Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.
We currently have a welcome offer available for new residents funding their own care at Skirbeck Court. The offer includes free hairdresser/barber services, chiropody, daily newspaper of your choice and toiletry gift set on arrival.

Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

My auntie was in Skirbeck Court as a respite resident for a month. The staff (particularly the secretary) were very helpful. My auntie loved the afternoon teas and the chocolate eclairs on a Sunday. The food was very good generally. Staff were helpful in taking the phone to my auntie so that she could
take phone calls with family. Lack of ensuite room was a problem when a toilet was required frequently, so sadly had to move to other accommodation.

My mother was moved into Skirbeck Court in August 2025 straight from Pilgrim Hospital. She was badly let down by the hospital and then by the community nurses and GP, but the staff at the Care Home were brilliant and really caring. I cannot praise them high enough. They tried so hard to make up for
the NHS short comings. Sadly she lost her last battle on the 14th August, but once again the staff were so compassionate and sensitive.

My mum has been resident for over 2 years and has always received beyond exceptional care from all of the staff past and present. I know my mum is safe and respected which is vitally important for me as I an distance away.
Mum often shares amazing stories and countless incidents of exceptional care
from all staff members.
Mums dedicated carer goes above and beyond shift after shift and is always there for advice and an update for me on mums status. The leadership Team offer next level support and the other staff including the cleaning team and canteen staff always provide mum with what she needs. The operation at Skirbeck Court is geared toward resident care which is front and centre from where I sit.
Mums room affords a view of the garden which is immaculate and I know gives her pleasure looking at it.
I know mum loves all of the staff despite her conditions often causing her to snap. The response from all staff is always calming and reassuring.

My father has been a resident for 13 months before he passed away peacefully. I cannot put into words the gratitude to all the staff for taking care of our precious Dad. The compassion, care and empathy they all showed was over and above what I expected. Dad enjoyed the activities and making friends
with other residents. My sister and I visited Dad regularly and we became part of the 'Skibeck Court family' too - we enjoyed the coffee mornings with Dad and the wonderful Christmas party. Thank you so much Skirbeck Court team. You are amazing.

Since I've been at Skirbeck Court I've been very happy, quite content, people get on well together. It's a peaceful place. There's no bad language (like my previous place) and all the staff are kind and helpful to me. It's a wonderful atmosphere.

My husband was well looked after, it was unfortunate he had a fall on the first day. The staff worked hard to enable my husband to regain his mobility.
When I contracted covid Skirbeck Court continued to care for my husband until I was tested clear for him to return. We will certainly use Skirbeck
Court for future respite. Both my husband and I would like to thank the staff.

My dear Pa is in St. John's. Dad is happy. We are all happy. Management and staff are extremely approachable. It is quite clear working in the care industry is very taxing and demanding. The person-centered care to me, is very evident. Nothing is too much trouble, All the staff is very kind and accommodating.
For example, in Sept we celebrated Dad's Birthday and Mum and Dad's Anniversary on the same day, here at the home! A first for all of our family. The staff were absolutely brilliant. We were all amazed at how they fussed Mum and Dad with care and gifts and well wishes. The positive transition from staff into this new 'Rhythm' has helped us all adjust, big time. I truly thank God for St John's staff's top-notch care. Going into a care home became a very new and daunting reality for Dad, Mum and all in our family this year. However, all staff have helped us regain 'normality' in a very public space. Thank you all very much. Please know you are all very appreciated.

There was no doubt about it when the time came to look for a care home Skirbeck Court was always going to be first choice (having had previous experience of the home).
After suffering a stroke in Sept 2021 Mum who lost the use of her left arm and leg is completely reliant on the care team to assist
her in all her needs.
We are very happy knowing that Mum is well looked after safe and free to live her life and make her own choices as she pleases in this well-run, clean, friendly, homely environment which is staffed by a dedicated, caring team of professionals.
At 96 Mum enjoys her life at Skirbeck and makes the most of her time with the activities available.

All of the staff are friendly and helpful and the home is always clean and tidy. There are plenty of activities for the residents if they want to take part. A lot of attention is given to decorating the dining room and reception area when celebrating/remembering different dates - Valentine's Day, Easter,
Halloween, Remembrance Day, etc, with the residents often helping to make the trimmings, and they are made to feel very special on their birthdays. There is also a very attractive and well-tended garden that the residents enjoy. My relation has lived in Skirbeck Court for over a year, has settled in well and is happy there.

My mum has been in Skirbeck Court for nearly a year and I have seen a wonderful difference in her. She has dementia and was really struggling at home which was making her very frustrated and unhappy. Initially, she was tearful during the first few weeks but the staff were so lovely with her and made
her feel part of their family. I do not live close by but visit as often as I can and Mum always has a smile on her face. The staff, both carers and office, are amazing and nothing is too much trouble for them. The home is always clean and tidy and the food is all freshly prepared. Lots of entertainment too. Thank you to all of you.

Skirbeck Court is a lovely friendly care home, from the moment my mother went in there she felt at home. The staff are all amazing, they go above & beyond for the residents. They have fun activities & lots of entertainment. I would highly recommend this wonderful care home.

During September my husband had a fall and the carers were with him within seconds. On this occasion, there were no injuries. Within minutes the senior carer had phoned me to let me know.
I do feel more confident knowing my husband is being looked after to a very high standard.

When I visit my mum I get a warm welcome from the staff. You can get yourself a hot or cold drink. I go to the garden party, bbq and even bingo. All the staff are very friendly, I go every week mostly on a Thursday. They also have a singer and residents sing along which is lovely to hear staff join
in and get residents who are able to walk and have a little dance with them. My mum loves it there. Very clean plenty of food and drinks. I would highly recommend Skirbeck Court.

I have been visiting this home for about a year and a half because I am a private carer and two of my clients have had to come here as more care was needed. The staff are always polite and welcoming nothing is too much trouble. Always offered drinks, and biscuits shortly after arrival and the manager
is kind, friendly and always listens to anything you have to say. The home is clean, tidy and smells lovely and fresh at all times, could not ask for more in a home.

When my mother first came to Skirbeck Court, she really was not very well, lack of confidence and vulnerable. Since being here, the improvement has been outstanding. This is due to the care and patience of the staff, who have all been excellent and have gone above and beyond.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

My Name is Naomi, I have been working in the care industry for over 20 years, I started working in care homes as an after school job in a kitchen, washing up after tea and I then started doing care shifts to help out and on weekends, it was then, that I found who I am.


Care for me has never been just a job, it is a vocation, something that I am truly passionate about. I have worked in most roles within the care home environments throughout Boston, Essex and Suffolk and in 2012 I qualified as a Nurse and returned to care homes in Essex and Suffolk, working my way through the ranks as a Nurse, then as a senior nurse, I then spent 8 years as a Deputy Manager, before moving back up to Lincolnshire. I have worked for several different care providers over the last 20 years including 3 large providers in the South of England before starting my Journey with OSJCT.


I joined OSJCT because their values align with my own, and I am looking forward to making a difference in the lives of the residents in my care. Over the course of my career, I have developed a real passion for end of life care and dementia care and really enjoy making a difference to people’s lives. Sometimes that difference can be as small as making someone smile when they’re having a bad day, or as big as being able to go paddle in the sea, or to go see a show.


If you were thinking about joining care, I would tell you it is hard work but very rewarding. Every day is different, and the little moments can really make a big impact for those living and working in care. I had lots of different jobs before care and this is by far the best.
