Barchester Collingtree Park Care Home

My mother has just spent a month at Barchester Collingtree Park Care Home for respite care. I was very impressed with the care she received and how friendly and caring the staff were to my mother and myself. I have no worries about Mum having another holiday with them in the future.

I enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles and have a large table in my room to leave partly finished puzzles on.

I ordered some cream for her. When they'd used it up, they asked her if her friend could buy more! Not impressed!

Barchester Collingtree Park Care Home is a very pleasant care home. It is in a lovely position and is always very clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and the carers are kind and compassionate. They are approachable and happy to help.

There is a severe lack in communication between relatives and management. Minutes from a meeting, at the beginning of May, have still not been distributed. Changes in senior staffing occur with no notification before or after the event.

She joins in all activities.

After caring for my husband for eight years (he has vascular dementia), I felt I could not cope anymore and reluctantly felt it was time to find a care home for him. I looked at a number of care homes. I found Barchester Collingtree Park Care Home welcoming with a nice atmosphere. Also, it is only 5 minutes walk from where I live. I can go and visit my husband at any time. I feel he is well cared for and safe there. They do a number of activities with them and have a lovely garden.

Dad has now been a resident here for more than 5 years, and in this time he has been very well looked after the whole time. The team is fabulous, and it seems they can't do enough for all the residents and indeed visitors, with nothing being too much trouble. There have been some management changes in the last couple of years, but the level of service has continued and is probably a higher standard now, so we have no concerns at all about Dad's care. He is happy, safe, and well cared for, and even during the difficult times of Covid the team at Barchester strived to continue the high level of care. I don't think we could have picked a better place for Dad. Many thanks to the whole team at the home.

My mother has really settled well here. The staff are very caring and there is a lovely atmosphere. Very homely, lovely rooms, and the food is excellent. I don’t think we could have chosen a better place.

I am extremely happy with the home. The staff are considerate, friendly and deliver a family-feel.

The staff at Barchester Collingtree Park Care Home are always friendly and the reception lady on the front desk always makes me feel welcome. My friend has settled in really well and looks very well in herself which is all down to the care she is receiving.

My father was admitted to Collingtree Park Care Home after spending many weeks in and out of (mostly in) hospital. The hospital team were terrific and did all they could but then we needed somewhere that Dad could receive the sort of 24-hour care that is just not possible at home, to allow him to heal and enjoy as good a quality of life as possible. The Collingtree team quickly responded to an inquiry, followed up promptly with a hospital visit to assess needs and moved Dad in. His room is bright and cheerful and very clean. The staff are wonderful, from the housekeeping and cleaning staff to the care team and the management. Dad's general health and spirits have improved, thanks to good food and lots of attention. He is even participating in exercise and joining other residents for meals in the dining room which seemed unimaginable a month ago. The gardens are lovely and are a wonderful respite from being indoors when the weather cooperates. Thank you to the entire Collingtree team!

Can't comment on activities as Dad is a solitary chap by nature.

Wonderful care home with exceptional staff who are professional and friendly towards their residents and their relatives and friends alike, any part of the home we saw was clean and tidy. I can only give this place a five star rating.

I have always been made to feel welcome when visiting my sister. All staff members have been pleasant and professional. I cannot comment on the activities as my sister has not joined in with any that I know of.

Since my mum came to visit Collingtree Park Care Home, she has been treated with care and kindness. The facilities are generally very good. It is a shame that the food is not of a particularly good standard and is the issue my mum talks about most. It is often served cold when it should be hot and is not always cooked very well. The manager is very approachable and always visible and values the opinions of the residents.

Basically very happy with the care. Mum and Dad receive a lot of help-both needing the hoist or the complete hoist to move from chair to chair or bed. Both seem happy, the food is excellent and the carers are very kind but very busy. Communication between myself and the carers is excellent. It's a very friendly and secure environment. The only slight issue is the lack of activities.

The staff are warm and very friendly. They treat my parents with respect and are very kind. The food is lovely, my father really enjoys his food which always looks lovely. There is a hood variety of foods, it all looks home-cooked and nourishing. They have good access to GP and medical care.

Lovely caring and hardworking staff. Nothing too much trouble.
