Barchester Collingtree Park Care Home

My father required a period of respite following a fall at home where he had been living for the last 52 years. The staff at Collingtree Park Care Home understood his position and made him feel very welcome, so much so that he decided to stay permanently. All the staff and management are visible and approachable and I'm delighted to see dad settled and comfortable. He enjoys the interaction and activity provided. He tells me the food is very acceptable which is a compliment in itself. The premises are always clean and fresh smelling, overall I'm very happy with our choice.

I cannot praise the staff enough at Collingtree, specifically the lovely admin assistant who answered the phone. I rang very distressedly, needing emergency respite care for my dad. I had been thrown into finding a suitable care home at short notice and had no idea how to go about it. The lady I spoke to was so understanding and compassionate and instantly put my mind at rest. She explained how the admission process worked, rang me regularly to check on our situation and generally went over and above to support me through a tricky few weeks. Amazing service.

I am the resident ambassador for the home and have lived here over the last year and a half. I am so pleased with the new management and the activities alongside the food have been great! The care is just fantastic.

Mum always looks forward to having her holiday breaks at Collingtree. She feels that she will be well taken care of and have company which is so important to her. The staff are all very kind and friendly, she knows most of them by name which is a sign that they really do stay in their roles for many years. The food is a highlight as are the varied activities.

My mother was placed in Collingtree Park for a fortnight of respite care due to the onset of Dementia in December 2019. It turned out the home took her on full time. I do not think my mother was as easy to look after as first thought, and I have only got praise for all the members of staff who coped with her through 2020. Everyone always showed kindness, and even with the stress of Covid, in work and at home, were always welcoming on the few visit days allowed. I would happily recommend anyone to look around the house, and while I hope I never need to be in a home, I would be very happy at Collingtree.

My wife was in Collingtree for respite care to allow me a break. I have used Collingtree for 10 years and have never had any issues. I would recommend this care home to anyone requiring respite or permanent residency.

My mother is suffering with dementia and had to move into Collingtree Park in March 2021 due to her worsening condition. Every member of staff we have encountered (either over the phone or during our visits) has been caring and professional. I was expecting the transition for mum to be extremely difficult but thanks to the care and professionalism of the team at Collingtree it has been quite the opposite. The team understands the emotions involved for relatives of new residents and have been extremely supportive towards myself and my sister. They have made a real effort to get to know mum as an individual and are always trying to engage her in activities that she will enjoy. We have been very impressed with everyone at Collingtree Park.

This was very difficult for me, but I was really pleased that a member of staff from Memory Lane escorted her and stayed with her throughout what could have been a traumatic day. This staff member is amazing at her job, with a natural caring way. She is an absolute asset to Barchester. She has developed a wonderful relationship with my mum and I'm sure it was a great comfort to have her with her, as it was for me to know my mum was in such good hands.

From my first visit with my sister to view Collingtree, I have had nothing but positive experiences and I am very happy both with the level of care and the home itself. The staff are all very accommodating and friendly. Altogether, an excellent place.

All staff have been pleasant and caring despite some difficulties experienced during my father's stay.

I would like to say my husband has a good time here and is well looked after by all the staff.

All the staff are very caring. Mum has said that unfortunately, the food is not hot and that sometimes the portions are rather small or very interesting, however, the soup is always lovely.

We would highly recommend Collingtree Park care home to anyone, the care and dignity they show to residents is excellent. My father has settled in well due to the support of all the team, including all the management.

I phoned daily to get updates from the staff about my mother as she was deteriorating but often found the person who knew the answer was doing rounds so could not talk at the time. There are a few staff who answer the phone that is not carers so waiting for the right staff member was often irritating at a time when my anxieties were high. I felt sometimes I was being a nuisance to the staff not by what they said but by the tone of voice they used toward me.

Collingtree for Mum is home in the true sense of the word.

Collingtree has a real family and friendly feel. All the staff are excellent and friendly. My mother has settled exceptionally well in what are the toughest time for care homes. The visiting facilities at Collingtree are excellent under current constraints and the booking system is excellent.

My third stay at Collingtree is like coming home, staff are excellent and welcoming. Everywhere is immaculate on the cleaning side. Catering choice of menu is very good, meals in my room on this visit and the same welcoming staff. Nothing anyone could find fault with. Despite the Covid virus, the staff kept up their standards. Well done.
