I visited Stoneswood recently and was really impressed. The staff are absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble. They are all happy in their work and talk to the residents and laugh with them all the time. The Xmas decorations and the entertainment over Xmas was fabulous. There was always something
going on. My friend is so happy here, it really is just like being part of a large happy family. The cleanliness of the home is unbelievable too. It's virtually like a 5* hotel.

The home was of excellent quality, the staff well trained and very attentive. Mum settled quickly aided by the atmosphere around the home in general.

Of all the homes we visited and researched this proved to be by far the best and most suitable.

Would have no hesitation recommending this home

to anyone with an elderly relative in need of care.

My nan went into Stoneswood for approximately 3 weeks for respite care. We were very happy with everything from the quality of care she received, cleanliness, quality of food and their attention to detail. Staff were cheerful and polite.

Her room had all mod cons, really well equipped and decorated

to a high standard with a lovely en suite.

Staff were attentive and the communication between them and us as a family was good. I would have no hesitation in recommending Stoneswood for respite or long term residential care.

A lovely warm friendly caring home. Mum has lived there for 6 years and has been very happy and well cared for, all the time staff are very welcoming and helpful. Whenever we visit mum is always clean and well presented in her own clothes. Her hair is washed and set every week and she is always smiling.
They always try to include mum in all activities. Staff come to us to chat about mum whenever we visit. Highly recommend.

My sister has been a resident at Stoneswood for nearly 12 months. She settled well, due to the kindness and welcoming atmosphere of the home. The care at Stoneswood is excellent. They treat residents with respect and dignity. I visit on a regular basis and observe how lovely the staff are with all the
residents and also the visitors. The home is spotless and I have also stayed for meals which are also excellent. I can't praise Stoneswood enough, and I am so grateful that my sister is cared for by such wonderful staff in a lovely environment.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.340)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.340) out of 10 for Stoneswood is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.610 for Stoneswood is calculated as follows: ( (78 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 118 Ratings = 4.61
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.73 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stoneswood is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 51 registered maximum number of service users is 10.2. 10 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.2 = 0.98
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
