Stoneswood

Stoneswood is, in my opinion, the best possible place for my father-in-law to receive the care he needs. The carers go beyond their care of duty to make sure he has everything he needs. His room is always immaculate and he loves being there. Food, beautiful surroundings and entertainment are unbelievable. I would say Stoneswood is the finest care home available.

Excellent and friendly service provided. Always made to feel welcome. Variety of activities for residents to take part in is excellent, and there is now the new ‘Lodge’ which is for the residents to visit for a coffee/cake with visitors, which means they don’t have to be taken off-site for this experience. Residents all seem very happy, and I visit on a regular basis. Management is friendly and proactive.

Stoneswood is a wonderful place, and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Mum has been in Stoneswood since 2011. We were very lucky to get her a room in the newest part shortly after it was built. The standard of accommodation was immaculate and to a very high standard then and this has been maintained.

The staff and management team are excellent - they keep us fully up to date and are always friendly and helpful to all queries. If there are any issues with regard to mum's health or care we are always consulted and kept fully up to date.

When my dad needed to go into residential accommodation it was very difficult to find somewhere we liked because we couldn't find anywhere that met the same standards as mum gets in Stoneswood (dad needed nursing care which Stoneswood can't provide, unfortunately).

We know at least one other resident in Stoneswood and believe their family have the same high opinion.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stoneswood to anyone needing residential care for an elderly relative.

It was a difficult decision to place Mum in a home but we have felt supported throughout the whole process by the management and care staff.

The facilities/rooms are first class and everything is always very clean.

The personal touches and the understanding that all the staff have towards Mum at Stoneswood make a very difficult situation much more bearable.

Both my parents are now resident in the home and I cannot praise highly enough the care that is given. The carers are always cheerful, so patient and my mother, who has dementia, adores them. As I live very close to the home I visit frequently and I feel very comfortable in doing so and I am made to feel very welcome. The management are very approachable and are very happy and willing to discuss any concerns and any issues are quickly addressed. The home is extremely clean, the activities are good, my parents particularly enjoy visiting the Lodge Cafe in the grounds of the home. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to others.

My grandma has been at Stoneswood for nearly 12 months and she absolutely loves it as well as us her close family. The staff are lovely, caring and treat my grandmother with the up most respect at all times. They always offer a range of activities for her to be involved in which she always thoroughly enjoys. The overall feel of the home is warm, it’s always immaculate and I feel very happy my gran is there. The general standard is exceptional.

We visit our family friend in Stoneswood on a regular basis. Each time we go, we are greeted with welcoming and friendly staff who can't do enough for you. There is always something going on for the residents to enjoy, and the food is lovely. The home is exceptionally clean and well maintained. It's more like a hotel than a home. I would highly recommend Stoneswood and definitely the best home around.

My mum moved into Stoneswood 5 and a half years ago. It is an excellent home and beautiful inside and out. It is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. All the staff have been brilliant with my mum. Although she had dementia, she is very happy and well looked after. I visit regularly and there is always a welcoming atmosphere. I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else.

I live in the Netherlands but manager to visit my mother several times a year. The staff and management are very accommodating when my family and I visit during a busy time. Everyone here is welcoming kind and compassionate. There have been many occasions when I have been upset when having to say goodbye to my mother. The amazing people here support not only mu mum but also me. Their care and professionalism is second to none and I leave knowing my mother is in the best possible home.

The home is kept clean and odourless! The food is of very high quality.

Having looked at many homes in the area and asking questions regarding care for our mum, Stoneswood met all our needs. The staff are friendly, hardworking and helped settle our mum into the home. I feel I can approach staff regarding any issues I have and I feel we have an open and honest relationship. The home is always immaculate, smells clean and fresh and a lovely atmosphere.

I visit my mum everyday at Stoneswood the care she receives is amazing, the staff are very attentive and respect her needs and dignity. I am offered a drink when I arrive and lunch if I cal at meal times. My mum is happy and joins in with all the activities she loves the volunteers who help out with the activities couldn't have found a better care home for her.

It was essential to our family to find the right home to suit my sister needs. We looked at many homes in the area. Stoneswood stood out to us from walking through the door. We were welcomed by the very friendly staff. The home was immaculate with a homely atmosphere. My sister settled well and enjoys the benefits of feeling safe. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the team. We feel happy and contented knowing my sister is being cared for by such dedicated people.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Would come into this home myself if it was required. Can come at any time and always welcomed by staff with a cup of tea. We are extremely satisfied with the standard of care. The staff are lovely, treating the residents with the utmost care, dignity and patience. They are responsive to the needs of patients.

The care home is excellent with very good standards. The staff are always available for help with an excellent attitude towards their work, they seem to have the knowledge to help you when you have a problem and can direct you to get help in any way.

Myself and my family cannot praise Stoneswood and its staff highly enough. Everyone who works there from the management to the carers are wonderful. The way they care for my dad who has Alzheimer's is a source of great comfort to us as a family. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone who works there and they care so much for the well-being of all the residents. In the 3 years that dad has been at Stoneswood we have never had cause for complaint. The home is beautifully decorated as are all the bedrooms. To know that dad is so well cared for when we cannot be with him is of great comfort to us all. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Stoneswood. Making the decision to use a care home for a relative is not an easy one to make for families but the management and staff at Stoneswood helped us so much at the beginning. They know all our names and you really do get the sense that they care for dad as much as we do.

Mum came to Stoneswood in June 2015 previously to that she had been in care for 2 years in what i would describe as mediocre at best, coming to Stoneswood has been like a dream come true for both my mother and myself. For the first time i am assured of her well being and happiness. The standards are second to none. Mum now looks clean, contented and has regained the weight she lost previously in her last care home. I am so grateful to the manager and her team for providing the best possible care and attention in fantastic surroundings. It just goes to show that excellent standards can be maintained in a care home setting.
