My mum, as been a resident at Sutton lodge for 5 years, im really happy with the care she receives, she's happy and content. The staff are really lovely and caring and always attentive to any individual needs. I'm always kept up to date with any information or concerns. The activities my mum engages in are amazing, and so lovely to see. Always lots of activities on a weekly basis for residents to be involved in. Always feel welcomed, when i visit myself and my dog xx

My mum has been at Sutton Lodge Care Home for seven months now, and I wouldn't be happier with the care she's receiving. She is happy and settled, which gives our family peace of mind. The staff are attentive and genuinely caring, making sure residents are comfortable and well looked after. The food is home cooked and nourishing. A special mention to the events organiser, who is an absolute godsend, making sure there's always something fun and engaging for residents.

The staff here are excellent paricularly in relation to the activities provided. There is something happening all the time! There is always plenty of staff looking after & attending to needs. Staff are also visably seen cleaning which is also excellent. The food is plentiful & appears to be all home cooked. I would like to be regularly updated re mum's health & well being which doesn't happen unless I ask. The rooms are pleasant but very expensive, which I understand is standard across the sector. Overall I feel my mum is safe and well looked after.

After 3 years, the resident has settled in well. I visit her on a weekly basis and I am surprised that whoever she comes into contact with at the care home, the staff all know her by name and interact with her in a friendly and caring way, as such, she loves and soaks up all the attention given, so much so, she is everyone's friend.

Overall I believe the care is very good. The staff seem to really care about the residents.
Dad has recently had a couple of falls and this is not something new. He is unsteady on his feet and the care staff believe his shoes are too big, however I believe this will happen again even with the correct size shoes.

The case has been referred to the falls clinic in January after a fall and we have heard nothing, he has had several falls since.

The care given by staff to our Mum has been 100% over the past 10 years in Sutton Lodge. Since the new manager has been here, no communication or compassion from this person as no people skills with residents' families. This home has been our family until the changes in the last few months. We have always rated this care home at a high standard but unfortunately not anymore.

Reply from Claire Sharpe, Partner at Sutton Lodge Residential Home

Whilst I am delighted to hear that the care given to your mum over the last ten years has been 100 percent, I am really disappointed to read your review of the last few months. We have not been made aware of any issues to do with the new Manager and none have been raised during your Mum's in...

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Sutton Lodge.
My friend has been in the home for around five years now, and her care has been second to none.
There is always something going on to keep residents occupied and stimulated.
They are all well cared for, and with the pub, tea room and nail bar, it’s amazing.

You are all angels.

It is never easy to to have to place someone in care, but due to their cognitive decline and becoming a danger to themselves it became necessary. Although Mother doesn't really understand where she is (sure she thinks she is on holiday) she is now living her best life, and we know she is cared for well and she is in safe hands, the staff are amazing and genuinely caring, the facilities and activities are great too, thank you Sutton Court and all the staff for looking after my mum in the way you do.

I cannot praise the staff at Sutton Lodge highly enough for the care they show not only my mum but all of the residents. Today I spent some time in the home visiting, and despite the challenges, the staff showed how truly caring they were, with nothing being too much trouble. My mum has been there seven years now, and it really is home-from-home, especially with the cat around.

Each resident is treated as an individual, time is taken to make them comfortable and happy, and the staff are always smiling and chatting. As a family, we cannot thank you enough.

My mum was in Sutton Manor since October 2020. She was moved to the Lodge in the spring of 2022 as her need had changed and she was very restless. Since being in the Lodge mum has really settled down. The staff are wonderful with her and have lots of time to give. As a family, we are very impressed and are happy for mum to be there. They provide lots of entertainment and comfortable surroundings and the food looks great too. We love taking mum to the tearoom that was built in the covid period so residents could still have visits from family and friends.
