Stoneswood

30th November - Mum very poorly today and we stayed all day. The staff were amazing - especially four staff members in particular - so caring and empathic. We must also mention two other staff members who are equally professional, they are all a credit to the team at Stoneswood. Another staff member manages the kitchen with skill and is attentive to the dietary needs of the residents, talking to residents daily to be able to tailor their needs.

Found the staff very friendly and supportive. Lovely surroundings and views. Overall happy with the care provided for my father-in-law who has been a resident since May 2023. The lodge is a lovely place to go for a coffee in the grounds.

Friendly, helpful and professional. My mother seems very comfortable and happy with the care and service provided. All the staff are extremely helpful and efficient. My mother's vegetarian options are catered for as with all other needs.

Staff are always very helpful and supportive. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble, and all staff go above and beyond. The cleanliness of the home is outstanding. Really nice feel from the minute you arrive in reception and always met with a smile.

I cannot recommend Stoneswood highly enough.

My wife’s grandma is a resident in Stoneswood, and I have been nothing but impressed with the quality of care she has received. She turned 94 in February, and the staff went above and beyond to allow us to celebrate. We were able to visit in the lodge and bring a birthday cake and spend some quality time within a Covid safe environment that the staff had put in place to ensure no other residents were at risk. After so long not being able to do this, it made all the difference in the world to my wife and her family.

I have both my parents living at Stoneswood, and this month, it was both their birthdays, 97! The team at Stoneswood always make a big effort for birthdays, and during our visit, they brought in a beautiful cake with candles, and we all sang happy birthday; all these touches help to make it seem like we are all part of one big family.

My mum and dad both entered Stoneswood in September 2020. Due to Covid restrictions, we were unable to view inside the home and initially only see our parents through the window; it was heartbreaking all-round. The staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to help our parents settle and reassure us that they were ok. The visiting pod was a step forward, and then the nicer weather allowed visits to the lovely grounds. Currently, there is a very comfortable and spacious visiting room which is a real asset. The staff are really accommodating, helping us organise small family celebrations for special occasions (all under Covid guidelines of course). As I have never been to the home, I cannot comment on the accommodation and other facilities. However, there is a warm, friendly atmosphere, and my sister and I, along with our parents, feel very much part of the Stoneswood family.

Stoneswood provides a first-class, five-star caring environment.

My mother has been a resident at Stoneswood for over five years. Stoneswood is an excellent care home, with strong management and dedicated staff, they are welcoming, friendly and strive to provide the best care and facilities for Mum. The past year has been challenging to say the least with the pandemic but Mum has been extremely well cared for and kept safe as the well-being of the residents is always top priority; when we were allowed to visit we saw Mum happy as usual with her hair done and nails painted. We are always updated with a newsletter detailing activities and photos and of course, this was invaluable during a lockdown. It is clear from the furnishings and decor the owners are passionate about creating a homely and friendly environment. All in all, Stoneswood is a clean and caring home that we would have no hesitation in recommending.

My grandma fell poorly at the start of the pandemic with a non-covid related illness. Due to being deemed too frail and with the NHS overwhelmed she wasn’t able to have the operation she needed and so was put on end of life care. She had previously lived independently but moved into Stoneswood in summer 2020 after her end of life diagnosis. The care and attention to her needs were so good that my grandma was still going strong as we came out of the first wave of the pandemic and from being too weak to receive the life-saving operation, the staff at Stoneswood recommended she have another assessment and they had cared for her so well that the doctors deemed her strong enough to have her operation and she was removed from end of life care. My grandma has developed a good group of friends and continues to be well looked after.

Stoneswood and all its staff have been outstanding. My mum had to go into care during the pandemic and they have been more than carers to her, they treat her like a friend. The way they look after my mum is amazing. All the staff are hard-working, go above and beyond, the home itself is beautiful and every member of staff is so helpful and compassionate when it comes to mums needs. I could not recommend this care home enough.

My mum, who has various types of dementia, had to move into Stoneswood last year, and the care she has received since then has been fantastic. The staff are brilliant at dealing with my mum. Nothing is too much trouble even during this incredibly difficult year. They immediately notice when my mum isn't quite her normal self and always investigate if there is something underlying that may be causing it which helps to keep her happy and well. My mum really did not want to move into a residential home but she has been happy this last year and her dementia has been much less problematic, which we think is because of the constant mental stimulation and the excellent care she has had. As a family, we are extremely grateful to everyone at Stoneswood for doing such a great job of looking after our mum/grandma it has certainly made our life less stressful knowing that she is safe and very well looked after 100% of the time.

My father has been in Stoneswood for just over two years now and has been well looked after and very content since day one. We find all the staff very kind and very helpful it’s nice to know your loved one is being looked after by very passionate people. Nothing is too much to trouble. My father is always washed and shaved, with his clothes washed and pressed he is very happy and more to the so are we very happy.

Stoneswood is a fantastic care home. It is set in a beautiful location. The staff go above and beyond to ensure a high standard of care to their residents. Management and staff are always willing to help with any questions. Overall, Stoneswood is a great care home with staff who are genuinely passionate about what they do. I would highly recommend it.

Stoneswood has plenty to offer including, lovely staff, beautiful surroundings and plenty of activities available for the residents. They have a cafe on-site with easy access, which is also great for residents. Communication between the care home and the family’s members is excellent, and the staff go above and beyond.

The care home is set in spectacular surrounding but unfortunately, the care for my mother was below satisfactory. To make matters worse my mother was served notice during a pandemic and consequently had to be moved out of the home. Many of times during visits I observed residents being changed in their room with the door open. On several occasions, we as a family reported concerns that we had but despite agreeing our concerns nothing changed. The relationship between the management and ourselves broke down simply because they could not take any criticism despite the vast sum of money they per month. I would not recommend this home.

My father-in-law has been a resident at Stoneswood for 4 years and I cannot praise the home highly enough. The care and attention he has received is first-class, as are the activities and entertainment provided to stimulate and keep residents motivated. During the coronavirus lockdown, the staff went above and beyond in their dedication to looking after the residents. His room is very clean and comfortably furnished and he is very contented with being cared for at Stoneswood.

I visit my grandma at the home all the time, the staff are so lovely and caring, and they have done absolutely everything possible to make my grandma feel safe and well looked after during the COVID pandemic. Although it has been difficult not being able to see her over the past few months, it has been very reassuring to know she is in such a wonderful home with such caring staff who go above and beyond for their residents.

I am very pleased with the level of care my elderly mother has received at Stoneswood. The care staff and management run an excellent nursing (care) home and should be congratulated for the high standards they maintain. The care staff are very warm and understanding and ensure the dignity of all the residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to lots of friends.
