Staff are always very helpful and friendly with myself, as a visitor, and my mother raves at how nice they all are.

Appointment times are flexible and Mother is all ready for my visit.

Very pleased indeed. Mum is always well turned out and happy; she particularly enjoys the food - compliments to the chef! We feel that mum is very well cared for and enjoys her time in the home, thank you all for the hard work you do.

Mum is always dressed well and hair done well. Has been in hospital and GP put her on end of life care but staff looked after her really well and she has really improved.
Staff always welcome your visits and are easy to talk to.

Home always really clean and tidy.

My sister and I feel that during a very difficult year our mother has been well looked after, in fact after a recent illness when the GP put Mum on end of life care the staff have got her back on her feet. Although we have not been allowed the normal access we have always been welcomed by friendly staff. We have also noticed that the home is spotlessly clean when we have been and most importantly Mum seems happy.

Cheney House may be in need of refurbishment but the care given by the manager and her team is second to none. They care for the physical and mental well-being of each resident with kindness and respect. Visitors are welcomed at all times and feel that you are visiting your loved one in their own home.

I'm very satisfied with the care my stepfather receives. He has settled into a great routine and now eats and sleeps properly. My only concern is the lack of stimulation for the residents which I noticed on my last visit. I am always impressed by the friendliness of the staff when I visit.

Overall Experience

My partner has been a resident at the home for the past 15 months. At all times his standard of care and the understanding of the staff has been brilliant. Any concerns that I have had have been addressed immediately and I feel that he is in very safe hands. My only concern is the apparent lack of an activities coordinator some days. When there is not one present I feel that the residents should be doing more than sitting and listening to music - on my last visit there was nothing to keep them stimulated at all. Rather disappointing.

During my mum's stay in the home, she was treated with respect and was well cared for. She enjoyed her time there, especially the wonderful home-cooked food.

The carers and manager of Cheney House have been most supportive to all our family members (Grandchildren, son and Daughter-in-law) with the resident's admission for emergency respite care and now a permanent offer of residency. The staff have told it as it is, but with compassion and integrity- be it by phone calls or when visiting the resident.

Thank you. In this recent admission and how we all worked together is why I love my job so much. We have the very best of your Mother-in-Law now.

The home is in a nice setting and secure. The staff are fantastic and so kind. Main concerns are the bedrooms they need updating and all the furniture could do with renewing. The management very caring and protective of. Residents and staff are also very helpful.

The care provided at the home for my wife has been of a good standard. The manager has been very helpful and taken the time to talk things through with me on a one-to-one basis, giving me reassurance at this difficult time. The interior of the home could do with some improvements, however, it's the quality of the care that is important to us as a family. Thank you!

The care provided at the home for my step-mother has been of a good standard. The manager and her team care caring, professional and transparent. The quality of care, empathy for the family and one to one discussions with regard to worries or concerns have been dealt with very well. The interior of the home could do with some work, especially the lift - however, the quality of is wah's important. Thank you.

As a former carer to my own mother, this is my view. It is one of the hardest types of care to give. Cheney House may not be the grandest of residence but I found an immense level of patience, kindness and support within this place of safety for so many.

A lovely old building surrounded by gardens. Inside was very clean. The staff are friendly, helpful and showed great care to the residents. There are structured activities and outings. The food is good. My sister was clean and well dressed. She has made friends and was cheerful and happy.

Each time I visit the staff are brilliant. Sometimes I see they are extremely busy feeding, assisting feeding and entertaining the residents.

I now understand more regarding the work they do and the help they give that I myself can no longer give my mother.

As a family we have found the standard of care that he has received to be extremely good. We have visited at varying times and days and found a good staffing level and residents to be well cared for and as happy as they can be. Overall very impressed. Building and decor are dated but this is far less important than good care for anyone.
