My grandma has been at Ashley court for 2 months now and the change and progress we have seen has been fantastic. Everytime we turn up (which is always at random times) grandma looks clean, well-dressed and has put weight back on so quickly. She's alway smiling and comments on how lovely the food is,
how kind the staff and residents are, and how she always gets a good nights sleep. My grandma has always been a very proud and independent woman so we worried how she would be when moving her to Ashley court but she has fitted in so well. A few of grandmas immediate family, including myself don't live local so being able to see what the residents are up to via the social media page makes such a difference and puts our mind at ease that grandma is happy, healthy and engaging.i would recommend Ashley court as a warm, welcoming family home that focuses on resident care and truly looks after their residents.

Jackie and staff are very friendly and look after my aunt very well. The home has lots of interesting and fun things for the residents, they bake, do arts and crafts and have sing songs. Today they are having music and cream tea which Tina is holding. Christmas they always have a party with an entertainer.
Rooms are light and well maintained, clean and the residents needs are all catered for. There is a hairdresser on site and my aunt is very happy, I would recommend the home.

We had been viewing various care homes to find one suitable for our mum, we viewed Ashely court, on the day the welcome was warm, friendly and professional, all the residents had smiles on their faces in the day room, that remains the same since our mum moved in 4 weeks ago. Each time we visit, the
staff and management team are always caring and happy to discuss any needs our mum may have, including liaising with the GP. Ashley Court is kept very clean and our mums room is excellent and includes an ensuite toilet. The food is excellent, plenty of choice, one afternoon during an activity the trolley was laden a cream tea, with lots of other goodies. The activities coordinator plans activities morning and afternoon she has a great way of engaging the residents, there are games, baking, hand massage and many more on offer. We feel very reassured that our mum is living at Ashley Court and cared for with such kindness and compassion, along with lots of laughter. Thankyou Ashley Court

My Mother recently moved into Ashley Court. She had been cared for at home for approximately four years but this became increasingly difficult as her health deteriorated. From our first visit to the home we have been impressed with the staff and their commitment to the residents. The home is warm, clean
and cosy and staff are constantly engaged with residents. The dining room is inviting and there is a range of food for residents to choose from. This is particularly important for residents as eating is often a problem for people with dementia and was certainly a major concern for my Mother who refused to eat, over the past three months surviving on hot cross buns. Since been at Ashley Court she has eaten a wide variety of food and enjoys her meals.
There are numerous activities residents can take part in and we are particularly impressed with the range of external services available within the home regular visits from medical professionals, chiropody and hairdressing.

Ashley Court provides exceptional care and a warm, welcoming environment that made a challenging transition much easier for the gentleman I cared for. From my initial inquiry to his final day, I have been consistently impressed by the dedication and genuine compassion of every member of staff.
The
entire team, from the manager and nurses to the care assistants and kitchen staff, go above and beyond to ensure residents feel valued and respected. The staff took great care to ensure his specific needs were met, always communicating any changes in his health proactively. Their attention to detail meant he always felt comfortable and secure.
My friend particularly loved the gardening and music on offer! I will forever be grateful to the team at Ashley Court for providing a safe, happy, and caring home for my closest friend. I had such peace of mind knowing he was in such capable and kind hands.

My mother was a resident at Ashley Court until her recent death. I cannot sufficiently praise the management and staff there for their care of her.
She was consistently treated with kindness and respect, despite the fact that her severe dementia must have made her challenging at times. Every effort
was made to ensure that she was made to feel at home when she moved there and I was kept informed of her progress and wellbeing. Nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble and I have always been thankful that I chose Ashley Court.

Mum arrived at Ashley Court Care Home 2 months ago now, and so far she seems to be settling in well. Rooms are very spacious and well furnished and include a ensuite. Ashley Court may not be a luxury facility, but it excels where it truly matters-care, comfort, and community. The home is clean and
welcoming, with a large dining room that serves as a hub for residents to enjoy hearty meals and social interaction. At mealtimes there is a varied choice daily to suit different tastes and dietary needs. Options range from traditional roast dinners and vegetarian pasta dishes to lighter soups and sandwiches, ensuring residents always have something satisfying to look forward to.

Activities are thoughtfully scheduled twice daily from Monday to Friday, encouraging engagement and companionship. Mornings might include gentle exercise or arts and crafts, while afternoons often feature bingo, music sessions, or reminiscence groups. The large communal lounge is a lively space where residents gath

All the staff here are wonderful, always willing to help with anything from any concerns to simply ensuring we have a good fun visit with family! The entertainer, is especially wonderful, constantly engaging all residents and encouraging them to join into group activities, and also has regular pampering
sessions with all residents doing nails and hand massages. Two members of staff have both been amazing with helping with the decline of family members, always very supportive and informative, any questions or concerns are addressed immediately and we are informed straight away of any changes to nans health and medications. The manager is really good with all the residents and manages the home very well, she is always around for a chat whenever you need one and is very supportive of the family. Overall, this care home has been a fantastic place for Nan, they have cared and supported Nan and we as a family are very grateful for everything all the staff have done in this past year.

Having visited my sister numerous times. I have such comfort knowing she is being very well cared for, I can see how happy she is, hearing her laughing and enjoying the company of the fellow residents. The staff are a friendly bunch and make a good team, they are always welcoming on my visits and assist
if I have any questions or concerns. They interact well with the resident and do their best to keep them all occupied. Ashley Court is a nice residential home with a nice, friendly atmosphere.

Excellent, couldn't fault them at all. From when Mum went in, in April 2022 they have been amazing.
They nursed Mum from Feb to March, all came in and saw her, made sure she was okay. We were in there every day and always made sure we were okay as well.
I don't have anything negative to say at all.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.802)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.802) out of 10 for Ashley Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.802 for Ashley Court is calculated as follows: ( (209 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 252 Ratings = 4.802
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashley Court is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Jacqui Marks

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2014

I began my journey at Ashley Court in 2014 as Deputy Manager, and in 2016, I was honoured to become the Registered Manager. But my path in care started much earlier—when I was just 17 years old. From the very beginning, I knew that caring for others wasn’t just a job for me; it was a calling.

Over the years, I’ve grown both personally and professionally. I’ve gained my NVQ Level 2, 3, and 5 in Health and Social Care, but more importantly, I’ve gained years of experience, countless memories, and a deep understanding of what it truly means to be there for someone—especially when they need it most.

Being a manager is not without its challenges, but it’s also one of the most rewarding parts of my life. I’m so proud to lead a team of kind, dedicated individuals who give their all every day. And what means the most to me is that, despite my responsibilities, I still get to be close to our residents—listening to their stories, sharing in their laughter, offering comfort in difficult times.

There’s something truly special about being able to make someone feel safe, heard, and cared for. That’s what fills my heart and keeps me going. I feel incredibly lucky to do what I love, surrounded by people who inspire me every single day.

Job Title: Head of Care Joined: 2014

I began my journey at Ashley Court in 2014 as a care assistant. With my previous experience, I quickly embraced the role of senior care assistant, working closely with residents to ensure they received the compassionate, personalized care they deserved. To further develop my skills, I earned my NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care

In 2018, I was promoted to deputy manager, a role that allowed me to combine hands-on care with broader leadership responsibilities. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of balancing administrative tasks with the genuine, everyday interactions that define our residents. It was a period of significant growth, both for myself and for the team I was proud to support.

Recently, I made the decision to step down from my deputy manager position to become the Head of Care. This change wasn’t about stepping away from leadership; rather, it was about reconnecting with what truly brings me joy—being directly involved in care. I wanted more time to focus on helping our residents enjoy a high quality of life, with compassion and respect as the cornerstones of every interaction.

I am incredibly proud to be part of Ashley Court, where each day offers the opportunity to touch lives, share smiles, and build a nurturing environment for our residents. It is an honour to work in a place that feels like home for so many, and I am excited to continue making a positive impact with every step I take.

Job Title: Head chef Joined: 2021

I was born and raised in Sri Lanka, where I worked as a professional actress & voice artist. Performing was my passion and identity. But when I moved to the UK, everything changed.

Looking for part-time work, I applied for a Kitchen Assistant role at Ashley Court in 2021. One day, when the chef called in sick, I was asked to step in. Watching the residents enjoy the meal I’d prepared sparked something in me — the same joy I once felt on stage. I realised food, like art, can touch hearts.

That day, I found a new stage — the kitchen.

I spoke with my manager, Jacqui, and asked if she would consider me for the role of Second Chef. With her support, I stepped into the role just six months after joining, and I threw myself into learning. I earned my Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering, as well as my Level 2 HACCP for Catering qualification.

In 2022, I became the Chef at Ashley Court and Head Chef in 2024. Cooking is my passion, and I put love, care, and intention into every meal I prepare to bring comfort to our residents. Watching them enjoy the food I create gives me a sense of peace and purpose that words cannot fully express.

Ashley Court isn’t just where I work — it’s where I found myself again. This is more than a job to me. It’s where my heart belongs, and I would happily do it for the rest of my life.

Job Title: Activity Co-ordinator Joined: 2018

I was inspired to become an activity coordinator while working as a chef in another care home. I never expected to be given this opportunity, as being a chef was all I knew. A friend recommended me to the manager, and I've never looked back since. I started at Ashley Court in November 2018 and began my NAPA activity training in February 2019.

This job is incredibly rewarding on an emotional level. I have the privilege of providing activities and entertainment that residents might be missing out on. It’s amazing to see them happy, smiling, laughing, and having fun. I also find it fulfilling to help new residents settle into their new home, offering support as they cope with fear and anxiety while making new friends.

Now that I have been in this role for so long, I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
