My Mum has been living at Reinbek since April 2025. Mum had to move out of her home of 63 years following the death of her daughter and carer. Mum moved in for respite care initially. She loves it and has never looked back. She is now a permanent resident and wouldn't want to be any where else.
As family we were concerned about how Mum would settle in and we should not have been worried. The care Mum receives is absolutely 1st class. The cares are amazing, the management are amazing. I can't recommend Reinbek enough. Mum says the staff are amazing and she is very happy there. If Mums happy we're happy.
Reply from Karen Pearson, Reinbek Manager at ReinbekThank you so much for your review and kind words about Reinbek. We're thrilled that your Mum has settled so wonderfully and is so happy with us. It means so much to our team to know that she feels at home and that your family, are reassured by the care she receives. Our entire Reinbek team work hard to provide excellent support and create a warm, welcoming home for all our residents, and your feedback recognises their hard work. Knowing that both Mum and your family are happy is the greatest compliment we could receive.

I am an occasional visitor to see two family friends. Both friends are happy, treated with respect by the staff and appear well cared for. They both enjoy the meals they are served. As a visitor all the staff are welcoming, cheery and appear to enjoy their work - I believe if they are treated with respect
and dignity they will look after the residents equally. My other comments to offer is the lack of 'smell' from food or over use of cleaning products (ie too much leach).
Reply from Karen Pearson, Reinbek Manager at ReinbekThank you for your review - we're so glad your visits to Reinbek are positive and that your friends are thriving here. It means a lot to us that you see our team's dedication and the respectful environment we strive to create. Your kind words about our team being welcoming and cheery really brightens our day, and you're spot on - happy staff make for happy residents! We're committed to ensuring everyone feels valued and well-cared for. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

Although mum wasn't at Reinbek very long, we all felt the warmth and care given to her. The rooms - individual and communal - were clean and well cared for; she was encouraged to participate in group activities, but also given the privacy she wanted; food was good; staff were local and kind. Mum wasn't
mobile, but personal attention was always provided. She was treated with respect and her concerns were taken seriously, by staff at all levels. Kind people. We couldn't have wished for a better final home for her.
Reply from Karen Pearson, Reinbek Manager at ReinbekThank you for your incredibly kind words. We're so glad we could provide a comfortable and respectful home for your mum, even for a short time. It means a lot to our team to know we made a difference.

We knew from our first visit to Reinbek that we had found the right home for our aunt. When you walk through the door the home is spotlessly clean and the atmosphere is one of one of warmth and friendliness thanks to a brilliant team of staff at all levels - management, carers, and support workers -
all friendly and approachable and willing to help with any concerns you may have.
Our aunt has lived at Reinbek for 18 months and has a lovely room looking over a large established garden. She frequently tells us that she feels safe, that the staff are kind, and that she is treated with respect - 'they don't talk down to me'. In the time she has lived there, she has thrived from the care she has received and the social activities she has taken part in which has included small group trips to the seaside and one-on-one outings. She is clean and well presented with her hair done regularly and nails manicured.
Happy to recommend Reinbek.

What a great place, clean, well-maintained, great staff.
Rooms are nice and private and you are well-informed of what's going on. Activities for all.
Meals are good, plenty of choice
My dad has stayed at three homes and all were good, however, this place feels more like home.
The staff have a smile
and fun, they have energy and time for all, they make you feel like you are on holiday.

As soon as I walked into the Reinbek, I knew I would be happy for my mother to live there. The staff are so attentive, pleasant and patient. After Mum was taken ill at the home, the staff got her admitted to the hospital immediately and, after a few weeks, welcomed her back with open arms and nursed
her back to good health. It is a pleasure to visit Reinbek, spend time with other residents and join in with the varied activities.

My partner has been in Reinbek on four occasions, for respite for me. I looked at seven homes before visiting here and knew straight away it was the most suitable in every way. Rooms and activities are very good. The staff are all welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Wouldn't hesitate
to recommend.

Dad is really well looked after. He is always washed, dressed and shaved. The staff have gone out of their way to make him feel welcome and help him settle in. The staff are always really friendly, kind and really make an effort to include him. As a family, we are really pleased with the care he is
receiving.

Reinbek was recommended to me, so because of this and its location, it was the obvious choice when choosing where Mum should be. My mum has been at Reinbek since April 2021. Mum has lived in Davenport for many years, so it's nice to keep her in the area she knows. I live very close by, as does her best
friend who doesn't drive, so it's very handy for visits. Mum is happy and settled at Reinbek. I have made her room a 'home from home' with her personal photos, ornaments and plants. It is lovely to know she is well looked after and there is always someone there to help and support her. From the carers to management and everyone in between, all the staff are happy and friendly. They say they always treat the residents as they would like their elderly relatives to be treated. There are many opportunities for residents to mix and be entertained. It really feels like a big family and this is extended to friends and relatives too.

The carers who work at this care home are just wonderful, so much patience. Our mum only stayed for a year, whilst her new home was rebuilt for wheelchair use. She has made many good friends of both staff and residents. The send off they gave her was second to none, not a dry eye in the home. A grateful
thank you to everyone there.

Only two words to describe Reinbek: absolutely outstanding. My thanks go out to the manager and all the wonderful staff who cared for my mum. Although she was only with you a few months, before she sadly passed away at the age of ninety-nine, my sister and myself will always be truly grateful for the
excellent care given to Mum in her short stay.

When my mum moved into residential care, the family were concerned that she wouldn't settle, she is fiercely independent and not always easy to please! We need not have worried. From our first visit, throughout the moving-in period and now two months later, every member of staff we have dealt with has
been professional, understanding and above all kind. Mum's many challenges have been met with patience and compassion and the same support has been extended to the family. Regular updates when needed and flexible support to overcome mum's various issues have made the process much easier for us. Whether management, care or domestic staff, every member of the Reinbek community makes a positive contribution to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I have full confidence that mum is safe and well cared for and would recommend Reinbek to anyone considering residential care.

The manager and her team were helpful, caring and kind.
They made my mother's sister and her family so welcome
They had not seen each other for 2 1/2 years, which caused much anxiety and upset.
They provided much-needed quiet space so they could talk and have afternoon tea.
The activities team
provided lots of talks and entertainment.
Thank you to one lady for her prompt referral to the GP for my mother and to all the staff for her care afterwards.

My dad is 100 years old and moved into Reinbeck a few months ago as he was no longer able to cope at home. We are totally amazed at the change in him, he is so much better both mentally and physically – he has stepped back 5 years.
The staff are absolutely amazing with him, nothing is too much trouble
for them and the facilities are outstanding. He has the freedom to come and go as he pleases, it's up to him what time he gets up, goes to bed, what time he has food etc. Visitors are welcome at any time. It truly is a home from home.
It's wonderful to see him like this. Thank you Reinbeck for giving us our dad back.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.564)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.564) out of 10 for Reinbek is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.564 for Reinbek is calculated as follows: ( (189 Excellents x 5) + (89 Goods x 4) + (19 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 298 Ratings = 4.564
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Reinbek is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
