My mother has been a resident at Peel Moat for eighteen months. Staff members are friendly and caring and keep me updated as to my mothers condition. The care home is clean and security is taken seriously. Visitors are very welcome and residents are treated with dignity and respect. We chose Peel Moat as two neighbours had prior experience with their parents being residents and it has fully lived up to our expectations.

As a family we were concerned about having to move my mum into a care home but now feel that she is in the best place to get the support and care she needs.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the home is clean and welcoming.

Mum seems to be settling in well and making friends. She enjoys the company, regular snacks, and especially the various activities.

My mother moved to Peel Moat in November as she could no longer live independently. The staff have been universally compassionate, doing what is a very difficult job cheerfully. Mum is comfortable, well-fed and safe. I am particularly impressed with the medical care my mother is receiving, which is exemplary. Thank you to all the staff at Peel Moat.

We were worried about moving dad into a care home. However he's settled and his health has actually improved since moving to peel moat. The staff are friendly and always able to update us on how dad has been doing. They respond quickly to any change in dads behaviour, getting additional medication/support when required. We now feel happy that my dad is getting the care he needs and is safe.

Our cared for person is mostly in bed now but Staff are as attentive as ever and have a good knowledge of his needs and what he s eaten. They pop in to chat to him, put his favourite t.v. chanel on and even get the therapist to do an activity with him. They ve involved me in making his care plan with the Dr. I feel he s had the best care possible under the circumstances and we can visit whenevever we want to. Highly recommend Peel Moat. Its given me peace of mind. Thanks to the lovely staff.

Overall Experience

The care my great-aunt has received since the beginning of the year has, on the whole, been excellent. The facility is clean & well staffed. The care staff are by far Peel Moat's greatest asset. Dedicated, caring, respectful and empathetic, not only to the residents but also to their families. They're always happy to engage with family members and have a quick chat before continuing their good work. The administration and management team are excellent too, open to feedback or family concerns, however small, offering reassurance and always ensuring that any issues raised are addressed quickly. Nothing is ever too much trouble. We've also received regular updates too regarding our great-aunt's progress and any issues that may be affecting her physical health or wellbeing. I cannot recommend Peel Moat Care Home highly enough for the standard of care they provide. They provide excellent service as well as peace of mind to families.

Overall, this is a good care home.
My mum has been resident here for 7.5 years and is happy here.
I am mostly happy with her care...the manager is very approachable and always available to speak to, if needed. The majority of the care staff are polite, friendly and kind. I always feel welcome when I visit.
Some go the extra mile.
The activities team are amazing - they carry out lots of great activities and allow all residents to get involved where they can. This has been particularly good for my mum.
It is lovely that they have an accessible jacuzzi bath and a visiting hairdresser.
As with all care homes, there are some issues, but these are minor and usually addressed promptly.

I have had some issues with my mum's clothes...items going missing, items not hung up in her wardrobe, some incorrect items and sometimes not her clothes have been put on her and photographed and put on Facebook.

My mum has been a resident at Peel Moat Care home for 13 months. She has Dementia, her needs in the home are met perfectly.
She is so much happier since the decision was made by myself and my siblings to place her in residential care a decision that wasn't taken lightly.
I have just returned home from visiting her. She had a Sunday lunch of salmon with vegetables roast and duchess potatoes followed by a trifle. All food is homemade. Mum's appetite is up and down but is always encouraged to eat her meals by the lovely caring staff too many to mention by name.
Mum has six children and as a result lots of visitors. However, each and every one of us is made to feel welcome.

I can highly recommend the home.

Staff are professional and helpful, giving me the confidence that mother, after two moves, had finally been admitted to a home skilled to care for her complex behaviours and needs. Keeping me informed on her initial settling-in period and updating me during a period of ill health. The management are proactive in referring to other services, ensuring the best care is available for my mother.
