My grandma moved into Laburnum in February 2021. I was very apprehensive about this move but Laburnum have been fantastic and exceed all my expectations, which as a nurse, were very high. My grandma has been treated with dignity and respect at all times. She’s got a new lease of life since moving to Laburnum her mobility has improved and her mental health has greatly improved. Laburnum and all the staff have made every effort to make the best of visiting at a very difficult time. We have just had a fabulous day at the summer BBQ. I cannot be more grateful for the care provided to my grandma over the last few months and the excellent communication from staff to us as a family. Keep up the hard work, well done everyone.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review. The team at Laburnum House are dedicated to the care and happiness of our residents, your recognition of our efforts in caring for your grandma are certainly be appreciated by the whole team. Kind Regards, Edelyn Napa
The staff at Laburnum House have been caring for my mother since February 2021. Everything about her stay has been first class. The staff are extremely caring and friendly. They ensure we are always fully informed and if my mother is ever not feeling well or they have any concerns they call the doctor and get it investigated immediately. I would recommend this care home 100%.
Thank you for your kind feedback, we will share this with our fantastic dedicated team.
My father seems quite at home in Laburnum House. It is early days yet as he has only been here 6 weeks, but signs are very good. The staff are very nice and approachable, which is always a priority and Dad has not shown any regrets about leaving his own home. Easy to book 'time-outs' for Dad but he likes to be back for his meals!
Kind Regards.
I find the staff very helpful. My sister-in-law is very well looked after.
Thank you for this great review, our staff here at Laburnum work hard to look after all our residents to a high standard. Kind Regards, Edelyn.
Nothing is too much trouble.

I've been very impressed with the support and care my mum has received since moving into Laburnum House Care Centre in March 2021. It was a big move for her as her as she was living in North Wales prior to this but decided that the time was right to move into residential care. The move was handled tremendously well by the staff and management. Mum seems to have settled into her new way of life.
Kind Regards, Edelyn Napa.
I have been very impressed with the care my mum has been getting. The staff are extremely efficient, friendly, and caring. My brother and I looked at a number of care homes and we are totally pleased that we have picked Laburnum House. Mum is well cared for and getting the support she needs.

Having had to place my mother into care during the Covid pandemic. I have been very happy with the choice we made. The staff are always very helpful, polite and caring. Mum always looks clean and nicely dressed and has a lovely room with her own belongings. I am looking forward to being able to go inside the home and getting to know the staff and residents.
I feel quite confident that when the covid 19 restrictions are removed life will be even better for the residents when normal activities can be resumed.
Your review made our day! Thank you for leaving us such a wonderful review, and for sharing your experience with us and the community. We are thrilled that your sister has had a positive experience with us; our team will definitely be happy to read what you wrote. Your words...
Obviously, this has been an unusual and very difficult year for any care home. We have had no inside contact with my Mum but the home has done its very best to facilitate our needs for contact. When you can go into the home you can make a much better judgement on the categories below. However, in my view, the home has worked diligently to continue to provide a caring and safe environment.
Thank you for taking the time in providing a review and for your compliments which I will pass on to the entire team. I am sure that your words will provide much encouragement and acknowledgement for the care the team are providing.
Kind regards,
Audrey
I have been a permanent resident at Laburnum House for 7 months and I know that can no longer live alone. I have been treated with courtesy, kindness and above all dignity since I came here. The staff are ever patient, often in the most difficult circumstances and are ever ready to help. They are the most cheerful people I have ever met.
Thank you for taking time in providing feedback. I will pass on your compliments to my colleagues at Laburnum.
Best wishes,
Audrey

I think the staff here at Laburnum House are excellent and really caring. This is a job not everyone would take on and they do not always get the rewards they deserve. Monetary or thanks. I am really grateful for all they do for me. The facilities could do with a little update but otherwise, everything is fine.

Meet the Team (1)

Edelyn was born and raised in the Philippines and the first industry she worked in was worlds away from care work too. Initially training and working in chemical engineering, Edelyn eventually found work as a production manager before training as an ISO auditor for eleven years.
But it wasn’t until 2004 that she found her true calling, when she decided to begin studying basic nursing in preparation for a move to the UK.
The Bloomcare family was excited to be able to welcome Edelyn in May 2005. The work came naturally to Edelyn and she soon began to climb the management ladder, eventually being chosen to manage the first Bloomcare home that we opened in Greater Manchester: Laburnum House. This was a huge responsibility and one that we felt we could only trust to Edelyn.
With our support, Edelyn has worked through various NVQ qualifications, and her wealth and variety of past experience has gifted her with the ability to communicate effectively with all kinds of people, as well as providing her with an indispensable set of leadership skills. All of these traits are central to the way that she runs Laburnum House. Everything that Edelyn and her staff do is carried out with the single goal of providing her residents with the highest level of bespoke care, with a focus on promoting independence, fostering healthy friendships, and retaining quality of life.
