Langwith is great I wouldn't be anywhere else. Great staff. Great food and a great room and my carer is the best!
Thank you we are glad you chose us to look after you.
Good efficient care home. Happy with the care.
Thank you for your review, thank you for choosing Langwith Lodge to care for your family.
Overall, I feel the carers are very helpful and kind. Nothing seems too much trouble, even though at times, usually when they're busy at meal times etc, it takes a while to answer the buzzer. Having said that, they treat any mishaps that may occur in a kind and thoughtful way.
Thank you I will look into staff response times and endeavour to improve that, and thank you for your kind words about the staff.
When I visit I am made to feel welcome and there is always a member of staff nearby when needed. I don't have to go and find staff.
When I have a query and I go to the office I am always made welcome and have any questions answered and dealt with promptly.
Thank you its a pleasure to look after him.
Can't fault them the way they care for my mum.
The staff need more rewarding in what they do, the hours and the paperwork they have to fill in for each resident are endless. They need less paperwork and more hours with the residents. As I go visiting they seem to be filling in paperwork.
I give them a medal, they way they look after the residents.
Thank you, this week we have implemented the new paperless PCS system in the home to reduce paperwork, thank you again for your kind words about the staff.
My wife has been seven years in the home and I have found it excellent in her care and wellbeing. I found the staff caring and obliging and management very helpful.
Thank you it is a pleasure to look after such a wonderful lady. The staff enjoy your visits and your great humour.
Dad was always clean and shaved (when he would allow them!) and well-presented.
Dad is now on end of life and the staff cannot do enough for him and also us as a family. We have been by dad's side throughout this heartbreaking and devastating process and are truly thankful for the support we are receiving from everyone here at Langwith Lodge. We cannot thank you enough and will be forever grateful for the love and genuine support you have shown to dad and ourselves.
Thank you for your review and thank you for letting us care for your dad.
The Langwith Lodge Care Home is very tidy and clean. The meals are very good and the staff are compassionate, thoughtful and caring. They make sure that medication is given at the right times and anything they can do to make my stay easier they did. The patients are a cheery bunch of people and quite charming too. A delightful stay at Langwith Lodge and would be prepared to return again.
Thank you for your lovely comment we hope to see you again soon.
Of course, Mum was a little unsettled the first day or so, but she quickly became settled, and this is solely due to the staff members reassuring her, encouraging her to join in and giving her time and attention, which is something she craves. After only two weeks, she is saying it's just like home and can't praise the staff enough. We were amazed at how well Mum looked after two weeks and how talkative. She said, I'm not depressed and loved everyone. All down to fab staff and care received. Thank you. Langwith lodge.
My mum moved into the care home in Feb 2022, she had a massive stroke and can no longer talk, walk or feed herself, the staff had a very hard job of working out my mum's needs as she couldn't communicate. I've got to say they do an excellent job with her, nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They are very friendly and patient with her even on her grumpy days, she is always clean and happy when we visit and if she's happy I'm happy. I would definitely recommend this place.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, it's lovely to hear how you feel the staff have supported your mum, I will pass on your lovely words to the staff, thank you again.
My grandad has lived here for the last 5 years plus. He loves the staff and says they are his family. They laugh and make him feel at home. My own daughter and grandchildren visit regularly, it's clean and friendly and my grandad never says a bad word about the services or residents or staff. They always make us feel welcome and keep us up to date with changes etc. Langwith Lodge keep doing what you do!
Thank you for taking to time to leave a review, it is lovely to hear how you and your family feel supported by our staff, I will pass on your kind words to all staff at Langwith Lodge. It is a privilege to care for your dad.
We spoke to the manager of the dementia unit and also to the office administrator.
Both members of staff were so helpful and spent some time with us and answered any questions from us honestly and with empathy.
It was a pleasure to spend time with them both and although they where busy they took the time to assist us as much as they could and gave 110%.
Staff at the home are always welcoming and this is much appreciated as the effects of dementia on loved ones is very heartbreaking at times and the care my mother-in-law receives reassures us that she is always in safe hands.
Our gratitude and appreciation to all involved, thank you so much.
Thank you for your lovely review of our home, caring is everything to every single member of staff, I will pass on your kind words to all the team.
It was a heartbreaking decision, that we had to make, to place nana in a care home, after looking after her at my mums for several years, but at 103 years old we could no longer provide for her needs. The manager and carers at the Lodge made the transition far easier than we expected and made sure that nana was comfortable and valued.
The compassion shown by the staff, when nana sadly passed away, was greatly appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble and I cant thank them enough.
I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this facility. A truly caring care home
It was a pleasure to look after her and thank you for trusting us to look after her.
The worst thing I find is when I talk to other people, I'm told that most care homes are the same. I am not impressed. Maybe I expect too much? For £1500.
My three months stay in the home while I regained my strength and confidence was excellent. Everyone, the carers, management, cleaners, handymen and gardeners where all a pleasure to know. Their time, patience and cheerfulness was second to none. It’s really good to be home now but I will miss everyone at the lodge. Highly recommended.
We truly miss you, such a lovely review thank you so much. We really appreciate the review you have left for our care home and staff.
Whilst granddad had a fear that coming into residential care meant he was "being sent away", nothing could've been further from the truth. This stay was the absolute best thing that could've happened to him at this stage of his life, and I think he'd tell you himself if he could. He went from being lonely at home with three times a day carers and family visits to be surrounded by staff and residents who could listen to his stories, chat with him, and feed him up! He loved them. He put on 9kg and it's a miracle! They engaged him in activities, got him outside into the fresh air to play hook a duck, when we couldn't even get him in his own garden. There was a quality to his last months of life I could never have offered him.
The EOL care was the best I have seen, proactive, communicative, sympathetic, offering comfort to both him and me at the saddest of times.
I recommend 100%, thank you to all.
The manager and all the staff were absolutely brilliant looking after my Dad whilst he was in their care. Mum, myself, my brother and all the family couldn’t thank them all enough for everything they did for him and us. And we still go to visit them even though Dad has passed away. Many thanks, you’re all fantastic.
Thank you.
I cannot thank every member of the staff from maintenance, cleaning, amazing health medical and caring team, to the fantastic management of this wonderful care home enough. It's nothing short of excellent. My sister-in-law has been with you now for approximately 1 full year. To witness their absolute love and devotion they give to all the residents in such a natural caring way is second to none. The menu and choices are selected to suit all the different needs of the individuals. I go home knowing from the bottom of my heart my lovely sister-in-law has always been safe, relaxed and happy in your caring hands. God bless you all for always greeting visitors and residents so naturally at all times. I fully recommend Langwith Lodge its various lounges, decor, grounds and its carers are 5*
Langwith Lodge are taking very good care of my mum it's a relief to be able to just come and enjoy spending time together the staff are really good at what they do and are very friendly I can see mum likes all the staff.

Meet the Team (1)

“I began my career approximately 20 years ago as a carer, and have worked tirelessly to progress to where I am now. Now, as Home Manager, I feel that I can inspire and support my team in the same ways that I have been encouraged throughout my professional life. I am so passionate about this line of work, and the people I am able to positively affect in all that I do. I was drawn to a career in care after my father was taken poorly. It was only natural that I would be the one to care for him, and I realised I’d found my calling. My career path hasn’t always been easy, but I have embraced every challenge as I get to know more about the people I care for. I am still learning - I don’t think we ever really stop. This is especially relevant when it comes to caring for people living with dementia.
The more we get to know about the individual, the better the care we can provide. I have implemented this way of thinking throughout my career, ensuring that we look after the person and not the illness. Our residents are so special, and we love to get to know their stories as we care for them.
I have a fantastic team behind me. Each member of staff treats our residents as if they were members of their own family, and that’s how Langwith Lodge is run; we really are one big family."
