As a family we are highly delighted with my mums care. Mum came into care for 2 weeks for respite and she was so happy, we decided for mum to stay here. She loves it. The staff are incredibly brilliant to my mum and the family. The home also provides care for the family as well as my mum. When we come

Mum has been receiving respite care at Newgate Lodge since 27th January this year. I have been delighted at the care and support given to mum. All staff are friendly and caring and mum is receiving excellent care. Staff include mum in appropriate activities and are sensitive to her needs. Mum is living
with vascular dementia and staff recognise and support mum to be as independent as she is able. Mum is clean, well fed and she is in a safe, secure environment. I can't think of a better place for mum to be. I highly recommend Newgate Lodge as a great place for care and support. All staff are committed to their roles and I feel confident to approach them when enquiring about mums well being. Well done Newgate Lodge.

My mum has been in the Lodge for the last 3 months and I can honestly say that she loves it. All the staff go above and beyond, they make her feel so loved and cared for, just like an extended family. The activities and entertainment are great and keep her young at heart. She loves the food and the
communal dining and likes to chat to the other residents. The staff make all the family welcome every time we visit.

Whenever I visit the home I'm always impressed by how clean and tidy the bedrooms, lounge and dining room are, the staff are very friendly and helpful and I can see that my mum (who has dementia) is very well cared for and happy and content
I have occasionally visited at meal times and the dinners
look lovely, as do the sandwiches at tea time.
Lots of entertainment and activities are provided and they have even included my mum in group visits to the theatre and a local cafe which she thoroughly enjoyed.
I love that they keep relatives updated on social media where I regularly see photographs of my mum and others enjoying activities.
Staff do seem to try to think of anything which will improve their quality of life, be that visits from children at the local primary school, visits from therapy dogs, or having a manicure.
I would highly recommend this home.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
