During my mother's time spent at the home, she has been treated with respect and the care given to her has been outstanding. She felt safe and asked not to be moved to anywhere else when she was asked about her feelings on the home. Sadly she became ill and deteriorated quite quickly and she and us
as a family were given the best care and support possible.

I can't thank Sandalwood Court enough for the care they gave my grandmother in the couple of years she lived there. It was a real home-from-home and the staff really understood her and accepted her likes and dislikes. A big highlight was having her hair and nails done on a Tuesday morning! When visiting,
we were always greeted with smiles from the staff and they were never too busy to chat and update us on her progress. In the weeks leading up to her passing, the level of care and attention she received was incredible, along with family too. We were always offered tea or coffee whilst sitting with her and nothing too much trouble. Thank you so much for everything - Sandalwood is a wonderful home.

From the moment my nan moved into Sandalwood Court she was given the highest quality of care. For 3 years the staff were friendly and chatty, taking genuine interest in their residents and family that visited. We felt no guilt at her needing to live in the home as she was so very content to be there
and couldn’t sing staff's praises high enough. Unfortunately, we recently lost my nan, but the care that she received in her final months and the support we received as a family was far beyond over and above. Remembering conversations and names and always quick to give us something to smile over on the hardest of days. You made saying our final goodbyes so much easier and more pleasant than if she had been in hospital. If I had to recommend somewhere for others to send their relatives, this would be my first pick without a doubt.

Wonderful staff always happy to help and answer my questions. Mum is always clean tidy and happy when I come in to see her.
The activities they have here are twice a day and are fun packed again well-supported by the residents and staff.
Mum is so happy and content here I have no doubt that I am
leaving her in capable hands of the staff and feel she is well-loved.

Mum first joined Sandalwood as a resident in February 2023. To say that we were dubious was an understatement. Nobody wants a loved one to go into care, but we were struggling with Mum's Alzheimer and we felt this was the only option. Since moving in, the care she has received has been exemplary, and
the support we have received has been over and above.
It has not been without its challenges, as Mum has had her moments, but we have been so impressed that behavioral changes were not dismissed as just part of her illness and were investigated fully and medication adjusted.
Mum has settled in well and enjoys the daily activities (crafts, games, dancing, and singing) - to name just a few. The staff certainly kept all the residents entertained, and the Christmas activities and decorations were brilliant - certainly exceeded my expectations.
I would like to thank all the staff for their continued support of my mum; you are all wonderful.

After three and a half very happy and comfortable years Mum's time in Sandalwood Court has sadly come to an end. The care that Mum and the family received during this time was exemplary. Mum was happy, contented, nurtured and cared for so well that there are not enough words to express our gratitude.
Unfortunately Mum had to go into hospital for her final hours but it was wonderful to hear the hospital staff praise the care home because they knew it was good by the notes and paperwork which accompanied her. Praise indeed in my opinion. I will miss my visits to Sandalwood as I always felt part of the family. I would recommend this home to anyone needing care for a loved one, there will never be better.

From the very first day until the very last, we were lucky we got to call this place Dad's home. Knowing we could leave Dad in loving and professional care took away any worries we had, especially with all his health problems.
Sometimes, he couldn’t believe how amazing Sandlewood was. When Dad was
feeling well, which was more often than not, we always had fun talking and laughing with all the staff. Words can’t describe how I feel about this special place! We experienced the hardest thing anyone has to go through in losing a loved one, but the staff went above and beyond for my dad and the family. They were Dad's angels to the very end to make his passing as comfortable as possible, especially two of them (you know who you are). I’ll never forget the kindness, compassion and dignity showed to my dad and the family. You’ll always have a special place in my heart! It’s not just a care home but a loving home that really cares. Rest in peace Dad; you’ll be forever missed but always in our hearts.

The staff here are lovely and always treated my grandad with respect and dignity. The week leading up to my grandad passing away, the staff welcomed a lot of our close family to be close to him night and day and it really warmed my heart to know someone was always with him and he wasn't alone. They
always checked on us to see if we needed anything and were always on hand to offer us support when things got emotional. My grandad loved it here and they took great care of him until the end. Thank you to all the staff, they are amazing!

All the staff were extremely helpful and caring towards myself, my grandad and my family. They made my grandad very comfortable while being in there when he was well and leading up to his passing, they were extremely kind to his family too offering us tea, coffee, refreshments, or to help ourselves.
We felt at home there as did my grandad. He felt very comfortable around all of the staff I just cannot thank them enough for their hearts at the worst possible time ever (when he was passing) they got us involved in caring for him too letting us help change him and make him as comfortable as possible. Their urgency for calling the Marie Curi nurses/district nurses to make him extra comfortable was beyond impeccable! Thank you so much Sandalwood Court! We are so very grateful.

From start to finish they have shown a level of care for my dad that i could have only dreamt of, even when he received his terminal diagnosis they wanted him back to look after him at 'Dad's home'. They let us stay nearly round the clock in the final few days, providing everything we needed and when
the end came, the staff were caring, respectful and compassionate. There are not enough words me or my family can say to thank them for everything they did and are doing still even after he has gone.

Our family have nothing but praise for this care home. Our mother/mother-in-law/gran lived the last two and half years of her life very happy in a caring, friendly home from home environment. All staff went above and beyond to care for her like she was their own family member. Thank you so much.

My mother-in-law has recently had to leave Sandalwood due to a change in her care needs. We are very sad that we had to move her, as we always found the care and attention given to Mum to be exceptional. She was always treated with kindness, compassion and dignity in a professional manner. As a family,
we have always been more than happy with the standards of care at Sandalwood Care Home. We will miss the staff and wish to thank them for their care of Mum over the past five years.

My mother has been in Sandalwood Court since May 2022 and has settled in very well. The level of care is fantastic. The staff are kind and patient, and the home is very well equipped. It’s hard when older folk have to give up their independence and go into residential care, but the amazing staff at
Sandalwood Court have made every effort to settle Mum in and make her comfortable. She is in better health than she has been for several years and is very well looked after. Would highly recommend it.

My sister was taken into care at Sandalwood Court in August 2021, suffering from Advanced Dementia, Unifocal Pagets Disease and Diabetes. Her stay started when Covid restrictions were in force, but family members were kept well informed by staff as to her well-being. Now restrictions are eased, one
can witness the care and support residents receive from dedicated staff. Every resident is treated with dignity, from management and carers through to the cleaning staff. Residents have their own ensuite rooms where meals can be taken or in the lounge with other residents. Residents are cared for and supported by very special people.

My mum moved into Sandalwood Court on the 11th March 2022. Mum is 89 years old, is blind and has dementia. From the moment I visited Mum in Sandalwood, I felt the warmth and care given to all the residents, including Mum. Sandalwood has a very pleasant, calming atmosphere. Everyone goes out of their
way to help with any issues or concerns. I am very happy that Mum is lucky enough to be looked after by such friendly, caring staff throughout the whole building. Every day Mum takes part in all the activities and loves the entertainment, which is offered on a regular basis. Shut out to the entertainment/activity lady who goes above and beyond to keep the residents on their toes and gives them great pleasure. I feel relieved and very satisfied to know that Mum is in the best place where she is kept safe and well cared for. Mum looks really well and better than she has done for a long while. Thanks to all the staff at Sandalwood Court.

Working on the nights shows you a different aspect of care that most do not get to experience. In 2015 I was promoted to Night senior and in 2020 to Night Team Leader.


I am very passionate about my role here at Sandalwood and I like to lead by example and act as a mentor to those on the night team here. I can often be heard singing along with residents at all hours of the night and as long as it makes individuals feel comforted and safe that is all that matters.


Here at Sandalwood Court, we all work together as a team, a team which I am very proud to be part of.

Job Title: Domestic Supervisor Joined: 2013

I have worked at Sandalwood Court since 2013 as part of the domestic team. I was overjoyed when I was promoted to the role of domestic supervisor in 2018.


I love my job and working with my colleagues. We are a fantastic team and we are always helping each other out. We all work together to ensure that the home is cleaned to a high standard.


We are always getting involved in different activities to brighten up our resident’s day and this can involve dressing up and getting our dancing shoes on.


I have formed some fantastic relationships over the years with residents and visitors.


I also work as a bank staff for the kitchen here and I enjoy working there too.


We are all one big happy family here and we all work together to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.


I have always been a people person and really enjoy listening to the residents talk about their own life stories.


I have really enjoyed my years working here and hope to enjoy many more.
