Fantastic care home with amazing staff; they all go above and beyond to make the residents happy. The food is of a very high standard, and so is the cleanliness.

I would highly recommend this care home.

My sister in law was extremely well cared for in Sutton Lodge. The staff were very friendly and attentive and always had time for a chat and a laugh with her. Visitors are always made welcome and encouraged to join in activities with their relatives and enjoy the entertainment with them. I would have no reservations about recommending the care home to friends and family.

Overall Experience

I have cared for my mum in her own home for the past 8 1/2 years until she had a stroke in March 2020, just days into the coronavirus lockdown. After 2 days in hospital, she was transferred to Sutton Lodge Residential Home. I have not been able to visit my mum inside the home, so cannot comment on the facilities there, but I am very impressed with the members of staff I have been in contact with and the care and compassion they have shown to my mum. In these difficult lockdown circumstances, they have done their best to ensure that we are kept in contact with mum, usually via video calls to a careworker’s phone and, on occasion, speaking to my mum through a window, from a safe distance in the garden. They have also sent numerous photos of mum taking part in various activities. I had always worried about my mum having to go into a care home but I can see that she has settled in and is being well cared for. The staff are doing a wonderful job in these very difficult times.

Since Grandpa moved into the home in Jan 2019 he has been well cared for. The staff are very sensitive to the needs of the residents and also the families of the residents.
The home is clean, well ran and offers a lovely environment for its residents.

I would recommend this care home to anyone who wants a home from home residential care for their relative.

My mother moved into Sutton Lodge in July 2017 after several dangerous incidents due to her dementia. The manager and staff from the very first day have been fantastic. They treated mum, my family and my mums friends with care, compassion, respect and patience. Every aspect of the home - rooms, meals, entertainment, and understanding have been brilliant. Sadly mum passed away recently but I attribute mums life and the quality of it being extended, by her time and care at Sutton Lodge.

My husband has been cared for fully. He has been encouraged to eat and drink is clean and correctly dressed. When not well it was only due to the staff's care and insistence to doctors that all was not right then he was admitted to hospital and received the treatment he needed to get better.

My mum who has dementia has been a resident at Sutton Lodge for 9 months and since her being there, I haven't had a bad word to say about Sutton Lodge.

My mum is very well looked after, she's settled and a lot less agitated. All staff always go that extra mile to care for all residents, whether it's to interact with them, help them or just comfort them. Nothing seems too much trouble. An overall view of Sutton Lodge, it's well managed, clean and I would give it a score of 10 out of 10.

Overall Experience

All staff have genuine care for each patient and do spend time with each one. Activities are provided to help patients feel involved and motivated. All staff are willing to make visitors feel welcome with a relaxed atmosphere. My mother was determined that she would not go into a home, but after a fall she had to, when informed she would be going her response was " I like it here and don't want to go back to my bungalow". The staff relayed information on how mothers reactions were during day time and night time and never too much trouble to talk at all. All in all this care home is very recommended for it's commitment to care.
