Ashgrove House in Chadderton is ideally positioned with easy access to Oldham town centre and surrounding areas.

With 32 tastefully decorated bedrooms with the majority having en-suite facilities. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with pictures, trinkets and ornaments.

Ashgrove has two lounges where there is always something going on should residents wish to get involved. Activities play a vital part in the day to day running of Ashgrove, and in addition to singers and entertainers being provided, the home also has various day to day activities provided by the in house activity coordinator.

With a private secure garden for the residents to sit out and enjoy the sun a sensory garden also provides stimulation to many residents.

I am always impressed with the quiet and calm atmosphere at Ashgrove House. The staff are always professional and they never appear flustered or lacking control of the residents. More significantly all the residents appear calm, relaxed and content.

Ashgrove is a very happy and friendly home. It is bright and airy and extremely clean. All residents are treated with dignity and respect by the staff who are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. The staff greet you with a smile and they are always ready to have a laugh with the residents, even though
they are constantly busy. Mum enjoys the food and has made friends at Ashgrove. She can go to her own room whenever she wants and is relaxed in the homely environment. It is also well run.


Please note I do feel all care homes are over-priced but have rated Ashgrove good in value for money in line with the cost at other care homes.

Home always a nice atmosphere. Staff very friendly, always helpful, Manager excellent. Nothing is too much trouble whatever you ask them. Our mother is well cared for, happy, safe and content where she is. We as a family are all pleased she is getting the best care and help that she needs.

After looking at number of care homes for my mother who has dementia and walking difficulties, we placed her in the care of Ashgrove House. This is an extremely well run home and the staff are caring and very attentive. The residents appear to be very happy and my mother has settled in extremely well.
She is well looked after and her overall physical condition has improved a lot since she arrived there as she was struggling to look after herself at home.

My dad has been a resident at Ashgrove House for 8 years. I am happy with the decision I made to have him cared for by the staff here as the standard of the home is excellent and the staff are very professional in their approach to care. Ashgrove House is very nice on entering and kept up to a high standard. The furniture and fittings are beautiful.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way for the residents. The food is really good and the lady we visit really looks forward to the meals. There seems to be varied
activities for the residents and always something going on to keep them occupied.

There is a friendly homely atmosphere at Ashgrove House. The staff are very attentive and caring and quickly respond to residents needs. However, they also maintain a sense of humour which the residents enjoy and respond to. The housekeeping, kitchen staff and events manager also contribute greatly
to making Ashgrove House a good place to be.
Whenever my parent has had need of medical attention it has been sorted out promptly and successfully by the manager.
I feel really relaxed about my parent living there. I have visited many care homes whilst doing my voluntary work I cannot speak for all of them I would definitely rate Ashgrove as one of the best.

I visit the home every week and have always found the staff on hand to carry out their duties, which they do in a caring, friendly manner where appropriate with a sense of humour, making it a happy place to be.


I can't comment on the food because I haven't been there at meal times or value for money

as I am not involved.


From the treatment my friend's dad receives I would be happy for someone I knew to reside in the home. The staff do an excellent job.

The management and staff are fantastic.
Nothing is too much trouble for them, they are all very welcoming and the atmosphere is always very happy.

Both my mum and I feel part of a big family. I find all of the staff at Ashgrove House easy to approach and willing to help in any way they can. Any problems that my mum has had, have been dealt with care and understanding. Even when the staff are very busy and under pressure, it is never passed on
to the residents or their families. I am glad to have found this happy care home for my mum.
