My mum is happy every time I visit her, she is kept clean, well fed and all the staff talk to her with feeling. The staff treat all the residents with friendship. Very nice to witness the way the staff are with the residents.

My mother became resident at Heywood Court from August 2015 and I as her POA and daughter have found staff pleasant and extremely helpful at all times. As I am not local to the care home the staff always keep me informed. My mother is very well looked after there. My only concern would be the toilet
is at a low height and not very suitable for the very elderly and frail. Otherwise the care home is extremely good.

Good care provided. very clean and tidy care home, comfortable lounges for residents and visitors. Medication could be better managed. Resident are kept in a clean condition.

I am happy with the care at Heywood Court. The home is a very good standard. The staff do an excellent job. Very friendly and helpful, music playing throughout the day, tea, coffee, juices and cakes in the afternoon before evening meal, all are excellent turned out, clean no smells, everybody happy.
I would recommend this care home to everybody. Lots of activities, parties, Christmas, birthday parties, dancing when they bring entertainment in everybody joins in. Most of all my mum is happy.

My father is kept very safely within the care home. He has a comfortable spacious room with all required facilities. The quality of the food is excellent. The staff are very friendly, approachable and helpful. They are good at informing me if there has been an incident with my Dad or if he has had an
accident or become ill.
The care home could provide a lot more stimulating activities and my father is often left sitting doing nothing. Also, in the 12 months that my father has been a resident he has lost a lot of personal property including glasses, hearing aids and clothing.

Michael McPherson

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2002

Michael McPherson has been dedicated to social care since 1999, progressing from domiciliary care to various roles in a care home environment. He became a home manager in 2006 and joined Heywood Court in 2018. Michael values the importance of building strong relationships with residents and their families and finding great satisfaction in making a positive impact.


Outside work, Michael is a father of two and grandfather to eight, including two grandchildren with autism. He enjoys watching sports and playing golf in his spare time.
