My family and I are very happy with the care given to our Grandma. The staff are always so kind and helpful when I visit and when I call to speak to my Grandma. They always do their best to help me to get to speak to her as I live 90miles away and I like to be able to speak to her regularly. It has
been so lovely and meant such a lot to me to be able to have video calls, that have been so kindly arranged on a weekly basis and so efficiently managed by their well-being lead, who always promptly messages me back and has kindly sent photos of my Grandma to me when my Grandma has asked her, which is so lovely. The care team are doing such a fantastic job, especially during this difficult time we are in but still ensuring my Grandma is being looked after and receiving the care she needs as well as looking after her well being and providing the video calls so she still gets to see her family. I can’t thank them enough for what they are doing, they are amazing and are some of our countries heroes.

Mum was placed on an assessment unit. I feel the physio was not sufficient and ceased too soon.
Some staff were not understanding of Mum's needs. The handover book was clearly not read by staff.
Understaffed, dirty pots in the dining room and kitchen and 'slop bucket' on window sill. Catheter left
to bursting point. Night catheter left on the floor in the bathroom with urine still in it during the day. Clothes went missing. Hearing aids not turned on. Left waiting for the toilet. Left in dark in room. No buzzer at times.

Dad was very poorly when arriving here nothing was too much trouble for the staff, very polite and clean. Dad says he will miss the meals. Highly recommended thanks.

Overall my mum has been well cared for over the past years, but I feel a lot of the staff are not trained in dementia and don't have a proper understanding of it.
Lunchtimes can be tricky as there isn't enough staff to make sure residents are eating enough and a lot of them, including Mum, are losing
weight although the meals are very good. It's always warm and friendly and I visit almost everyday. I have nothing to compare the home with so overall it's satisfactory.

The staff were absolutely brilliant at settling my mum into Westwood. She was really anxious about moving in and now she doesn't want to come home. She was supported well to integrate into life at Westwood and has made new friends. We have all seen mum grow a new enthusiasm for life. We feel like we
have the real mum back and that Alzheimers doesn't have to rob her of a happy life.

My mother was placed in the home as an emergency measure from hospital, since being in care, there has been a dramatic improvement in her general health and wellbeing.
Staff are friendly and attentive, and standards of cleanliness are very good, despite my mother putting her dirty clothes in with the
clean ones, which is, of course, her doing in line with her dementia. I don't expect the staff to rummage through her things to find out which is which.
My mother has now expressed a wish to stay in Westwood, she likes it that much, which is a far cry from her initial reaction when she first arrived, this is a credit to the staff and management of the home, who aspire to the best of care and the highest of standards.

My daughter and I had intended visiting all the care homes in Worksop and Westwood was the first on the list. After meeting the assistant manager, who showed us around, and noticing the residents, I decided that I need look no further as Westwood was a happy home. My husband has now been in the home
for 3 weeks and I know I have made the right choice for his care and future happiness.

Despite clothing ALL being labelled, constantly wearing other people's clothes miles too big. Dirty underwear left with clean until I sorted it, some with clothes and towels.

Since putting my husband into Westwood I have been extremely impressed with the staff and condition of my husband's room and the cleanliness. My husband always looks smart and clean which I am delighted about. The caring is exceptional. The manager is very approachable it is a pleasure to go and visit.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day meal with my mum. The tables were set lovely with flowers and tablecloths. The host was wonderful and treated us so well. A lovely couple of hours.

Mum has been a regular at Westwood with frequent spells of respite and now is a permanent resident. Our experience whilst mum has been in respite ultimately determined our decision for mum's long-term future in residential care. Almost every staff member who we have contact with treats us both with
respect and dignity and genuinely care for all residents.

Dad has only been at this care home a few weeks but from day one they made him feel welcome. It was his birthday in February and everyone in the home made his day special. It's a very friendly place with lots of activities going on. We, the family, have peace of mind knowing he is being cared for with

Just spent the afternoon celebrating Valentines Day with the residents and staff of Westwood. The amount of care the staff show the residents is obvious whenever I visit, but today watching the residents and staff joining together to dance to ‘Pretty Woman’ and ‘Love Train’ was just amazing. Everyone
was smiling and joining in and kept asking for more fast numbers. It was obvious the amount of hard work that had gone into organising the event. The staff were brilliant at helping the less able residents to join in the dancing safely. Thank you for all the hard work and care all the staff show to the residents

I would recommend this care home, they have looked after my mum since November and it's a safe and caring place. My family feel much better knowing that my mum has everything she needs. I think it's the best place for my mum. The staff and manager are helpful.

The entertainers, staff and carers are all as I'd want to be treated. The entertainment staff are very caring and involved with residents. I have seen lots of seasonal work and entertainment. It's very communicative and it involves the residents which helps them to enjoy daily activities.

work goes into each activity, keeping residents quality of life as normal as can be.
The carers are very nice to all the residents.
Excellent staff. It's the best care home I've been in yet.

I watched the staff and entertainers do a Christmas show, it was brilliant. It got all the residents singing and some dancing.
It was a lovely experience to see as a guest visiting and to see the residents being involved.
The staff work very hard daily and I could see the residents enjoyed the show.

Our mum was brought in to this home for R&R after a fall. We have found management and all staff to be caring, helpful, courteous, very kind, patient and humorous. Mum has early onset dementia and although retreating a little, is very aware and sharp in her mind. She shares jokes and fun with the staff.
Although we would like her to be able to access physiotherapy within the home, if this doesn't happen we will have to look at alternative care, until then, a big thank you to all of Westwood for all your care and help.

We were received with smiling faces and shown our apartments and all the rooms we could use. We (my husband and I) were welcomed warmly and helped willingly to settle in.
All the staff are very helpful and respectful coming here is one of the best decisions we made.
