.
The manager/owner relationship is close and both have a positive attitude which benefits the residents who are encouraged to spend time talking with them. The communal rooms and bedrooms are nicely decorated in a style suiting the age demographic of the residents. Each resident has wi-fi and their own private facilities and the whole place is clean and tidy. There is ample parking for staff and visitors. I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone who is looking for a place to look after their loved ones. Covid protocols are respected and maintained throughout.

The day I brought mum to you in June 2020. I knew straight away how caring and considerate you were towards mum and made her so welcome. Mum settled in well and we could see an instant improving change in her looks and health during my visits. We had many phone calls during the time we were unable to
visit due to Covid restrictions.
Mum always said what lovely food she had and how caring the staff were. Even had fish and chips on Fridays from the chippy. Mum always referred to her room as her home where she was happy. It has been an extremely hard and testing year for us all during this pandemic. Hopefully now (May 2021), the home is able to have visitors inside and have some ‘normality’ again. Thank you for everything you and your staff did for our mum to make her stay happy and as homely as you possibly could. Keep up the great work.

Words cannot express our sincere thanks to everyone at Nene Lodge Retirement Home for everything you did for Mum over the time she was with you. I'm sure Mum understood why she had to be in a home and always said we had picked the right home for her, thank you for letting her treat it as her home. She
always enjoyed the food and looked forward to having her hair done each week. Mum had a lovely Christmas with you, she always seemed happy and never said she wanted to go home which put our minds at ease. Thank you to the Manager for the friendship you showed to mum, letting her sit in your office with you even when you were busy. These are some of the memories that will stay with us forever. It has been a difficult year but all the staff at Nene Lodge have been amazing, thank you.

We got Dad into Nene Lodge just before covid, but he was happy and very well looked after. The owner when we first met him was so nice and friendly and nothing was ever a problem and that was our experience throughout the whole of his team. Dad was always happy and well looked after. One very nice place
to have someone that is special to you live. I would highly recommend Nene Lodge to anyone looking for a care home. The owner, manager and all staff are fantastic!!

Thank you for taking great care of my grandma, while she was waiting for a home care package. Grandma really enjoyed being at Nene Lodge Retirement Home, the staff were outstanding, nothing was ever a problem and they were always there when she needed them. The food was delicious and always had two
options of choice. The room was beautifully decorated and she felt like she was at home. Grandma quoted, "When the time is right, me and your Granddad will both be going to Nene Lodge Retirement Home." Grandma would like to thank the management and all the staff for the brilliant care she received. I would definitely recommend Nene Lodge Retirement Home to anymore. Thank you.

We have just had 2 weeks in respite at Nene Lodge. I have looked very hard to find faults, but I can't find any. Because of Covid, we were confined to our room for the first week. That did not matter as the room was first class. Patio doors overlooked the garden, we were able to enjoy the birds, flowers
and the trees. It was a really lovely room. The second week we were allowed out and all the rooms that we could see where lovely. We went to the dining room which was decorated and furnished to tip-top quality. The food was 1st class. Being country people we know how we like our food. There was always 2 choices. The staff where really lovely and most had been there a long time. I had been there 30 years + all others 5 to 20 years. That tells you a lot about the place. We are hoping when time comes we will be able to go back to Nene Lodge.
Thanks to all the staff at Nene Lodge for providing us with respite care.

This is an exceptional place. My father spent the last two years of his life here and was treated with the utmost care, compassion and love that you could ever expect. He grew to see everyone there as his friends and was treated as such by all at Nene.
The two people who run Nene have found their
true vocation in life - they genuinely care, and this is instilled in all the wonderful staff who work there.
All of the staff became my father's friends and treated him with the utmost respect throughout his stay. They talked to him, took time to get to know him and made him smile.
They are all exceptional people and I can't speak highly enough of them.

Mother, now a centenarian, has been cared for at Nene Lodge for the last seven years. It is so reassuring to know that she is being cared for so well. Despite the health and mental restrictions she has to endure, it is so pleasing to know that her needs are so fully met. To find her relaxing or even
fully engaged in an activity when we visit has lifted our spirits. The home is able to provide for her needs which would be far outside the ability of the family, with twenty-four-hour care and having the facilities and the staff to tend to all her needs.
We are so grateful to Nene Lodge and all its staff for the way mother is able to live her life in comfort and being treated with such care and respect. From the family's point of view, it is so reassuring to be able to put our full trust in the home and know mother is so content. We have a feeling she is determined to not only be the oldest resident but the longest occupant in the place.

We can't thank or praise Nene Lodge enough for the quality of care they gave my Mother and the support they gave the family; from our initial fact-finding visit through to our mother's funeral. It was always good to know she was safe and being well cared for.
Our Mother was a resident for over 3 years.
Her care was always caring, kind and appropriate. Her care plan was reviewed on a regular basis and adjusted to meet the needs of her condition at the time. Her care was always dignified which was of particular importance to us in her latter days as she became more frail.
Nene is a friendly happy place which gets to know/understand their residents in depth. They all understood our Mother, knew what made her "tick", what would make her laugh etc. Her face would light up with a beaming smile whenever they came into the room, particularly the owner. We always received a warm friendly welcome when we visited.
We would highly recommend Nene to anyone looking for a care home for their loved ones.

Nene Lodge has exceeded our expectations. Nine months in Nene Lodge, Mum is more serene than before she went in. The owner's central philosophy guides the actions and attitude of the manager and staff (many have worked there for many years). He has everyday involvement and we admire his continued passion
after thirty years. Genuine respect, kindness and dignity. Mum is always well dressed and fond of the carers. Residents are encouraged but never forced to take activities. Mum loves trips to garden centres, dementia friendly cinema etc. There is a sense of community in the home. Six lounges - a concern at the beginning as I thought Mum would never handle the walking with her wheelie. I needn't have worried. Mum became fitter and gets into our car more easily now. There are handrails along all the corridors and staff and wheelchairs available for those who need them. All residents are treated with dignity, no matter their condition e.g. we are asked to leave the lounge when a resident needs a hoist. We are thankful that we chose Nene Lodge.

My mother was a resident of Nene Lodge Retirement Home 15 years ago. She was a very happy and contented resident. After she passed away I continued to visit the Home at the request of the Management. I am, to this day, a regular visitor, playing my keyboard on a monthly basis as well as visiting on
a weekly basis to befriend the residents and listen to their stories and the view about life in Nene Lodge. I'm always invited to take part in the Home's activities throughout the year. I find Nene Lodge Care Home very welcoming as you walk through the door, it has a calming feeling. The décor is very good and they keep it very clean in fact it is excellent. They have lots of entertainment such as bingo, colouring, quizzes, music to sing along to. The carers are so kind and have lots of time for you. When the time comes for me to go into a care home, Nene Lodge Care Home would be the place for me.

Mum has been at Nene Lodge since 2015 and is very happy and settled there. Everyone, the owner, the manager and the carers, provide outstanding care. She is treated with kindness and dignity by all.
Activities occur on a regular basis. These include art, knitting, quizzes and activity sessions (involving
gentle exercises). Trips are organised to the theatre and to local places for lunch. A monthly newsletter and noticeboards keep the residents informed as to what is happening.
The building and furnishings are in a good state of repair. Mum was able to take small items of furniture, ornaments and pictures to make her room feel like home.
The food is of a good standard with a choice of menu offered.
Visiting is relaxed and welcoming. We are able to take our well-behaved dog which is good for Mum's morale.
As we live away we are happy to know that Mum is in very safe and capable hands. We would have no hesitation in recommending Nene Lodge for short and long term stays.

My mother has been at Nene Lodge for nearly a year and has been extremely well cared for. The home has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are dedicated and professional. There’s plenty of activities for residents, the bedrooms are clean and spacious and the communal areas are well equipped. My mother
has been very settled since her arrival and whenever I visit, she is always cheerful and the staff take time to ensure she is treated with respect and dignity. I’m quickly informed if Mum should need anything and always made to feel so welcome myself when I visit. I would highly recommend Nene Lodge as a retirement home.
