Mam's room is always very clean. Mam is always clean. The staff seem very kind and concerns are dealt with.

I do not see any entertainment going on. I think Mam gets very bored.

Wonderful care home. Staff are great and super friendly. My gran being quite new to the home is really enjoying her time at the home. We as a family have seen a massive difference in them which makes the decision of putting her in a home so much easier.

Newgate Lodge have been caring for my dad since 2018, he has dementia. The home is always clean and tidy, never any unpleasant smells. All the staff are fabulous and lovely to residents and family members. He loves it when they have music on or singers in. The family are always informed of any health issue however small and they coped especially well with covid. Residents are treated with dignity and loving care so I know dads safe and looked after well at all times. I've recommended the home to other families facing the care question for loved ones with dementia.

When we chose a care home for Mum we felt Newgate Lodge stood out from the rest in the area, many years on from that decision we can honestly say the same is true today. The home is so well designed with a number of lounges/dining areas, rather than a single large space, making it feel like your own home. The staff and management make the home so welcoming for residents and their relatives, on top of which is the amazing care they provide to our loved ones. I have seen over the years a low turnover of staff which means a great deal, with new carers integrating so well into the Newgate family whether they be very young or joining from other homes, their empathy and friendliness with residents is outstanding. I would have no hesitation in recommending Newgate Lodge for a relative.

Unfortunately, due to the poor mobility and dementia my mother was suffering from, we had to make the decision to put her into Newgate Lodge Care Home, a decision we didn't regret as we knew that she would be safe there and well looked after. The staff were very attentive and considerate towards her and always made a fuss of her and enjoyed a good laugh with her. We were always informed if there were any health problems to be concerned about and they allowed us to visit her anytime we wanted to and to stay as long as we wanted to if necessary, especially in the last few days of her life. I would definitely recommend Newgate Lodge to anyone looking for a care home for their nearest and dearest.

My mother was a resident at this care home for 6 years. I would highly recommend this care home for your loved one. The carers are amazing and treated my mum as if she was one of their family. The level of care was second to none. I also felt very welcome, the carers and staff were like my family too and I miss them since my mum's passing.

On behalf of our family can I say thank you to all at Newgate lodge for the love, care and compassion shown to mum over the last 12 months while she was in your care. Visiting was difficult both with Covid and lockdown but we were always kept updated with mums care and any changes to it.

Not all heroes wear capes. A massive thank you to the staff for always being on the end of the phone to answer any questions also to each and every carer that was involved in mum's care we will be forever grateful.

In common with other people in their 90’s, my friend was reluctant to be admitted for respite care. However, he settled into Newgate Lodge within a few days, and on leaving had completely changed his mind about whether he would ever live in a care home setting permanently. Throughout his stay, he was treated as an individual and with courtesy. We all had the greatest admiration for the attention given to him by the staff and management and my friend came to look upon all involved with his care as true friends. His old friends were able to visit and take him out either for a walk around the local area or further afield to places of interest and even a pub lunch or two became part of his routine. All in all Newgate Lodge Care Home turned a very difficult time into one full of support, care, compassion and understanding. Well done to all of you.

Having had some experience of care homes, I feel Newgate Lodge is excellent. Very supportive, kind, honest, approachable staff, lovely food. Very good hygiene and cleanliness throughout. Very good communication. And all this whilst the country battles an awful virus, not helped by an incompetent Government. Very impressive indeed, keep it up.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so lucky to have such a caring and devoted staff team that are a real credit to our company. Would completely recommend Newgate Lodge. My grandad has lived at Newgate Lodge since October last year. He remains so happy and content at Newgate. He has a great relationship with team leaders and care staff. Staff go above and beyond for residents and family members during this awful time. Every time I've spoken to management, it's been very friendly and inviting, also very easy to talk to. Thank you so much for your continued care.

My mum is 90, had a fall in her own home and fractured her arm. After three weeks in the hospital, we moved her to Newgate Lodge for a seven-week period of respite. The staff were all very friendly to me, spoke to mum a lot and took her to the hospital for checkups twice. They definitely helped mum recover from the fracture, which has healed well. They kept her moving and she was quite fit when she left. The food is good and nourishing. The garden is very nice and the indoor corridors are quite wide. The rooms are nice and freshly decorated.
