Whilst I am very happy with the care my mother receives, the kindness shown to her and concern for her well-being. There is always room for improvement in the care of others. The only problem I have is in the laundry, clothes go missing, things get torn and discolours hopefully this can be improved upon. I am, however, pleased she is at Abbott House she is safe and content.

I have my mother (aged 94 with dementia) on the waiting list as I think this is, by far the best care home in the area.
Meanwhile, I visit one of the residents, who has been living at Abbott House for 2-3 months.
She has settled in well and appears very happy.

Every time I visit, I'm impressed with the attitude of the staff. I've had personal conversations with the manager who is very "hands-on" and friendly.

During the past year, the staff and management at this home have continued to improve facilities, surroundings and providing better entertainment and activities. They only chose to employ carers who are dedicated and who treat the residents with respect and consideration. I would have no qualms in recommending this home to other persons in my position when they have to make a tough decision, as to whether or not they place their loved one in a care home.

My father moved into Abbott House in August and was very was unsettled. When he came out of hospital he said to a carer that he wouldn't come out of his room, after the first week he was out of his room for meals and to play dominoes with the other residents.

He has now settled in and has made a lot of friends.
