I went to Cawood House for a placement for my mum. I would recommend Cawood House to anyone who needed it.
All the staff are brilliant very caring and I know that my mum is very well looked after.

I couldn't be happier if and when any problems they are on the phone to me.

I was pleasantly surprised at the airy nature of the premises and was really happy with the care being carried out to my friend. The staff were helpful, friendly and very welcoming making a point of coming to speak to my friend and me when I arrived. A totally enjoyable experience.

Staff are all friendly and care for the residents. Food is excellent. I'm not sure that eating and relaxing is good in the same room. I would prefer a relaxing lounge and a proper dining room separate as it can look like a dumping ground. The TV could do with being fixed to the wall (chimney breast). Could do with ceiling fans being put back in.

Clean, well organised, homely. I feel reassured that my dad is not lonely, as I know staff members visit his room regularly and also involve him in the activities taking place.
Quick action has taken place when my dad has required a nurse or doctor to visit.
Communication with patient and family has been very good.

Staff are friendly and cheerful always professional.

My mother moved into the care home in November full time. Cawood House is a clean, friendly, happy home, with activities each day. Attention to detail seems to be very good. Staff are excellent and easy to approach. Staff are always on the go. Mum seems to be relaxed and happy, which puts our minds at ease.

I would recommend this care home.

The service to my Mum is first rate. I have always been kept in touch with how my Mum has been in Cawood House. I've always found the staff have been friendly and warm to my Mum and other residents.
Whilst I have been visiting my Mum, when there is a problem with other residents they are quick to deal with any problems and resolve any issues very quickly.

The staff definitely deserve a pay rise.

Excellent service and care is administered to my mother-in-law.
The staff can't do enough for you if you have any problems, they are all friendly and caring.
If one of the residents is upset they always take them out and calm them down, especially when visitors are around.
Some of the entertainment we have seen whilst visiting is to a high standard.

The staff deserve a pay rise.

My mum has been a resident for 20 months now and is a very happy person. I was worried when I was told mum would need to go into a home, but from the first time we went to Cawood House our minds were put at rest.

Nothing was too much trouble. Mum has settled in within a week! The staff are wonderful with her. They always have time for her, do not rush her and will sit and chat with her. She is always clean and wearing her own clothes. I cannot recommend Cawood House and all the staff highly enough.

After mum was transferred to Cawood from another home, where she had had numerous falls and was generally very unhappy, she perked up straight away. The place is very clean and most of the time smells pleasant too. In the weeks since arriving, she's always clean, tidy, dressed and happy with herself. She's been out for trips, her food intake has increased and overall she is as happy as can be. Staff are polite and helpful.

From first contact, enquiring about vacancies at Cawood House to settling my mother in, the service has been efficient, friendly, reassuring and very helpful. excellent liaison between family, professionals and services was provided. The care home is light, bright and welcoming. Rooms are comfortable. Staff are friendly and efficient. The grounds are well maintained and provide a calm outdoor area for residents to use. Furniture is user friendly, there are lots of sitting areas so that residents can choose according to their needs. We are very happy that mother has been allocated a place here.

My mum moved here from another care home, it's a lovely friendly home. Staff are very helpful and mum seems to be settling fine; rooms have vinyl on the floor which is 100% better than carpet and it's clean. Could do with this in the passageways, but apart from that happy with the home and care.

My mother is suffering from dementia so does not still have the ability to engage in conversations or activities such as reading, knitting, sewing, TV etc. She has all her other needs very well catered for by caring and generally cheerful staff who I feel i can approach with any concerns which may arise. They all seem to know mum and are tolerant of her condition. We are encouraged to pop in at any time. She has been in the home for 15 months now and it has given her family peace of mind after suffering a torrid time when trying to care for her in her own home.
