Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and

housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.
We currently have a welcome offer available for new residents funding their own care at Skirbeck Court. The offer includes free hairdresser/barber services, chiropody, daily newspaper of your choice and toiletry gift set on arrival.

Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

A wonderful care home- so kind and caring, very clean and homely. The staff are excellent. My mother is very content there. Although bedridden now, she has never had a bed sore. Her diet is good and they always make sure she has plenty of fluids. Activities are excellent there too. The staff ring with
any concerns. As we can no longer care for my mother ourselves, we know she is in such safe hands and we cannot thank them enough.

As I arrived at Skirbeck Court from the hospital, I was immediately welcomed by the manager and staff with a friendly and convivial reception.
Any anxieties I may have had soon melted away by the friendly carers and their wonderful witticism and good humour, and I was thankful and appreciative of (all)
the staff that made my stay comfortable and entertaining.
With all their responsibilities of attending to every resident's personal needs, they always managed to stay upbeat, and in so doing, made me feel upbeat too.
The food was as good as any restaurant and was always served up with a generous portion of good humour and an affable smile.
After a short time, I soon started to feel as if I was in a hotel, but with a myriad of helpers on hand to cater for every need. I was a little reticent at first, but everyone made me feel at home, and any feelings of trepidation soon disappeared by their inexorable charm and witty banter.

I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff at Skirbeck. Even with the Covid-19 restrictions, they have gone out of their way to accommodate, particularly when my dad passed.
Mum has settled really well thanks to the care, understanding and friendliness of the staff; it's a huge weight off my mind
knowing Mum is safe and looked after as I live so far away.
Mum always comments on how good the food is and has started joining in some of the events that are arranged for residents, such as movement to music.
They have an onsite hairdresser, which Mum absolutely loves, along with visits from a chiropodist; they also arrange a daily newspaper delivery so Mum can keep in touch with worldly goings-on.
Thank you so much for taking great care of my mum; you are all absolutely wonderful.

For the four years my mum has lived at Skirbeck Court the care has been very good. All staff are friendly, helpful and loving. It is run very well, in this time there has been two managers with good ideas and good attitude, always helpful. The home is spotless, clean, looks nice and feels homely.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. My grandma was living the life of Riley. She was happy to be there and did not want to come home.
I was kept up to date with any concerns regarding my nan's health and when I could have a visit. Again the staff really do go above and beyond for all their
residents. They made a lasting impression on nan.

Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, she has now moved.
During her stay at Skirbeck Court the level of care and caring by staff has been outstanding.
Always greeted by a warm welcome when
entering the home; it is always evident of the level of care within by the happy disposition of the residents.

There were a few teething problems at the beginning of my dads stay, usually related to the untimely care of a blocked catheter. I feel Dad was listened to very well, and I needed to advocate on his behalf. I think there were some staffing challenges too. I felt that quicker carer access to nursing/medical
staff was required. Once Dad became more settled and the staff became more aware of his needs, things improved dramatically. The staff at Skirkbeck Court are quite stable. It's more like a second family. Dads last lockdown year was a very happy one.

My husband has been in Skirkbeck Court for two years. The care shown to him from the staff in all departments, not only my husband but also the kindness to me. My husband's bedroom is kept beautiful and clean but is on the small size to have a visitor. I would like to say a big thank you to all the

I would like to say that I think the staff at Skirbeck Court have been amazing over this very strange year! The manager has been outstanding. I have had many telephone conversations with her, and she has been extremely reassuring, caring and helpful. Thank you for keeping my dad safe.

My grandmother always appears happy and back to her usual fun, loving self. She was getting quite lonely and frightened living alone, but coming to Skirbeck Court has really enhanced the way she lives. She enjoys her meals, her bubble baths and activities. I am sad to say that recent events have made
the activities less available, but I am happy that she is still able to communicate with staff every day.

My mother has been a resident at Skirbeck Court for three and a half years; she is very happy and settled. Mum enjoys the activities and says all the staff are lovely and helpful. I can see the huge effort the staff put into making the residents happy and particularly over the past year when visits
haven't been allowed due to Covid restrictions. I'm always made to feel welcome. The home is very homely and run very well by the home manager and staff.

When the pandemic began last year, I was fearful for my mothers physical and mental wellbeing. She is unable to leave her bed and has deteriorating hearing and eyesight, so lives in a very limited world, though still mentally alert. The staff and carers have been excellent, keeping her physically well
and mentally stimulated and positive, and aware of the virus and the reasons for restrictions. During the lockdown, they have helped her with video calls, so we could see and talk to each other, and allowed safe visits when restrictions allowed. Yesterday, she celebrated her 100th birthday. I cannot speak too highly of the care she has received to help her reach this milestone.

My experience in Skirbeck Court was very pleasant and everything was very comfortable, clean and bright. The staff were caring, helpful and always cheerful. The food was excellent well presented and beautifully cooked and always hot.
The only criticism my room was very small no room for an armchair
If I wanted to watch tv in my room I had to go to bed 6pm is a bit early. But I would have no hesitation recommending Skirkbeck Court.

All the staff are very friendly and caring. Mum calls it 'home' and is very happy and content to be here. Any queries are dealt with straight away and staff are always aware of how and where she is whenever we phone.
We feel very lucky that mum is so well cared for.

My mother has been a resident here for 3 years. The staff have always been respectful to her and very supportive of me. If they have any health concerns they never hesitate to contact her GP, sadly mums condition hs altered significantly. She has since been assessed and now requires nursing care. I
am very sad that she has to leave Skirbeck Court.

Naomi

Naomi Bender

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

My Name is Naomi, I have been working in the care industry for over 20 years, I started working in care homes as an after school job in a kitchen, washing up after tea and I then started doing care shifts to help out and on weekends, it was then, that I found who I am.


Care for me has never been just a job, it is a vocation, something that I am truly passionate about. I have worked in most roles within the care home environments throughout Boston, Essex and Suffolk and in 2012 I qualified as a Nurse and returned to care homes in Essex and Suffolk, working my way through the ranks as a Nurse, then as a senior nurse, I then spent 8 years as a Deputy Manager, before moving back up to Lincolnshire. I have worked for several different care providers over the last 20 years including 3 large providers in the South of England before starting my Journey with OSJCT.


I joined OSJCT because their values align with my own, and I am looking forward to making a difference in the lives of the residents in my care. Over the course of my career, I have developed a real passion for end of life care and dementia care and really enjoy making a difference to people’s lives. Sometimes that difference can be as small as making someone smile when they’re having a bad day, or as big as being able to go paddle in the sea, or to go see a show.


If you were thinking about joining care, I would tell you it is hard work but very rewarding. Every day is different, and the little moments can really make a big impact for those living and working in care. I had lots of different jobs before care and this is by far the best.

Sacha Thornalley

Sacha Thornalley is the Head of Care at Skirbeck Court. She has 13 years experience in the care industry. Sacha has previously worked as a night carer, Activities Co-ordinator, Carer, Senior Carer and Deputy Manager. All prior to commencing work at Skirbeck Court as Head of Care in May 2020.
