I’m Ashlea. I’m 36 years old and a proud dad of four children, two of whom I hold close to my heart as my angels.

I have worked in the care sector for nearly 18 years, building my career through a genuine passion for supporting and making a difference to people’s lives.

My journey originally began as a bricklayer, but my career path changed when I would hear my mum come home from work and talk about her day and the people she had helped. Hearing the difference she was making inspired me to pursue a career in care, and I quickly discovered that caring was something I truly loved and was passionate about.

I began my career as a Care Assistant before progressing to Shift Leader, Team Leader and then Care Manager, where I gained valuable experience managing both residential and nursing services.

Becoming a Nursing Associate was a long-term ambition of mine, driven by my passion for nursing and my desire to further develop my knowledge and skills. After gaining my Nursing Associate PIN, I continued to progress professionally, managing a nursing dementia unit alongside a residential unit.

I then took on the role of Deputy Manager at Stoneswood, as I wanted to challenge myself, broaden my experience and continue developing as a leader. I have since progressed into my current role as Home Manager, which I am extremely proud of.

Throughout my career, my focus has always remained the same: putting residents at the heart of everything I do, supporting my team to be the best they can be, and creating a home where people feel safe, valued, respected and cared for.

I am passionate about leadership, continuous improvement and delivering high standards of care, while ensuring that residents and their families remain at the centre of every decision I make. Read less

I started my career in care in 2020 as a Care Assistant, and since then I’ve worked hard to develop my skills and progress within the sector. I’m incredibly passionate about care and supporting both residents and staff, and I’m proud to have progressed to my current role as Deputy Manager at Stoneswood. I’m the friendly, smiley face you’ll often find at reception!

I left school at 16 with no qualifications, but I learnt very early in life that hard work, honesty and professionalism are the keys to a good career. I’ve had lots of different commercial roles over the years, working for both small businesses and large multinational companies.

One of my proudest professional achievements was taking on a struggling business and, through sheer hard work, determination and tenacity, turning it into a successful company. I eventually sold the business, which gave me the opportunity to semi-retire, although I’ve never been very good at taking things easy!

Caring for people has always been a big part of my life. I was the main carer for both my own parents and my husband’s parents, supporting them through illnesses including cancer, strokes and Parkinson’s. Those experiences gave me a real love and empathy for older people and taught me just how important kindness, patience, dignity and a listening ear can be.

So, when I decided I wanted to do a little work again, the care sector felt like a natural fit. I love chatting with the residents, getting to know them, hearing their stories and having a laugh with them. I really enjoy the social side of my role and hope that when people walk through our doors, they feel welcomed and cared for.

I’m a great believer in “show up, don’t show off.” I’ll always give my best, work hard and try to make a difference, even when perhaps I should be taking things a little easier!

Outside of work, my husband and I love living in beautiful Saddleworth. We’re very sociable and love meeting up with the friends we’ve made over the years, but most of all we love spending time with our family.

My two daughters are my greatest achievement. Watching them grow into kind, caring and hardworking women with wonderful careers of their own makes me incredibly proud.

I’m really happy to be part of the team and feel that, after a lifetime of work and caring for family, I’ve found a little role that feels just right for me. Read less

I have been the Home Administrator for the past 15 months and thoroughly enjoy being part of a team that makes a positive difference in people's lives every day.

Prior to joining the home, I spent 12 years working at a firm of solicitors, assisting solicitors within the Personal Injury Department. This role gave me valuable experience supporting people through challenging circumstances and helped develop the compassionate, caring, and understanding approach that I bring to my work today.

I am passionate about helping others and ensuring residents, families, and colleagues receive the support and assistance they need. Building positive relationships and contributing to a warm, welcoming environment is something I take great pride in.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my partner and our four-year-old daughter, who loves being outdoors. As a family, we enjoy going for walks and exploring the countryside together whenever we can. Read less

I've spent almost 4 years at Autograph Care helping support families who are trying to find the best home for their loved ones, as well as supporting people who have realised they might now need additional support. It's always the greatest pleasure to see how much joy and relief finding the right care home can bring to people.

I am very passionate about making a difference in the lives of the people I meet. It's incredibly fulfilling to see how we can make a difference.
