Bryn Haven

Bryn Haven was my first choice and I have been more than satisfied. I cannot fault the care and attention that is afforded to my wife. Many thanks.

Overall very good. The bedroom (my mum's) needs decorating and the wardrobe is too small. Hardly any room for clothes and shoes.

In the past, I knew two Bryn Haven Care Home residents who were very happy here. As my aunt grew older and required 24-hour care, Bryn Haven was my first choice and a very wise decision it turned out to be. My aunt has been very happy during her stay, she (and I) find the staff to be extremely caring and understanding. The rooms and the home are clean and kept in good condition. Staff are extremely kind, caring and understanding of her increasing mental and physical frailty. Outings, special events and sing-songs are arranged and particularly enjoyed by my aunt. I would not hesitate recommending Bryn Haven to others.

I visit with a friend every few weeks to see her elderly aunt. Her aunt always appears happy and content, she appears to be well cared for, her room is always clean and tidy. The staff are always friendly and approachable. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit the home.

I was overwhelmed with the care, effort and attention given by all the staff in making sure this person had an amazing time and all the residents enjoyed everything. The daughter of the resident took me to her room to take her presents back. I was blown away by how lovely it was, I was blown away by how clean everywhere was. My poor mm died two years ago, just after her 100th birthday, I just wish that she had been in a place like Bryn Haven Care Home, she would have loved it and lived longer, I am sure! Well done everyone.

Lovely place. The staff very friendly and helpful, can't do enough to make you feel comfortable. Spotlessly clean and always smells clean and fresh. The staff are lovely with residents and family alike and can't do enough to make you feel welcome.

My mum has recently become a resident at Bryn Haven. Happy, caring environment. The carers are fantastic with my mum. Nothing is too much trouble. Kept informed at all times. The management are amazing. Happy for me to call anytime to ask about Mum. The management look after myself and my dad as well. Home from Home. Well done Bryn Haven.

Mum is very happy in Bryn Haven. The staff are all very caring and friendly. They are always helpful and will try to put right any issues that arise. Her room is bright and a good size and is always clean and tidy. I feel very confident that Mum is well looked after and has all her needs met.

My mum has been in Bryn Haven for 4.5 years. The staff have been fantastic, even through difficult times such as covid. Their friendly, caring attitude is great. I would definitely recommend Bryn Haven.

Although my wife did not want to be in a home, she always appeared to be happy there. She was certainly well treated by all the care staff and well-liked. They all do a tremendous job and are so caring. I looked at them and some of them are so young, yet they are able to show much compassion and care. They do a job that not everyone could do, including me. They have so much patience and understanding and are truly in love with the job they do. Whenever I visited my wife, I was always made to feel so welcome and everyone was so friendly and understanding. I used to visit my wife every day and I got to know every member of staff, indeed they said and still do say that I am part of the family and I am so pleased and proud to think that they gave me that honour. I cannot thank them enough for what they did. My wife died in the home on the 1st March 2022.

Moved my mum here from another care home that was very poor. The difference straight away was like night and day. The staff were waiting at the door and you could feel the warmth of the atmosphere as soon as we walked in. The interaction with residents, good humour and the staff really do care, I cried with relief getting Mum here. Best move ever, the staff really are approachable, kind and down to earth, lovely people. I feel like I can ask anything and that makes me relaxed. Mum is doing grand, very happy.

Communication is non existent. There is no evidence whatsoever that there was any handover from the previous manager to the present manager. This is not just my own isolated opinion. Every time that I visit and have the opportunity to discuss matters with other visitors they all make the same point. A total lack of communication.

Also, for the families of new residents, a booklet containing information regarding settling their loved ones into Bryn Haven would be most helpful. I have suggested this previously. eg what to bring to their bedroom, names being put in clothing. The little things that are not obvious to newcomers. Maybe a volunteer could handle this.

We were very worried about putting my dad into a home as we have always looked after him since his Alzheimer’s diagnosis. But we can’t thank the staff enough at Bryn Haven. They made the transition so easy for my dad and us. From the start, on his first day, letting me sit while he ate lunch and go to his room to settle him in, or when we were ringing constantly to find out how he was doing and doing facetime with us when we couldn’t get there, to now keeping us informed if he’s had a fall or what the doctor has said. When you go for a visit, the staff are always really lovely and helpful. They have a new events coordinator now that sends me fab pictures and has asked what my dad's interests are. If you are worried about aftercare for your loved ones, I would definitely recommend this friendly, happy home.

Bryn Haven is a fabulous place I’m a carer who looks after a lady who went in in June for respite. She had a great time all the staff looked after her as it was her first time in a care home. The conservatory was lovely especially when I visited all precautions were adhered too. Lots of things going on if you wanted to join in or quiet place to sit and relax. My lady cried when she had to come home which told me she was well looked after and I would recommend Bryn Haven to anyone who has doubts about placing there loved ones into care. Exceptional staff and lovely people to talk too. Well done to all.

Dad was admitted to Bryn Haven in January 2021 after spending 6 weeks in hospital. From the day he arrived, he was treated with great care and empathy, by all of the staff. Whilst dad was in pain from a variety of medical issues and he was diagnosed with dementia whilst he was there, they ensured he was looked after. They sought to understand his likes and dislikes, and as his stay was whilst the pandemic was in progress, ensured we as a family could see him as often as we wanted to. (Initially via the pod but also latterly visiting him in the home). A lovely bright place.

My mum has been a resident of Bryn Haven since before Christmas. The first time we went to look round, it felt so homely, smelt so clean and was spotless. The staff are wonderful, so friendly and lovely with the residents. You worry when a loved one goes into care, but we have no worries with the care our mum gets. Thank you to everyone for giving our family peace of mind.

My mum spent 6 months at Bryn Haven after leaving a private residential care home when she got diagnosed with Dementia. My siblings and I visited many homes as we were determined that Mum was only going to the best. As soon as we walked into Bryn Haven we would feel the warm, friendly atmosphere and it felt so homely. We could not fault any of the staff, they were so caring and approachable their like one big happy family. Whilst my mum was there, she went on several day trips with them which she thoroughly enjoyed, it was great that family and friends were welcome on the trips as well. Sadly, Mum passed away recently due to other medical problems. We cannot thank the staff enough for their love and support at that difficult time. Two members of the staff even attended Mum's funeral which meant so much to the family. We would highly recommend Bryn Haven as we know that Mum was very happy there. Thank you again to all the wonderful staff and residents.
